Don't eat here. Full stop. Trust me. There's a better place a fifth of a mile away called slice of homage. And shit if you can't make it that far, even Pizza my Heart is better than this.OK let's go, there's no love in this pizza. They don't want to be there and it's obvious. Like literally, they work at a restaurant right across from the pizza place. I honestly can't blame them. Working in food is tough, grueling sometimes even. However, be upfront about it, call yourself something obvious, like Pizza Way or something. The food was sad. The tomato sauce isn't red, more like a darkish hue indicative of a sad tomato. Perhaps even foreshadowing of your upcoming meal. It has scum bubbles like an unpure broth. The cheese flops around your bloody pizza soup as if it was an afterthought and the only saving grace, the basil, is used sparingly. Service: They literally weren't there. I was told it was closed when it wasn't, and when I told them I ordered pick-up, she smiled at me and went about her business. Which should be fine. I don't need to be talked to perse, but I did assume she was going to help me get my pizza that I ordered.....But no. She went from the Mexican restaurant across the way, passed me to go into the pizza shop, roughly acknowledged me, and grabbed something from the pizza shop to go back to the Mexican joint. There's an unmarked pizza box in front of me but she didn't tell me if it was mine or Denzel Washington's. So I stood there waiting..... Until finally I folded and opened up the box to find my bloody pizza soup with a topping of string cheese. In the lighting of the building I must admit, it did look ok. But once I was home and tried it, it was gross.I was left wanting for a little Caesars Pizza. Or anything really. Anything that wasn't Pizza Way.

Pizza with a Mexican twist! When I first moved to California I got used to seeing Indian-fusion pizza, but funnily enough this was my first time have a Mexican-fusion pizza.Came here on a day where they advertised on their Instagram that all pizzas were $10 for the day as long as you showed the Instagram post. In this economy, that's a steal... so ditched out original dinner plans and opted for pizza. It was also a good excuse to explore Christmas in the Park on a weekday.LOGISTICSLocated as SoFA in Downtown San Jose, street parking only and the location is inside a food court-esque dining hall. You can order on the tablet or order directly with them. The pizzas are made fresh so they may take awhile to come out after ordering (in our case it was a little over 15 min), but they come out SUPER hot. If you let them know you're dining in, they'll be sure to provide plates so you can eat your piping hot pizza onsite.FOODThey serve both sandwiches and pizza, and they also have regular pizza flavors like pepperoni, Hawaiian, combo, etc. However, we wanted to try something different from the typical pizza so we went for their Mexican fusion flavors. Crust on both pizzas was quite thick but soft on the inside ; reminded me of the crusts you'd find at chain pizzas like Domino's and Pizza Hut.Birria Pizza: I've seen Birria ramen but had yet to try Birria pizza. They served the consomme on the side, so instead of dipping the taco you're dipping a pizza slice. The Birria itself tasted pretty average compared to other places I've been... but hey, it was on a pizza. It lacked the same flavor punch I've experienced with other Birria food items.Al Pastor Pizza: A good al pastor topping with seasoned shredded pork, cilantro, and pineapple. In terms of overall flavor we preferred the Al Pastor pizza more. It was more savory but balanced - the pineapple added a nice sweetness to cut into the salt, grease, and spice. The spice / seasoning on the pork worked really well with the pizza mozzarella.Side Note: If you decide to dine in here... you will need to buy a drink. They aren't able to provide drinking water for dine-in customers.OVERALL Pizza Way fills the pizza gap at SoFA - the pizza is hot and fresh, and even at regular price they are quite large. I can't speak for their other pizzas, and one pizza was better than the other on our visit... but I'd rate this more a 3.5 stars, on the higher scale. One pizza is probably enough to share between two people, we struggled and were abnormally full eating 2 pizzas between 2 people (worth it). Prices may seem high but they seem to be in line with other specialty pizza places. At least some flavors are interesting, particularly the Mexican fusion ones.Be sure to follow them on Instagram for special deals/promos in the future and support a local business!

It's great to have a pizza option inside the SoFA Market food hall again. Pizza Way opened last month and is serving some fresh and delicious wood-fired pies. Got a customized pizza (pepperoni, mushroom, and jalapenos), and was happy with the quality of the ingredients. Plenty of mozzarella, yet not too cheesy, fairly light on the tomato sauce (but that's the way I like it), and each of the toppings had great flavor to create the perfect savory meal, especially those jalapenos, both green and red peppers added a good spice. The pizza here is not loaded, but at least it doesn't fall apart, the crust with a slightly smoky flavor and just the right char. When ordering, the employee was friendly and said the pizzas only come in one size "9 inches"... when I received it (about ten minutes later), it was more like 12 inches, and cut into four large slices. One thing to note is the menu at the storefront and online does not allow customers or specify how to customize pizzas (add/remove individual toppings)... but it's definitely easy to order in person and ask for it just the way you like it. Also, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at the SoFA Market food court. And only street parking.

Nothing else was open in downtown SJ except for this little food hall. Pizza way was my choice others in my group tried other things. I had the birria pizza. It was quite good. You could grab a meal from any of the food court options and then sit in the bar and enjoy your food. You could also grab a drink at the full bar if that's on your menu. Pizza is not my go to typically but I would go back.

Have ordered the Al Pastor and Prosciutto, both were delicious. The crust is just the right thickness and the freshness is on point. No greasiness that makes you queasy like other chains! The quality of ingredients results in a super tasty and satisfying meal! Be careful, it's addicting.

This place is amazing to go to if you're looking for a nice mix up! My boyfriend loved the Birria pizza, and the consome the pizza came with was delicious. I got the Al Pastor and it was absolutely delicious. I've tried both of the pizzas with and without red sauce and I personally recommend without the red sauce since I felt the combination is a bit weird with it but my boyfriend didn't mind it. The pizzas are also a bit on the smaller side so if you're hungry or hosting a party I'd buy a few! Overall everything was delicious and we will be back!

The birria pizza is definitely my new favorite pizza!! The pizza is super flavorful and the pizza dough is just perfect. You can either go with your traditional Pizza or switch it up a little with a Mexican touch. The customer service is amazing. Definitely 10/10

We ordered a pizza, it was delivered cold and the delivery driver did not deliver the sparkling water. We had to drive back to the place to pick up the sparkling water. And they weren't willing to discount anything.

Had a wonderful time at the SoFA in downtown San Jose. Pizza Way created a delightful pizza experience. They made a nice pizza to fit my ladyfriends dietary needs. Their crust was very tasty. The presence of a full bar on premises was a nice touch.
