Get over to Piccino! We went for dinner. Arrived a little early for our reservation so grabbed a drink at Bar Piccino next door. Great vibes. In summer they have outdoor seating and you can order drinks and bites from the bar menu to enjoy. We moved over to the restaurant for our reservation. We have the lasagna, bolognese, and salsicca pizza. All delicious! The only bummer was we forgot our doggy bag, and when we went back to grab it it was gone. We'll be back!

Got invited to a small get together at Piccino. I had actually never been to this cute little neighborhood in the dog patch. The restaurant itself is quite expansive with a separate bar area as well as ample sitting outside. The staff that greeted and seated us were very pleasant. Our server wasn't very attentive though. It took him a long time to take our order and he got a few things wrong. The food was just ok. The margarita pizza wasn't very flavorful. The pasta dishes were pretty good but the pasta was a bit watery for some reason. The drinks were good. Dessert was decent. We started off impressed with the looks of the restaurant as well as the friendly host staff. And it just kind of slowly went downhill from there. It seems like they could have potential if they make some adjustments. Might try it again at some point but for now, it won't be on the top of my list.

Food wasn't up to par for the price point. There's not that fine a line between al dente and undercooked but the pasta was, nonetheless, undercooked. The duck confit wasn't confit- it was overcooked and dry. The dessert was overly-frozen to the point of being difficult to cut into. The service was fast, and the ambiance was excellent but for that price point the food was underwhelming, at best.

Piccino is a great Italian restaurant with a highly diverse menu. While their pasta portions appear to be small they are hefty. Overall I'd say prices are a bit steep for quantity of food.Quality however was incredible. Their thin crust pizzas, appetizers, and cocktails were lovely. We had a great time as a group of 8 celebrating our friends birthday. It was a memorable time and I would love to be back to try more of their food on their menu!

Piccino is one of the restaurants that welcomed my partner and I to San Francisco when we moved here years ago, and I can't believe I didn't review it til now - because when someone asks us our favorite place, we always point them here. This is where I always bring out of towners - when my parents flew into SF for their first visit in years, this was our first stop. Piccino is delicious Italian cooking, with the fresh ingredients and local seasonal flavors you expect from a great SF/California restaurant. The ticketed events here are also splendid. We've been to a few of them, and the pig roast last year was a lifelong food memory for me. And just a joyful celebration of community and local camaraderie like can be hard to find in these digital, disconnected modern days. The food here is all fantastic, and the menu changes regularly - and the desserts, especially are standouts. The attached bar is also a great, cozy vibe, and we love the downstairs section. Even on nights where we are out in Dogpatch for a meal elsewhere, we wind up here for a drink after! The patio is always a great place to eat in the summer, and the dining room is warm and spacious. I love sitting at the chef's counter - everyone who works here, kitchen and front of house, is so friendly and welcoming. Thanks Piccino, for all the great meals and memories!

Super disappointed in the service here. Other than our poor experience, the food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. We were treated extremely rudely by our waitress. We came to celebrate a birthday and left feeling terribly disappointed. A few people in our party received stained coffee mugs (see photos) and asked to exchange them. The waitress responded snarkily and rudely, saying the cups were just splattered, and replaced our cups with curtness and aggression. We didn't feel comfortable asking her for anything else, especially considering that this request did not seem difficult or overly cumbersome. It sucked feeling this way when we were looking forward to eat here. Other than that, the food was delicious. I highly recommend the sweet potato pizza and the polpette. I would return if not for the poor service.

Cane by for a casual weekday lunch on my own. Arrived not too late after opening so it wasn't too busy. Opted for an outdoor seat on their parklet as it was a beautiful day. Kept it simple with a pasta and cocktail:chiocciole - fennel pork sausage, braised kale, parmigiano, pangratta - savory pasta with sausage. Noodle was well cooked with a good bite. Sausage was flavorful and well balanced with the kale mixed in. Really enjoyed this dish. summer americano - cocchi americano, lemon, ginger, prosecco - really refreshing cocktail that was light and easy to drink. Perfect afternoon pairing to my dish.My waiter was really friendly and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Only thing was that my food arrived before my drink, which didn't arrive until I was almost half way done eating so do just wish that it arrived earlier so I could enjoy it with my food more.

Checked this place out with a small group dinner. It's lovely inside and has a private room for events. Everyone was friendly and showed us to our seats right away. Food came out quickly and everything was so good. We started with the olives and focaccia bread. I don't even like olives much and these were great. They had a great marinade and not too briny. The bread was soft in the middle and a nice light crisp to the outside with quality olive oil. Next we had the winter greens salad and roasted beet salad. All the dishes looked so nice and picture perfect. I liked the roasted beet a bit better but didn't really have any greens. The winter green salad was mostly all greens. A good mix/balance of toppings and greens if you mixed them together. Then we had the margherita pizza and funghi pizza. The crust was nice and thin. Good topping ratio and everything was fresh. We also had the beef short ribs and were so tender and flavorful. The polenta balanced it out nicely. We had zeppoles for dessert. These were nice and light and had a nice thjn compote/sauce as well. I appreciated their selection of non alcoholic beverages too. I'd definitely come back and was happy to check out Piccino!

For dinner, my friend and I shared the scallop crudo, beet salad, ricotta gnocchi, and chiocciole. The scallop crudo was the weirdest combination of flavors.. it came with kiwi on top and a spicy mala sauce. The chioccciole was undercooked and the gnocchi was mushy and salty. Beet salad was refreshing, though not a must get. Would not recommend Piccino.
