Nice HK cafe vibes . parking was a bit hard to find during lunch hour. waited 45 minutes but the food was worth the wait. Salted fish and pork rice - good amounts of salted fish, not a the dry kind and has a good flavor and texture. 4/5 2 Rice noodle (shrimp and bbq pork ea) - comes with 2 choices of free toppings . We got corn and green onions - frozen corn didn't go too well but noodles were super thin. 3/5 Beef wrapped in noodle - 3.5/5HK milk tea- 4/5

Tried this place for an early brunch recently when my brother and I took mom to her doctor's appointment only to find out the doctor was on vacation and didn't bother to call us to reschedule the appointment we booked way back in July.My brother and SIL often dine here since they have such amazing deals. One can get a jook, side chow mein and HK milk tea for $11.99. The milk tea is only offered with the food from 8-11 a.m. so if you don't care about that, come after 11 a.m. to avoid the crowds.Four of us ordered a preserved egg jook with side of chow mein, beef rice roll, chicken feet and spareribs rice and a som see chow mi fun to share. There was plenty of food, enough to bring home leftovers to my hubby. Total cost was around $40. I enjoyed all the dishes. The place is clean and new. The only minus one star is many of the servers are rude and impolite. Sometimes expected for a Chinese, no frills restaurant but I still don't like it. Def a return for me.

We like Three Star for to go dim sum, so figured we'd check out Noriega Star. Quite busy when we arrived on Sunday at around noon, but we were able to snag a table. We ordered:1) Jook - My fave is the pork and preserved egg jook and the one here was good. Also ordered the chicken and mushroom one and SILs liked it. Good flavor - didn't need to add anything to it.2) Chinese donut rice noodle roll - the rice noodle is so thin and the donut was crispy. Good. Not sure if they added peanut sauce to the top. Kiddos have an allergy so they didn't try this.3) Dumplings - Xiao Long Bao and pork and cabbage - they were ok. Nothing in particular stood out about them.4) Chicken feet and blackbean sparerib rice noodle roll - It was ok5) Soy sauce noodles - They use ramen noodles rather than the think egg noodles. It was ok.6) Sesame balls - Hot and crispy! Yum!7) Hom Sui Gok - Hot and crispy! Also Yum! 8) Fried taro cake - SILs liked this dish. I prefer the turnip cakes instead.9) Milk teas - Served in large cups/mini bowls. Perfect amount of sweetness.Other than bringing us our dishes, they don't check on you. We had to request the bill when we were done but they were friendly. Food was ok, overall - nothing necessarily stood out but we'd return when wanting dimsum.

My parents wanted to try this place, and I'm so glad we did! It's officially going to be a staple for us whenever we're craving HK café food. The standout for me was their rice noodles--they're incredibly unique and reminded me of the ones I've had in New York. We also ordered a porridge, beef chow fun, and two types of rice noodles. Everything was flavorful and fresh.I was so excited to dig in that I completely forgot to take pictures--definitely a rookie mistake, but a testament to how good the food is! And let me tell you, their hot sauce is actually HOT (in the best way possible). This spot checks all the boxes for authentic HK café vibes and delicious dishes. Highly recommend!

Our friend recommended this spot for rice rolls. So we decided to check it out! Parking can be difficult during lunchtime and most spots are metered. You can find some spaces around the residential streets, but you may have to walk a few blocks. In a nutshell, this place serves dim sum dishes, steamed rice bowls and rice noodle rolls. Service was typical for a Chinese restaurant. You get tea when you sit down. No choice of tea since it's free. I believe they served us Jasmine tea. ***OUR PICKS***SHRIMP RICE NOODLE ROLLS (ADDED CORN AND GREEN ONIONS) ~ these were thin noodles with a soft, silky texture. I've never had corn with this and it added a little sweetness. The picture showed vegetables, but there wasn't any in the actual dish. 4/5BEEF STEW WITH STEAMED RICE ~ tender beef stew with 2-3 stalks of Chinese green vegetables. Tasty dish and beef was soft and cooked well. You could taste each grain of jasmine rice. 4/5CHICKEN FEET AND PORK RIBS WITH STEAMED RICE ~ 2 dim sum dishes put together on top of jasmine rice. Very good! I just wish there were more vegetables in this carb filled dish. But they did give a good amount of meat. 4/5We will definitely come back to try dim sum on the menu! Portions are generous and prices are reasonable!

Another Asian cafe? Heck yes! I honestly was drawn to come here because they serve the kind of rice rolls I really like. You know the kind that's super thin and made when you order? My partner and I also got a few other items and were very impressed by how delicious each dish was. They have some stale dim sum items, steam rice baskets with assorted canto toppings like beef brisket, sausage, spareribs etc. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I don't recall what was here before, but the owners did a full renovation so the space feels new, updated and very open.

TLDR:Excellent Cantonese Breakfast/Brunch Cuisine starring their specialty Steamed Rice Noodles and other dim sum specialties. Clean unfancy practical vibe.I N T R O :The Outer Sunset on the West side of San Francisco features two little "Chinatowns" that are both busy and vibrant - located on Irving Street and on Noriega Street. On Noriega, near the corner of 33rd Ave., you will find a bright new orange awning proclaiming "Noriega Star Restaurant". Opened just a few months ago, inside you'll find a spartan brightly lit interior with high ceilings and simple vinyl seating and tables. The ambiance is decidedly un-fancy, stressing the practical and casual in favor of making the food the star.Service is courteous but to the point. There is usually just one waitress, and two bus persons on duty, so you have to be a little patient if the place is a bit busy, which it usually is, during the three separate times we've been here so far. Once you have your order, you have to flag them down for tea or water refills. So be forewarned.T H E F O O D :The star of the show here is their selection of excellent steamed rice noodles prepared from scratch and served with your choice of meat fillings (BBQ Char Siu Pork, Fresh Shrimp, Dried Shrimp, Ground Pork, Ground Beef, Beef Stew or Pork Liver), to which you can also add two free toppings of any of the following:corn, sprouts, cilantro, green onion, mushroom and/or lettuce. What makes the rice noodles different here from other places is the PERFECTLY thin elastic nearly transparent texture of their scratch made rice noodle rolls. You can see this when the noodles are stretched out on your chopstick like a cheese pull. It's SUPER good, and very reminiscent of the best places like Joe's Rice Roll back in NYC/Flushing! The special soy sauce is light and not oversalted. Totally On Point. They also have a high quality selection of other dim sum (like what you a get up the street at Three-Star - same owners) and Steamed Rice Plates. The only thing that was a "miss" for us was their Fish Porridge. We just didn't like the texture of the fish, as it was not very tender. As for Dim Sum, we always get the 家鄉鹹水角 - Home Style Deep Fried Puff with Pork Filling. Pronounced "Ham Sui Gok" - It's a wonderful deep fried mochi with a yummy pork filling. You get 4 to an order. It's best to ask the waitress to snip them and in half for bite-and-a-half size portions before serving.G E T T I N G H E R E :By Car: Angled parking spaces are available all along this section of Noriega St. Generally speaking, parking is not as bad as in other places in SF, but can be a little challenging if you want a parking space right out in front. Your best bet is drive around the block and find free parking in the neighborhood. Just be sure NOT to obstruct any driveway. By transit, the Muni 7 bus traverses Noriega with a stop one block away in either direction. Yep.. Noriega Star is definitely now on our regular rotation of casual places to grab a bite for breakfast/brunch/late lunch on this side of town!

I was craving something new, and since they have been open for some time, I wanted to check them out. I came in around midafternoon on a weekday, which is okay but not so busy. The service was so-so; they refreshed the place, which felt nice and bright inside. The orange seats matched the company colors. The food is like a blend of dim sum and HK Tea house type. They have stuff like HK milk tea and porridge (jook). Some of the food is ok and favoring is not bad. It's pretty typical, but the service can be a bit better. I will probably give it another try.

This place is really close to me, but this was my first time here. I had heard they had really good cheung fun, so when a friend said we'd go to lunch in my neighborhood, I suggested Noriega Star Restaurant and we were both glad I did! They have a whole variety of cheung fun and at a pretty reasonable price. Neither one of us was overly hungry so we opted for just two orders of cheung fun, the BBQ pork one and the shrimp one. You're supposed to be able to choose two other veggies or garnishes to go with the cheung fun but we only got to choose one with each (don't know why!). We had the shrimp with mushrooms and the bbq pork with green onions. They were both excellent; the fun was very tender and the fillings sufficient. The sauce to go over each was brought out in a mini pitcher so you can pour it over your fun while you eat or pour it over the whole dish. Each cheung fun was $6.50 and, being that we weren't famished, we had leftovers to take home. I will definitely return to try more cheung fun and the other items on their menu. Everything other diners had at their tables looked very appetizing and the portions are big. Can't wait to go again!
