The deluxe chirashi is really good (the stripey fish tasted the best, and I think it's the Tuna Toro). The portions are generous as always. I also love the tempura. There's also free self-serve available for dessert near the front door! The flavors are vanilla and chocolate.

I was in the area and craving some sushi, so I decided to stop in for a quick bite. There was a fairly limited menu, but still a good amount of nice options. I was pleasantly surprised by some of their signature options. The staff were nice, and there was solid seating inside. Pretty solid spot.

Palo Alto isn't exactly known for its sushi but this was our go to place. My family would regularly come here for decently priced, good quality sushi in the past. We went last night for the first time in three months and were shocked by the changes in price, size, and quality. This will be our last time going to MJ Sushi. The sashimi was good but the rolls were abysmal. Sushi rice was overcooked and bland so the rolls left an awful texture in my mouth. The rolls were also extremely heavy on rice and skimped heavily on fish. The imitation crab in the rolls also tasted a bit off and my partner had diarrhea a few hours later.Prices had increased all around the board but quality has taken a huge dip. We talked to the manager and she apologized, citing chef changed as opposed to management changes. It's unfortunate but I'd rather make the drive to Sen Dai sushi in Milpitas than spent $70+ on a subpar food and leave hungry and dissatisfied.

I have been here a few times with my brother and it doesn't miss in my opinion, the sushi is always solid. There are quite a few rolls to pic from and I really think they hit the mango flavoring on the spot. The dumplings were average in my opinion. But in general I'm always surprised at the quality and taste for that price. Especially being in Palo Alto there are few sushi places that I think match the price point this place offers. When you walk in there are a few tables, and at peak hours there is a little bit of a wait. It's not the greatest place for large groups, most tables seat 2, some seat 4. There is a bathroom and they also have a policy that the first few drinks and sodas are sometimes on the house - not always but sometimes. I like to try the ramune sodas. They also have self serve ice cream (sometimes it's also unlimited with some discretion). The salmon teriyaki is my personal favorite. Something to note is that sometimes online ordering is a bit more expensive than ordering in person. Overall, nice vibes and will def come back. Very friendly staff and lots of things are sometimes on the house which is always a nice surprise.

I discovered this place soon after they opened in 2023 and it is now my go to sushi restaurant. It is located near California Ave in Palo Alto and right next to one of the parking garages! So easy to park and I havent waited more than 5 minutes for a table. Now the reason why this is my go to is because the philly roll is my husbands favorite and its only about $7 here. This roll can be up to $15 at some other restaurants. He usually orders 2-3 of those and thats his dinner haha. Their fish is fresh and will be back soon.

Popular spot for Stanford students bc good value for the price and nice hours! Not too much selection on the sushi rolls and a lot of the rolls feel very similar (they have a lot of variations of tempura based rolls) so it was hard to decide what to get. Ended up going with the CB roll which was nice and simple, and another roll I forgot the name of/cant figure out (that's how similar all their tempura rolls are!!)Chicken karaage was generously sized and cooked perfectly crispy, but it didn't come with lemon (and when I asked they never ended up bringing it). Still yummy, I pretty much ate the whole thing myself. There wasn't a wow factor to the food but it was still pretty solid especially for the price. Service is fast and friendly.Parking is a little difficult in the area but we got lucky and found a spot down the street.

No frills sushi place with reasonable prices and quick service! Pros: Fast! 3 rolls in about 5 minutes Sushi is great quality- really enjoyed the ts roll and volcano rollEven specialty rolls are reasonably priced around 15-17 each Free water/tea and soft serve! Parking in public garage right around the corner Cons: Feels sort of like a fast food place with mounted tv's showing reality tv, very bright fluorescent lighting Crowded seating, not the best place to have some spaceNot surprisingly a deal like this comes with a wait list - you need all parties present to get seated and they won't call your phone/ must wait on site. Cleared the list fast though!

The restaurant is in the corner of a street and parking spot on the garage or on the street parking lot. I went in during lunch time and it was very spacious with lots of seating for small or large party! The service was pretty nice and the food came out really fast! The 4 rolls were fresh and good too!

Great affordable sushi! For the price the sushi is good. Some of my favorites include: BB roll, MJ roll, and Warriors roll. Also I recently tried the Honey Walnut roll and it was good too! I love the walnuts on there. The service is good. They are attentive in making sure you have everything you need. I don't feel like we ever wait too long to order or to get the check. Also I like how this place is the only Bay Area restaurant that I know of that opens past 9 PMThe inside is nice. The restaurant uses a lot of warm wood so it feels very inviting. And the restaurant itself feels new and clean. They have many tables for seating. I also like the appetizer plates they use. They're very pretty.Parking: There are a few parking garages in that area of Palo Alto. We usually park at the one nearby.

Free bottled water, cheap and good sushi, free ice cream for dessert! Regular rolls have a price ranging from $6-$16, larger speciality rolls have a couple more and are around double the price. We came around 8:30pm on a Tuesday with a party of 7 and we got seated immediately. The place was around 3/4 full too. Our waitress was great, when our water bottles were empty, she cameand replenished pretty fast! salmon avocado roll (5/5): a classic roll, salmon is nice and soft and one order is $6 for 6 pieces. hamachi nigiri (5/5): fish so soft and buttery and the fish to rice ratio is NICE! spider roll (4/5): crunchy, super large too. maybe ill stick to just getting fishfireworks roll (5/5): lowkey pretty spicy, but still delicious and fish was deliciousi would definitely come back, next time ill try their sashimi but everything was so good i would order again
