Long overdue review We have been coming to this restaurant for decades when Mike still owned the business. We have had a number of big gatherings here where we have utilized their banquet room. Recently, I have made a reservation for their banquet room (12 - 3 pm) for Jan. 30 for 8 tables = 80 people. We celebrated my brother's life. Karen (manager) worked with us creating a menu within our budget per table (10 guests per). We had chicken corn soup, a whole roasted duck, combo bbq pork & roasted pork belly, whole steamed fish, beef w/ broccoli, pan fried combo noodles, sweet & sour pork, mixed veggies w/ garlic sauce & steamed rice. The presentation of each menu was great and tasted wonderfully, as usual. Food was served by 12:15 pm. AND, they were hustling . I apologize for not having any pics. Absolutely, no one took any . Everyone got busy wolfing down the food . I would just like to THANK KAREN & STAFF for making this event a lot less stressful & a wonderful event for our family.

My parents and I have been coming to this location for dimsum for many many years. It's conveniently located near the 580 highway. I definitely recommend making reservations for weekends as they get pretty busy. Like may dimsum places, it can get loud but that's the charm! The food is always good, delicious and more affordable compared to other dimsum options in the Bay Area. Would recommend coming here!

Love dim sum!Im gonna go off of what I usually call the foodsHar gow: was deliciousFun guo: not a fan of it, but normally am not a fan of fun guos in generalBbq pork bun: i didnt tryShrimp churn fun: I love churn funs in general, restaurants always have that delicious soy sauce to go with it too. This isnt the best Ive had but cant complain when I get churn funPork rib churn fun: not a fan, Im a hater of any churn fun that isnt shrimp. It looks high quality, juicy. Why are there bones, how do you eat this. Bbq pork churn fun: not a fan either obviously but better than the one with bones. The pork flavor is too overpoweringSteamed beef ball: love it, cant give a good review cause dont remember much about itChicken feet: didnt try it. If ur new to this dish. Personally I dont like all the bones but it does taste really good. But the bones are a deal breaker for me. Eating around so many bonesBeef flank churn fun claypot: looks pretty, more expensive too. But cant get over the chewiness. The beef gets stuck in your teeth too. Didnt try the rice rolls insideEgg custard bun: didnt try. Pan fried chives dumpling: didnt tryHoney walnut prawns: winner, never had a problem with this dish. Always tasty and delicious. ExtraSuper cheap place for dim sumTbh the only review u should listen from me is the churn fun. Cause I care about that the most5/5 cheap dim sum place

Oriental Tea House has been around since I was a kid and a good option for dim sum in the East Bay. Dim sum is usually not my first option but will always indulge with friends/family on the variety of sweet and savory, baked, steamed, fried, roasted and sautéed items. Visited on a weekday (after Christmas) about 30 mins after opening. Even though they open at 10, the owners were still setting up and waiting for staff to arrive...not sure if the norm. Paper menus to mark your items, wave a server to place your order and then food delivered after about 10 minsPlace has been remodeled since I last visited but still the same, no nonsense service. You may even witness yelling across the dining room (as you quickly turn around to see what's going on) only to find out the staff arguing. Not uncommon...lol Fortunately, everyone who helped us was friendly with straightforward service.Items ordered were prepared nicely, light, flavorful, crisp, not oily and delicious. 8 items approx $75 with tax...then the restaurant will charge you a service fee of 15% for lunch and 18% for dinner. Up for debate if that's the tip or not. :/ Lot parking but will fill up by 12pm. A good option for dim sum in the San Leandro area, right off I-580. Bathroom: C+ - floors clean (at opening), paper towel roll by the sink, bright pink soap in a recycled Germ X container

Whenever you want a cheap tasty fast DIMSUM treat, come here. It's always delicious and they have the biggest variety of DIMSUM. We came on a Sunday and was seated right away as they have two large rooms. The service is fast and no frills. The DIMSUM taste fresh and is fried perfectly.

One wait person and he must have walked by our table 50 times to check on us since they had only two tables of guests. He changed our plates since we ordered crab and those shells take up the whole plate. The menu suggested different ways so we chose fried with salted eggs and with kabocha squash. The crab meat wasn't sweet but there's meat. Next dish was crispy noodle with fish and bok choy. Portions were good for three and we got to doggie box. Eggplant with chicken and salted fish. Restaurant eggplant is so yummy. At the end of our meal we got offered red bean soup (not too sweet). They have air conditioning so it got a bit cold but the hot tea was good. They will include 18% in all their bills. They have lunch specials and week day specials. Good that i wasn't very thirsty afterwards so msg was minimal.

Its our first time here recommended by my hubby's co worker and turned out okay. It's huge too because looking from the outside you would think it's just a hole in the wall kind of space! They even have a karaoke stage I think?! It's just a small one though and even has a private room if you want to have a private party. There's 4 of us and we kind of order a little too much lol!! Dimsum: chicken feet/steamed short ribs/siumai/soft tofu roll then peking duck which was $28.99 for a whole one but you slice them yourself though. It was a little challenging plus messy cause they don't give you the right knife to slice it so it was a little struggle. We also had the brocolli, salted fish fried rice which was a little too salty, salt and pepper pork chop, sweet and sour pork which is not on the menu so I think they just improvised by adding sweet sour sauce but without pineapple and bell peppers. So this is disappointing. The staff service is really good but the communication with them is really challenging too so you have to make sure to repeat and clarify what you're ordering. Roast pork is good. Yellow chicken is good. Some of them have big servings and their price is fair and reasonable. There's a lot of room for improvement and I want to come back again for the 2nd time to update my review so for now, I am only giving 3.5 star. Let's see when I come back.

Used to come here for dim sum, but i haven't had time for dim sum lately. This review is for their promo rice plates! For 9.99 you can get the bbq chicken and 10.99 for the duck. It's a great value here as they fill up the to-go boxes. Lots of rice and good portion of protein. These are to-go only, but still a great deal if you're looking for a quick and cheap bite.

It's been awhile since I came here for dimsum. Came on a Saturday morning. Was seated right away. My friends and I ordered various things to share. They provided you a sheet and you mark what you like to order. Food came out piping hot. My fave was the Portuguese egg tart and siu mai and ha gao. Reminder: they automatically add gratuity charge on your bill but if you feel generous, you can also give more.
