Porridge King

It's an alright place for some quick Cantonese style food. Prices has steadily increase to the point where I think Panda Express provides a better value. It's not bad but it's not greatQuality of life has been improved as they now finally accept cards as payment since it used to be only cash only business. Menu has also been updated.

It's been years since I've been back here and I can't believe the quality of this place has gone so downhill. 1. The dishes are already way too expensive l, averaging $15-20 per dish no matter what. 2. Bland food. How can salt & pepper flounder be so bland? How can crispy house noodle with sauce be so bland? Where's the seasoning/msg?3. Slow service, only a handful of dine -in customers, our friend's dishes came first and my dish took an extra 20 min.4. For a table of 4, 4 dish is already $85 and tip was mandatory on the bill. Cash preferred otherwise extra 3% on card. This place is now a total ripoff.

Ordered the following items:Surf clam: This was pretty goodGarlic chicken: Half a fried chicken with fried garlic on top. A little dry, but decent for the price.Shrimp and egg chow fun: The sauce was thick and gooey; Lacked wok hay. Salted fish and diced chicken fried rice: Average; Not a lot of salted fishUnfortunately, the food is just not good here. Cannot recommend this place.

The porridge was decent, duck was super flavorful, eggplant iron pot well seasoned, service was fine, price is cheap, not sure why reviews are so negative.

Foods are not oily, food taste good. Services are a little slow, but worth the wait because foods are tasty. Space inside is ok fits enough people, at the fast food side it's cash only so carry cash if you want BBQ pork and stuff

This place has really gone downhill. We get there as a party of 4 on a weekday afternoon. There are a couple other tables and several waiters on duty. No one approaches us to take our order for about 20-25min. we have to flag someone down. One of the other two tables has a similar complaint. We place our order. my dish never arrives. I overhear them speaking in cantonese, they screwed up and never put the order in the system. The guy comes back and apologizes and blames it on a power outage (nonsense). We eventually get the check and they charged us a whole chicken price for half a chicken. We have them correct it. The bill comes back as $15.95 for a $13.95 dish wonton noodle soup. they double check and make another adjustment. This time they claim the menu was just changed to reflect lower prices. I give them a 10% tip regardless of all this, and the guy comes back to confront me about why its so little. YOU ARE LUCKY YOU GOT ANY TIP AT ALL. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO A TIP. CHECK YOUR BILL THRICE IF YOU PLAN ON DINING HERE.

First time visiting Porridge King, and I'm really impressed! The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is great. One unique thing about this place is that they allow you to bring in seafood for them to cook. I picked up a fresh crab from 99 Ranch, and they prepared an amazing salted egg crab--100/100, so good! Definitely coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Take out or eat in. Porridge king gets it done quick. Prices have gotten more expensive over the years. What happened to cheap Chinese food?! But oh well, it gets the job done. Food quality is OK. Nothing to rave about. But the roast duck is good. I like the duck with a lot of meat and they normally have a good selection. The porridge comes out hot. The places is called Porridge King obviously. The porridge comes with small strips of ginger, so it may or not be your flavor.

My favorite local Chinese cafe spot. Idk why the reviews are so bad. They have the best roasted duck in the area !
