Mong Q Mongolian BBQ Kitchen

I'm an absolute sucker for Mongolian BBQ - through pandemics, road trips, and the like, it's always been there for me. Heard about Mong Q, so off I went to the Serramonte Mall.Food's just as I remember - noodles are pre-measured and they do handle the sauces for ease of cleanliness, but they've got great options like brisket and the like. I'm a tall guy and the large was good enough for me. While the whole setup is a little weird (it goes from right to left), it hit the spot.

Ordered a large bowl hereThe sizes are smaller than you might think, I piled my bowl full of meats and veggies and it was decently sized when cooked compared to the noodles. The actual food was good. The sauces, meats, veggies, and noodles tasted great.Service was pretty quick; no real big wait. The food is pricey, but it's under $20 and I think it's worth it if you've got the moneyPretty standard mall eatery vibes

This brings me back such great nostalgia because if you've ever had Great Khan's Mongolian BBQ before, this is practically an upgraded version of that!! I practically grew up with Great Khans because you definitely got your money's worth back then.Fun fact - the owner of MongQ was actually one of the founders of Great Khan's, and I'm so glad he decided to open up a location in Serramonte!MongQ is located at Serramonte Mall and is tuck next door to Tokyo Grill and Panda Express. If you haven't been to Great Khan's before, basically you choose which size bowl you want. The options are:1. Regular - $15.952. Large - $18.95**these are subject to change over time+ you can also add mozzarella cheese to your bowl for $2.50+ rice is $2After you choose the size of your bowl, you basically load it up with what you want. The have a whole variety of meats, vegetables, sauces - you name it.MEAT OPTIONS - Brisket, Beef, Pork and Chicken (these come in shabu slices, so they are thinn)VEGGIES/SIDES - bean sprouts, lettuce, onions, cilantro, carrots, zucchini, jalapenos, tofu, hot links, tomato, green onion, pineapples, bamboo shoot, water chestnuts, etc. They have a whole ton of stuff you can add to your bowl.SAUCES/ADDITIVES - garlic, lemon juice, oyster lobster sauce, chili oil, etc. I don't remember all of them, but the owner did walk us through if we wanted all of them added.My husband and I decided to order a large bowl and split it last night since we were pretty hungry. Our total came out to $20 before tip, and we started loading our bowl ASAP.We got a variety of meats and veggies for our meal + all of the sauces available. Once we were done, someone will take your bowl and start cooking up everything for you. With Great Khan's, yo were able to load up your bowl with noodles. However with MongQ, they will portion and add the noodles for you after.Everything was practically done within 5-10 minutes, and you can also load up on sauces, crunchy onions, etc. at the end + leave a tip (cash) for the workers!I will say that this was a great update + upgrade from Great Khans! You can taste the quality shift, especially with having brisket as an option. I really loved the sauces they offered and the variety of veggies, meats, and sides they have. It was definitely pure nostalgia after the first bite (plus I was really hungry). My husband and I ate every last drop. I will say I'd recommend adding some pineapple to your bowl to balance everything out. I'll def be back again!! Definitely fair prices, especially for the amount you get.

This place is worth it!! You pick out your size bowl & add vegetables & meat (like a buffet style). You can fill your bowl as high as you'd like. At the end the cook will cook your selected items & add noodles. Service is quick & efficient. The price is perfect for how much you get. The food is delicious & semi healthy. I would recommend this spot.

Love that they put a Mongolian BBQ place in the mall. We were excited to see this walking into the food court because we weren't expecting it. The only suggestion I can make is adding some sort of sauce on the noodles and veggies while it's on the grill, seems like it was missing something. Next time we'll add more sauce to our bowl for a bit more flavor.

Look I miss Great Khans...but Mong Q hits all the right notes. Despite not having quite the variety as GKs, they maintain a good price and very fresh ingredients. If you need to scratch that itch...this is the place. Note the regular size is enough for a normal person to make two meals out of. Go here now!

The most NOT-Mongolian places to eat. Non of the dishes they offer has anything to do with Mongolia or Mongolian Dishes.

Meats are frozen and not fresh. Doesn't even taste Mongolian at all. It's just all soy sauce which makes my meal very salty.

I love that a mongolian bbq spot opened here. I cooked eat this style of cooking everyday.

New Restaurant in Town! I was recommended by my colleague and I must say I am completely impressed! I really like the idea of building your noodles (no matter how much, as long as your bowl fits!) I can add anything I want (pineapple!) and they will cook in front of you! Plus the meat and veggie are very fresh and they even have baby corn! Yum yum Thumbs up and definitely will come again and recommend to other people!
