I was super excited to see a teo chow like place in San Jose. So I had to try it very much so. I got the wonton noodle soup combo with half egg noodles and half rice noodles. The broth tasted clean, chicken meat was surprisingly tender. Especially for it being white meat! The rest of the meat in the combo was okay, wished there was more seasoning in the wonton. I would say just get the rice noodles, the egg noodles tasted okay but at the same time it didn't taste like normal egg noodles. Not sure how to properly verbalize it. All in all I would definitely come back again. Can't go wrong with the price for a big hearty noodle soup bowl for under $15!! One of the best value in the Bay for all the noodles and meat variety you get!

What drew me to New Tung Kee Noodle House was 2 main reasons: noodle soup on a chilly day and the pricing. This location is tucked in the corner of a plaza with ample free parking. Inside you'll see the restaurant has seating that's a mix of booth seating for pairs or small groups and larger booths to hold 8-10 people. Unsure if this is their usual process, immediately walking through the door, one of the workers will direct you to sit at a specific table. Each table has a number on it. Tables have utensils and condiments.Their menu contains Chinese, Vietnamese, and either dry or soup noodles with pricing ranging from $11-$15 a dish. I ordered the #9 Combo Won Ton Noodle Soup with half flat rice noodles and half egg noodles. After placing the order, my food come out piping hot in 5 minutes or less! The soup broth was delicious and comforting while the won ton and meat ratio was pretty even. There was about 5-6 won tons, 2 meat balls, ground pork, 2 shrimp, beef slices, and really tender chicken pieces (the most tender I've had in a bowl of soup in a long time!). The bowl size was decent - all devoured within 15-20 minutes. After eating, you'll pay for your meal at the counter and they'll ask if you want to include tip if you're using a credit card. If you can't stop and eat in, take out is welcome - I saw plenty of orders being picked up. Either way, you can't go wrong with a quick meal with some of the most affordable pricing for noodle soup in the Bay Area. Check out this spot if you're in the neighborhood!

This place is no frills and the food is good. I knock 1 star off due to the fact that when you check out the lady asks if you want to leave a tip before she rings you up and I felt pressured to do so even though there really isn't much service to speak of and the machine defaults the tip to 18%, good thing I had some cash. Got the #9 which was hot a fresh. Can't complain about the quality.

Giving one star for the rude service by the cashier lady who was ringing me up. She was blatant in asking I would be paying tips by cash and I said no, I was paying by credit card. She asked me how much tip I was going to give and I stated my number and she was the nerve to try to get me to add one more dollar to the tip. I said no I'm set on the tip amount that I stated. Feel like the customer service definitely lacks here. I'm fair with giving tips for any dine-in place but given the poor service I don't need to tip the next time.Apparently this restaurant has been here for decades but at least they can show some care for customers than act greedy. The food was okay, nothing to write home about.

If you're gonna give this less than 5 stars, you need to be more respectful to Bay Area culture. TK noodle is the Bay Area. Been going to TK joints for 30 years...and they are the best.#1 or #2...and the order one of the egg flour cakes or egg daikon...then you're good. It used to be cheaper...but still willing to pay that new Bay Area price for something good like this .

The lady at the cashier was rude when I was paying. As soon as I went up to pay she pointed at the tip jar and seemed like she wasn't going to let me pay unless I left a tip first. I usually leave a good tip because of the service I receive but there wasn't much Service provided here and felt pressured even tho I was going to leave a tip anyways. I tipped 3 dollars for the unkind greedy service of the lady at the front. I usually tip above 15 depending on the size party but this was ridiculous. Also as I finished paying we went to sit back down as we were waiting for a friend in the bathroom and the lady and man looked at us exchanged some words and started laughing. besides the service the food was okay it lacked flavor in the broth and the meet was tuff.

Tried the fried taro for the first time at this location and it is very good. Great starchy dish that is good with lots of sauce and chili oil. Love the texture and taste of taro in this dish and lots of calories if you are hungry.

Got soup and the pad Thai. Staff brought out a piece of lemon on a fork and handed me the fork. When I asked for basil, he sneered and me and gave me a look like I was stupid. The pad Thai noodles were soggy, had no peanuts and no heat. Waste of time and money.
