To go order:4/10 Lanzhou Beef Handmade Noodles - Bowl came with 90% noodles. There's exactly 4 thin pieces of meat which is horrible protein portion ratio. Noodles also seemed low quality. They were not chewy but rather more like spaghetti pasta. Broth was mid. Overall highly do not recommend.

Wanted to support rare Chinese cuisines. The Chinese "burger" was too spicy and a bit too oily too.The Uyghur noodle was too oily as well, same for mutton fried rice (this was my favorite in Uyghur restaurants).

Northwest China Cuisine opened where a pho biz once was. decor minimalist. service the same. upon entrance, was quickly greeted by "manager"/owner?. order taken and food brought out by members of the kitchen who are wearing their white kitchen aprons, not waitstaff attire...QR codes doesn't work/buggy. ordered on staff tablet. prices much higher than posted on internet. offerings: seafood, beef, lamb, salad, house specials, owner's recommendations, soup, salads, appetizers.eats:cumin lamb (16.90)-a mix of a few large tender lamb pieces and small fried chewy lamb bits, all immersed with globs of chili oil, cumin flavoring. green onions, chopped chili pods. entree had no spiciness.liang pi-shanghai cold noodles (9.80)-cold noodles mixed with lots of heatless chili oil, carrot shreds, cucumber slices, fried tofu. good portions...didn't expect chili oil....not spicydidn't order rice, wasn't asked if i wanted any.. tea free, basically tea bag with hot water. 3.5 stars doubtful repeat. quality lacking. chili oil wasn't "hot", not even burning sensation. no mala here. leftovers:-large parking lot-gets busy noonish..-one of toilets didn't have toilet paper...-kids are running around near rear entrance. not child care, probably related to owner/employees...

Your [below] average mom and pop Chinese restaurant. The owners are very friendly, but the food is average and the service is very slow. Food was on the salty side and the "burgers" we ordered were dry. The dessert we ordered was a date sticky rice but they did not remove the pits in the dates and I nearly chipped a tooth biting into it. I would not go back again.

My wife went here and said the Liang PI was solid. She brought me home a spicy meat dish (I believe it is cumin beef) which was amazing. Now we have plans to go back and I will give them a complete go. High hopes and the return visit.

This place has opened for a while but never got any interest in visiting bc its indoor environment doesn't look very inviting! But we finally went today because some of our coworkers highly recommended it. Well, they are right!! The noodles are hand pulled, very chewy texture and the soup just right, flavorful but too overwhelming. Another good thing is I don't think they use any MSG, no dry mouth after the meal.Highly recommended for hand pull noodle fans!

This is the BEST Northern Chinese food I've had in the Bay Area.Authentic and really good Chinese food generally has a 2.5 -3.5 rating on Yelp for 2 reasons:- Most of the Chinese people who know the authentic stuff are finding these places on other apps in Chinese, word of mouth and don't use Yelp.- Don't pay Yelp for promotions and struggle with translation and technology. Y So you're left with reviews from people who get upset about not finding orange chicken on the menu, complain about service, or don't know that Chinese food has multiple regions and therefore don't know what to get. Also, I find that Asians tend to be more critical in ratings for Chinese food so anyways, so if you LOVED the food, but left 3 stars...consider changing things up b/c you're literally helping to kill locally owned, authentic places...Because what you'll get is a bunch of Asian places that have 4/5 stars that are bigger chains or for an Americanized palette. This pushes out the unique and more delicious and authentic mom-and-pop places, which is a shame. Now on to the food.------If you want carby, lamby goodness. COME HERE. Also to educate yourself you can look up Northwestern Chinese food (which also borders Chinese Islamic or Uyghur food) for the best things to get the menu. There shou zhua (lamb ribs) are the BEST I've had. Obvi is also good for Liang Pi. I'm excited to try the big plate chicken and other lamb things. They also had a peanut, jujube sticky rice that I loved. (Healthier than 8 treasure rice - no lard). The rice was the softest I've ever had - generally the stuff in restaurants taste like it came out of a can and is dryer due to oversteaming or being from a can.Yelp hours are wrong. We came over on Saturday at 5pm and got takeout.Google says they are open until 7pm.

This place brings me back to China. Anyone has spent any significant time in China will recognize the flavors as being authenticEven the novice will register that it is delicious without having to process it too much. We tried the chicken noodles, sauteed chrysanthemum leaves, beef non spicy soup, and the Liang pi. So fricken good. The non spicy beef soup base is clean and subtle. The others will hit you with flavor like a ton of bricks. It's spicy but not Indian food spicy. It's manageable. All their noodles are handpulled. Can't go wrong. Pro tip: it's a QR code menu. 4g network is terrible so sign into the wifi first. The password is under the QRcode. If you have an android, select the Chinese text and it was ask you if you want to translate it for you. You're welcome...

Happened to be in the area and found this place and SO GLAD I did! Ordered the lanzhou noodles with beef and fried noodles with beef. Both were so delicious. Best noodle and beef soup I've had! If I lived closer I would be here monthly. Nice people and nice atmosphere. Nothing fancy but the food is on point.
