The older gentleman with the black-rimmed glasses seemed rude and unpleasant but he did make me a good sandwich. That's probably the only bad thing I noticed about this place, but the food seemed to be ok and affordable. I bought the Thursday special (Adas Polo) and I later found-out that Polo is not chicken, not the same as "Pollo" but somehow my mind was tricked into getting this. I should have read the ingredients more carefully. My wife and I had a chuckle when we started eating this for dinner. Nonethless it was a rice/dates/lentil dish that was $7.99 so I decided to try it out. The basmati was light, the dates added some sweetness and everything else was subtle. Their sandwiches were also at the same, affordable price so I decided on the Kotlet sandwich. It was a medium sized wrap sandwich and the ingredients seemed fresh. I'm not sure why I didn't try their kabobs and nobody was in line behind me so maybe next time I should just take my time to study the menu or perhaps do this when I drop by next time.I've also noticed some folks ordering through the side window in the past but I went inside the store myself after visiting the boba place next door. I'm looking to try either a kabob or one of the tandoori or lahori chickens next. Koubideh is my go-to so maybe that will surpass all the others or I may just be bold and grab all 3 since the price seems to be reasonable all under $20. I remember this place back in the old-days of Mountain View when their store was directly behind the current location in an open lot with the market entrance facing the street at a corner and their order to go window was towards the back end of the store. Those were the days. Sigh*

I used to regularly shop/eat there a few years ago, but their standards have really fallen lately! I bought a clamshell of pistachio with roasted chili lime type of seasoning. I put it away in my pantry, and a week later, after I absentmindedly ate some, I noticed there was a fine web inside the container. I called the store and let them know that I'd drop it off for them to inspect. I wrapped it up and stuck it in my car for the next time I went to Mountain View ( 35+ miles). 3 days later I went to check it and there were MAGGOTS! That's an absolute NO-NO!

I was at Mr. Sun nearby and saw Rose International Market. I browsed their goods and were intrigued by their deli counter offerings. I ordered a koobideh skewer ($4.99) and paid an extra $1.50 for it to be a "super sandwich." The koobideh came out with tomato, onion, and parsley all wrapped in lavash. The price was very fair and the portion was generous. I ate half of my wrap and felt full. The koobideh was a bit dry and underseasoned, the wrap could have benefited from a sauce. I went back inside and bought a tub of mast-o musir/shallot yogurt from their deli counter for $8.15 ($7.99 a lb) to eat with my wrap. That made it slightly better but I still would have liked some additional sumac or something. My dining companion also enjoyed the grilled lamb livers ($3.99). They said the lamb livers had a nice char and weren't too gamey. The lamb livers also came on a bed of lavash. The grilled roma tomatoes (99 cents each) were sweet and grilled perfectly, I'd order them again. I would come back to try their other offerings if I happened to be in the area, but I'd opt for a different dish. Service was perfectly polite. They have limited outdoor seating and you might have to park on the street since there isn't tons of parking on site.

Great Mediterranean grocery store and a place to pick up lunch. Prices are valued well without breaking the buck when lunch nearby can easily run 20-30. Doing that everyday isn't the biz. They have fresh meats (no fish) and fresh vegetables. The kebabs are the showstoppers. I'd skip the steak. Sometimes the days can be hit or miss, depending on who's behind the grill.

Good meat selection and quality. Butcher so they can cut it how you want and when they do it here they are very polite. Prices are good as well and I enjoy that they are halal.

I love this place. Koubideh, crispy rice, outdoor tables.Only issue is there is about 1 smoker every 10 minutes outside. Makes it hard to enjoy if you're sensitive, pregnant, or have kids. I'd love if they put in a designated smoking area AWAY from the small outdoor dining area. I'm sure the smokers wouldn't mind.

So I was trying out Mr Sun nextdoor and I was so curious about this international market. I love trying new ethnic foods and it's rare to find a Persian one. They have a ton of bread, all sorts that I've never seen before. The store is big and spacious, seemed mostly clean. I was most interested in their deli section -- so many things I've never seen before so I bought a little of everything to try out. Somehow ended up spending $70!!Sabzi Koko $6.09Kotlet $7.98I wanted to try their assorted cutlets but they turned out to be dry and tasteless. Sadly ended up in the garbage. Chicken legs cooked in tomato sauce x3 $8.97 these were also dry, despite being simmered in sauce but I think it might be because they removed the skin and maybe the chicken had been cooking in their juices for awhileCrispy basmati rice $8.97I thought this came with the rice. Otherwise I would not have purchased this because the kabobs actually came with a giant package of lavash breadKoubideh x3 $14.97Chicken kabob x3 $17.97These were the best out of everything I tried. The koubideh is a combination of beef and lamb, cooked on skewers. Chicken kabob were not too dry and I liked that smoked flavor from the grill. Overall it was an interesting experience and I'm glad I tried everything. Service was alright. They speak English here too so if you don't understand something, just ask. I did see a lot of native customers here!

The only reason they even grt two stars is because the food tastes good. Rude customer service from Ebrahim the cashier.Last weekend I went to the Saratoga for a meeting and stopped by Rose in Saragota. It had been a few years since I had been there due to moving up the peninsula. I was quickly excited that the food still tasted really good.Today after the gym I decided to head back to grab some more food (you know when you have really good food you crave it for weeks) and to my surprise they are temporarily closed. I called and luckily they had the new location information.I was so excited to have a few of my friends try their food so I ordered 2 chicken Kebabs and I beef. I also ordered a few other things they I probably didn't need but who cares lol. When I received my order it looked different from just a few days ago when I ordered it from Saratoga. The chicken came in separate skewers and a lot more presentable. When I asked why it looked different Ebrahim rudely responded I was lying it looked the same. Why would I lie about how the food was packaged? He had a very bad attitude enough for me to ever consider going back. In conclusion the food is good but they need to work on better customer service.
