It's still a cozy place to eat and the chips and guacamole are top notch. Also, the quesadillas, fajitas and fiesta tostada are still good. Unfortunately the enchiladas and burritos are not the same since they changed cooks. Also, the prices are off the charts.

Situated in the quiet side of the strip mall. The outdoor dining is open and spacious. Service is good and attentive. The menu is quite simple and just the regular Mexican items you get everywhere else. And the price is a bit high. All meat items are 26-28, seafood is 30, fish or shrimp. Even an appetizer salad or soup is $8. We tried the crab burrito which is their special menu. It's loaded with carb meat inside the burrito. A bit fishy and crabby compared to fresh steam crab and there are some small shell bits inside. But I feel like for $28 it's better value than the regular menu items but no wow to make me come back.

It's a pass! if you are vegetarian I'd recommend skipping this place because it's flavorless. It's hard to mess up fajitas but I swear the chef forgot they owned spices or salt. The rice was dry and the beans lacking any sort of flavor. The drinks list is 4 pages of the menu so maybe this is a dive bar spot? the food was so bland. I rarely feel like I want my money back after a meal. Ambiance was ok - very dive-y.

Would you dine indoors at a time when few fully vaccinated? Both times sat outside while the inside was deserted. At that time very few people were fully vaccinated except those age 65+, like us. Hence nobody sitting inside to dine. Place has among the most elaborate outdoor dining patio I have ever seen. See thru glass ceiling and umbrellas to block out the sun, with heavy duty side wall construction, plastic windows, outdoor heating towers, with top of the walls open to let in the ventilation. Very clean and neat. Excellent ambiance for an outdoor setting.March 31 wife ordered the $26 spicy prawns and I the $24 beef frajitas.April 27 I ordered the $24 chicken frajitas and wife the $19 spicy pork carnitas.Good service, with chips and salsa for sit down meals. Excellent presentation of all meals. Both times ordered corn tortillas with my frajitas. My frajitas came with guacamole, sour cream, olive, slice of tomato on lettuce. The refried beans were runny just the way I like it, and the Mexican rice tasty. The meats came with onions, red, green, and yellow bell peppers. Portion of chicken much larger than that of beef, with some gristle in the beef. Tasty but not very spicy. Got to use the salsa from the chips to liven things up. The prawns came with at least 10 good size shrimp, wife's choice of black beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, sour cream, tomato with lettuce and olive. Wife liked the prawns dish but didn't care for the spicy pork dish -and neither did I, as the taste seemed off -pork too old, perhaps. Portion size of meat was average at best, and below average for the beef frajitas, while prices among the highest in the region for these dishes. Portion sizes and prices slightly smaller for lunch, compared to dinner. Both times, we came as soon as dine in was allowed by the county, as the Groupon coupons were only good for dine in. Wanted to use the coupons while the going was good, as no telling when dine in would be prohibited by the County, rendering the Groupon coupons useless. As of 09/19/2021 the $20 Groupon voucher for $9.38 is still in effect.First wife, married 1984-2002, used coupons from newspapers. Second wife, married 2003-current, uses coupons from the internet. I married two coupon ladies, showing what a cheapskate I am.

We have tried this restaurant many times since this is in our neighborhood. We go there more for convenience and a easy quick meal. I don't remember ever leaving and saying "wow-that was a good meal." Visited this week and ordered a chimichanga, a couple house margaritas during happy hour. Wow~that was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a restaurant in a while. My hubby ordered tostada said he was impressed. Maybe I have not ordered their specialties in the past. Can hardly wait to order another chimichanga and happy hour margaritas. They have one of the best salsas which I proceeded to smother my chimi with.*There is a happy hour discount before 5:30 PM.

I don't understand all the negative reviews on this place. I'd say the food isn't the absolute best Mexican food you can get but I do think it deserves 4 stars. The food is good (I usually have Chille Relleno) and the service is friendly and prompt.

I've been a customer for over 20 years. My elderly Hispanic mother loves this place, and they are extremely kind and considerate to her. The menu has a good variety. Excellent margaritas. Their outdoor patio dining got us through the pandemic. One of my favorite local businesses.

This is my third review of The Red Pepper over many years. Mostly I've complained about their high prices but, as prices have soared recently at most restaurants, we decided to dine here tonight as we had a Groupon voucher which stated that we had $20 to spend on food and drinks for two.The food was good ... not amazing but the surprise came with the bill. This establishment now has a practice of subtracting tax from the Groupon allowed amount, so instead of a $20 deduction it was just above an $18 deduction. The servers could do nothing about this as it's programmed into the register. I researched the Groupon tax explanation when I got home and Groupon states in its Merchant Self-Service Agreement that the merchant "shall be responsible for paying all sales and use taxes related to the goods and services described in the offer."One comment from a consumer: -I'm no lawyer but I've owned many a restaurant. The restaurant has sold a coupon to Groupon for $25. That is what they pay tax on- 25/1.08 if the rate is 8%. Whoever redeems the coupon pays no tax, they get the food free and the free food is a business expense to the restaurant for marketing.Posted by: Tom Kelly The service tonight started out decently but once the food came we were essentially forgotten. It took forever to get boxes and the bill and there were only two other occupied tables. The time has come to patronize other restaurants in the neighborhood serving Mexican cuisine.
