Short staffed but decent place to eat atAppetizer curry and Taro samosa - hearty and tasty, however next time I would choose a lighter appetizer in the futurePad see ew - was good except for the use of American broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. Good amount of protein added and taste was standardService was sparse but very nice by the one guy serving the whole floor. As I knew they were short stages I asked for the bill early on. Atmosphere is cozy, and well decorated Overall I would return

Friendly service and decent food for a good price. Loved that the location is in the shopping center so parking was easy. Was it the best Thai food I've ever had? No, but it's somewhere I would go if I were in the area and had a craving! Seems like a cool place to check out when they have their dj or karaoke though! Here's our line up!Thai Curry puffs - can do withoutTom kha - the best I've ever had! Pad thai - goodPanang curry beef - goodThai style crispy pork belly - this was something different that I've never had at a Thai place and would def get again. It was battered so it had a nice crunch and was served with a tasty sauceThai tea - solidThai coffee - solid

This location is in south shore with plenty of parking and lots of other stuff to do and look at. They were the one of the few restaurants open late.We happen to come on a karaoke night which is every Thursday and really cool vibes. Although it got hard to carry a conversation since we were competing with the dj music and singers. We got the oysters, papaya salad, pad Thai, and pumpkin curry. The food is your average Thai food place. You can't go wrong, abut there's also nothing to really brag about. The oysters tasted fresh though. They had a really delicious red sauce that came with them that made it all worth. The service was wonderful. We were missing an entree and they checked on it and brought it out right away, apologizing for taking so long. They also came around letting everyone know it was indeed karaoke night and if we had any requests. The vibes were amazing, the food is good and they're open late, specially around this area where most are closed by like 8 or 9PM.

Date: 12/28/2024 Time: 3:40 PM 60° Partly sunny. After a stop at the post office lobby to send off a few bills, and I was hungry, what better time than to stop in at Monkey Thai for late lunch. I have been to their other restaurant on the west end of Alameda several years ago.Restaurant was not busy. Ahh...just the way I like it. It's quiet and I'm by myself on a solo act. After perusing the menu, I decided to have the eggplant dish with jasmine rice and lychee iced tea. I enjoyed the eggplant dish. The veggies were not overcooked and the level of spiciness was perfect. The iced lychee tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. I also like the extensive selections they offer on their menu. So many choices of items and so little time to decide. LOL.One thing I heard about Monkey Thai was they serve up pretty good garlic noodles. I will have to order their garlic noodles the next time I visit them, along with their chicken wings. The portion is generous, and as always my eyes got bigger than my stomach. I only ate one third of the meal for late lunch. It's leftovers for dinner. Customer service was very good. The waitress checked on me to make sure I was doing fine. Yes, I will return with my sister for the lunch specials or happy hour.

One of my go-to spots for takeout or Thai any time of day. They have a bar and have a wide variety of options for appetizers and entrees. I personally love their noodles & rice dishes but this time we ordered chicken gyoza & pad ka praow with beef. They don't have a lot of change for cash so I would opt in for using your card, they don't take large dollar bills. A lot of seating arrangements indoor & outdoor. Everything came out quickly, there were plenty of portions. I couldn't finish this alone lol.

Came here for a team lunch and it was a great find! I got this confused with the other Monkey Thai where I didn't have the best experience, but this place is completely different. The waitress was busy but prompt. Super friendly and sweet. Their lunch specials are the way to go! You get an app, meal, and a drink for about $20. It's plenty of food too! Everything was tasty. Service was fast. The music was a bit loud, but they must have noticed and turned it down midway through. Also, it got busy and poor waitress didn't have any help so it took awhile to get our bill and some boxes. All in all, it was a great experience and I wouldn't mind coming here again for a good portion lunch plate.

Yelp check-in = Free Thai drink.I am sad to have to write this review. But as I read some of the other recent reviews, it looks like I might be in line with everyone else's experience...? I hope you change back to your good self, the sooner the better. Quality/Quantity - Still well known for their lunch combos. We prefer this location over the original, even if it is slightly more expensive. I am sure rent is much higher here. Also known for their happy hours, also my daughter's go-to place for late night eats.Today we got the following:Thank you for the Yelp check-in Thai tea and coffee!Chicken Garlic Noodles - My order and the better of the two dishes. Generous chicken portions, thank you. But not enough garlic noodles; I can't believe I'm actually complaining about that. I guess it could have been worse and be the other way around. A few bites were not edible...? Hard as a rock, not sure what it was? Burnt cold noodles?Tofu Pad See Ew - A failed dish today. First of all, found egg shells that were about 1/2 an inch in size, how do you miss that? And when we brought it to the waitress's attention, she gave an insincere apology... Well, my wife lost her appetite after that. A few of the tofu pieces were just very tough, like a few days old, tough... I just couldn't eat any more of her dish either. Lastly, not sure if my picture did it justice, but either you were very generous with our garlic noodle dish, or this dish got seriously skimped on. Almost half the size. In my picture, it was NOT only not heaping, but it did not go all the way to the edge of the plate like the garlic noodles.Atmosphere - Decent size place with both indoor and outdoor seating.Table, booth, or bar seating.Open 7 days a week from 11am till 9pm or midnight; see Yelp or their website.Plenty of mall parking.Service - Started off good, until we got our food...Got our to-go boxes and then left.Price - $42 + tip. Expensive for what we got and for the experience.I really hope my next visit will be better as my daughter really comes here often.Owner Comment - Congrats on this location since 2018, and with your two sister locations.

The food here was okay, but what made this experience great was our waitress! She went over the top to make sure everything came out right and that the drinks my friends ordered were to their liking. I didn't catch her name but she was super friendly and patient with all of us. I also found it a bit gloomy and dark in the restaurant but it's in a great location since it's in South Shore.I ordered the garlic noodles with seafood. I thought it was delicious and a beautiful dish, but the addition of seafood was $8 more. A little disappointed about the price but I preferred seafood over the other protein options. My boyfriend got the crispy pork belly, which he said was a bit overcooked and closer to what bacon is than a good pork belly. We also shared the fried bananas. It was supposed to come with ice cream but they ran out so our waitress made sure we had extra bananas and whip cream instead. The service here is great!

Looks like they updated their menu and interior layout. The service is okay. The food was as expected from previous visits. Would probably only come here once in a while.

Dropped by on a weekday at 11am and they weren't open yet, even though their signage said they'd be open. I did come back another time at 11:20 and they were open this time around. A little strange that their combo lunch special menu states it's only available starting 11:30 if they open earlier! Though it's a plus that it's available until 3pm, weekdays only. I always order their combo. Nice selection of entrees with a drink and appetizers. Otherwise, regular a la carte items are too pricey when eating out with just one other person. Their noodle entrees, eggrolls, and Thai milk tea do not disappoint! The restaurant was practically empty at this time but I don't mind!
