This spot is sure to SCRATCH that hot chicken craving of yours while taking your tastebuds on a scorching trip down south to Nashville Tennessee! We swung by on a winter Friday night and it wasn't very busy. The inside is pretty small, with only two tables and some counter seating against the walls. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tender with Fries:Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwhich (3.5/5): This is the girthiest, thickest piece of chicken I've ever had in a sandwich, this clucker was definitely hitting the weights daily on the farm! Almost too thick because it was kind of dry...I got the Level 6 spice and it lit my mouth and entire digestive system on fire with those ghost and scorpion peppers! The coleslaw and comeback sauce on top were tasty but not amazing.Chicken Tender with Fries (5/5): These juicy big tenders were not dry like the sandwich, and were fried to a mesmerizing golden-brown crispiness. And my goodness those funny-looking fries -- they are amazing! I thought they would be too starchy but the exterior is perfectly crispy and the interior is soft and not starchy at all. We gluttonously consumed all the fries like there's no tomorrow -- definitely the surprise highlight of the meal! I'm sure the interior looks nicer in the day, but at night the dim yet harsh interior lighting doesn't lend to a nice ambiance. Also I would not recommend coming at night like we did because the area around can be pretty sketchy and the streets filled with crazies...Overall, amazing fries and decent hot chicken!

I'd been wanting to try Scratch Cookery for a while, and finally got around to it on Friday! They were shockingly busy on a Friday evening, both with takeout orders and in-person patrons. When we ordered, the staff member told us there would be at least a 20 minute wait for our food. The interior was small, with almost no decor, some seating, and a view of the kitchen where the food was being prepared. They also had an outdoor seating area in the front. Our food came out in almost exactly 20 minutes. I got a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with level 2 spice and no coleslaw, as well as a side of Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was huge and the chicken itself was perfectly cooked. The level 2 spice wasn't bad at all, and I probably could've handled more. What was really missing for me was the amount of sauce - I couldn't even say if I liked it, because there just wasn't enough of it compared to the massive piece of chicken. The Mac & Cheese was also disappointing and tasted super fake and plastic-y. I would skip this and get fries instead, but only if you like thick cut fries (which I do not). Overall, still a good, filling chicken sandwich, but not quite worth the hype for me!

Super disappointing especially considering the price point. When you bite into a chicken sando, you want that shred. I got mush. Wish I had gone to Popeyes and ordered a chicken sando there...They had good flavoring, good spice , but the actual chicken protein quality was just lacking...big time. I remember loving their foodtruck... Fries were great, chz sauce was tasty. Other than that, can't say I'd revisit for a chix sando.

We went after a sharks game and got a chicken sandwich as well as a burger. The sandwich was huge! Very filling and tasty, a great crunch and spice to the chicken! I liked that their fries are different than any classic cut too. The staff was kind and answered any questions we had while ordering. We sat inside since it was on the cooler side, but great to have both indoor and outdoor seating options

I don't even like chicken and I willingly ate some nugget loaded fries because it was so good. The chicken nuggets were tender, juicy, crunchy with breading, and so flavorful. The fries were thick cut swirls drenched in cheese. The pickles were a tangy pallete cleanser. They have a scale of spiciness for their chicken. I have a medium ish spice tolerance but was playing it safe and chose a 2/7. This was not spicy at all - my taste of my friend's level 3 had a nice kick. So treat level 3 as white people medium-low spice. Lastly, the serving size was EPIC. I was so hungry and could barely finish a third of the loaded fries, so it could easily split between two people.Logistics:- indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor is bar style counter stools, while outdoor has picnic tables and umbrellas- no street parking near, but plenty of paid public garages within a few blocks. Easily accessible by buses and light rail.

Was looking forward to eating here after a long day but it just missed the mark. We were a bit lost the staff left helped us about zero percent. The staff wasn't rude just kinda sat there waiting for us to tell them what we want as we looked lost. I understand that the menu isn't complicated but when it comes to heat it's always a roll of the dice. Some guidance would have helped. That being said everything fell flat. Was lacking flavor and overall pretty forgettable. It looks good. But these looks were deceiving.

If I'm feeling a chicken sandwich, this is where I go! Food Recommendation: I really like the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich at a level 2 (mild-medium) or 3 (medium). The chicken is THICK, flavorful, and super juicy. It's a pretty big sandwich so if you eat light, you can split with a friend. Service: Staff has always been friendly and respectful. Food generally takes about 10-15 minutes to come out once ordered. If it's really busy, it can take a tiny bit longer.Ambiance: The restaurant itself has indoor and outdoor seating, but is on the smaller side. However, we've always managed to get a seat by the time our food comes out. There's a lot of natural lighting front the windows on sunny days.

Scratch never disappoints. Just tried their new smash burgers, and they're good. I think I prefer their chicken sandwiches between those two options still. Just wanted to thank Scratch for keeping a strong social media presence. That's how I found out they sold smash burgers now. Thank you for posting your NYE hours as well. I got spice level 4 for my Hot Nashville Chicken Sandwich. I got spice level 3 for my loaded fries. Surprisingly, the loaded fries tasted spicier.

This shop was about a 10 minute walk from my workplace, so I gave it a try. Even with not many people in the shop, there was a decently long wait for the food to come out. I would say it was worth it though because it was delicious! The chicken was fried to perfection and they give you such a huge piece in your sandwich. The slaw inside also brings everything together so nicely. I'd say this may be one of the best chicken sandwich shops out there.
