They have a large selection of matcha drinks and desserts. We opted for a hot and a cold matcha latte. Both were good. Consider grabbing their matcha gift set for someone starting their matcha making journey

Mochi-ya Ren is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace in the Strawberry Park Shopping Center. Parking is usually hit or miss here, especially on weeknights and weekends, as this is a pretty busy plaza. Ordering is on the tablet at the front counter, but there is only 1, so the ordering process might be slow, as everyone is also going through the menu on it. Only a couple of employees, so desserts may take awhile as well. I tried their Matcha Mont Blanc last time, it was just okay and not worth it, so I just ordered their matcha mochi soft serve this time. It was about $9, so a bit steep for what you get - it was super bitter, not at all sweet this time. Decent little spot that is convenient if you are shopping here and want a quick dessert fix, but I would not go out of my way to come here.

Matcha crepe! Uncommon to find. You can also have mini Mochi balls in your crepe to further the Japanese twist in this modern snack. How unique and lovely is that. The menu is also expansive with other unique Japanese treats like fresh fruits Mochi, Mochi ice cream, Hojicha lattes, with authentic matcha from Kagoshima - latte, crepe, ice cream, Mochi - in any form you could imagine. It's a boutique stand right next to the entrance of the beloved Japanese Bookstore, Kinokuniya. So there you have it, grab a wonderful treat - a hot Hojicha or a satisfying matcha crepe freshly made to order - to wrap your Japanese bookstore trip, in warmth and in awe.

Oh my Golly GAWD DANG, this place... ooooh this place.Been here two times now, and I'm getting closer to the big prize. The Prize being almost everything on the menu cuz it sells out stupid fast.We came here one night, not long before closing, and were only able to get a few things, because everything was SOLD OUT!Tried again a week later, but came around 1600, and wouldn't ya know it, most of the dang things were sold out again! We were able to add a few others to the list of "Tried's", but still missing out on the really good stuffs!I guess I'm just gonna have to come here when they open so I can beat the rush, but hey, they must be doing something right if they keep selling out EVERY FREAKING TIME I GO THERE!!! GGGRRRRRRR.

Came here on a Friday at 1pm after having lunch at Santouka. I never tried this place before so I was excited when I saw they have Mont Blanc .I got the matcha Mont Blanc. We ordered at 1pm and they were busy with unloading stuff but not filling other orders, so it took them a while to get to our order. The Mont Blanc was quite good. The white bean paste added on top of the matcha ice cream was a great match! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Minus 1 star is due to the price. $9.20+tax is a bit steep.

First time trying the matcha Mont Blanc. It was nearly $10, so I was expecting to be disappointed because I didn't know how this would be worth that much. The base was their standard matcha soft serve, topped with a spiralized white bean paste flavored with matcha. Initially, I thought the spiralized bean paste was just a gimmick. But, was I wrong. It added so much to the overall taste of the ice cream. Normally, bean paste is used as the center of a mochi. The texture is very dense, sweet and very overpowering. However, by spirallizing it, they essentially aerated it and made everything so much lighter. By doing it this way, the bean paste blended perfectly with the soft serve and avoided its normally dense texture. Will order again for sure

There's a variety of items you can order here from soft serve to crepes to lattes to mochis. This review is strictly regarding the soft serve and matcha latte:What was ordered: + matcha soft serve - this one was good. The soft serve was nice and creamy with good matcha flavor. + matcha iced latte - would not get again. I was extremely disappointed in this drink. It was basically cold milk with a hint of matcha! I was expecting more matcha flavor but it was unfortunately non-existent. + matcha black sesame latte - better than the matcha latte but that's only because black sesame is such a strong flavor. This drink overall wasn't bad but could've been much better. Overall, I feel like they dropped the ball on the matcha drinks. The soft serve does the job but Cafe Maiko or Izumi Matcha are better options.

This place is located inside the Mitsuwa Japanese market. Very cool that the market has a little food court.Parking can be hit or miss here, so good luck! You can always park on the street though. There was a pretty short line when we got there which grew when we finished ordering. Guess we got there right on time. Our orders didn't take too long as a result. We got the kinako mochi ice cream and strawberry whipped ice cream matcha crepe. The strawberries were nice and ripe, nothing to complain about the ice cream. Crepe was nice and fluffy.Kinako had a nice nutty flavor, ice cream was good, mochi skin was good.Would probably return and try their other offerings.

Located in the food court of the Mitsuwa, I saw this place on social media and wanted to try this noodly green thing. I didn't have time to even take a closer look until after I ordered it. The green noodle thing is the mont blanc which is made of white bean paste and matcha. The flavor is... interesting. It wasn't too sweet but the matcha flavor wasn't super pronounced. There was matcha soft serve, coconut jelly, frosted flakes, mochi balls, whip cream, a vanilla wafer, and strawberry to top it off. It was ok. It wasn't too sweet but I got 2 out of 3 undercooked mochi balls. It was interesting to try but nothing I'd crave.Order at the kiosk and pick up on the side. There's open seating throughout the food court side so sit anywhere you like. No one was around to clean the tables so every man for themselves. My daughter needed some water but they didn't offer any cups of water.

Located in the mitsuwa food court. I recommend ordering the crepe as a to go option because then you get a box to eat from. I selected the dine in option and was given a handheld crepe which make it difficult and messy to eat. The crepe overall was ok. I think I would like to give their matcha ice cream and drinks a try next time. My order came out relatively quickly. The area was constantly bustling with customers.
