Found some really solid, nicely done and cooked chile verde chicken and pork tamales in the heart of East Side San Jose. I had been sitting on and planning to try and bring some good tamales to a friend for our dinner! Got a combination of chile verde pollo and pork tamales, this run was very worth it because we loved out food to eat. The chicken tamales were fresh from the masa to the chicken to the hot sauce. The pork red sauce tamales were on the lighter side, and we really appreciate that because our opinion of solid tamale is made with less grease!Definitely a recommendation for the tamale eater in you! :)Enso forever.$1 for cream cheese, cheese and sauces. Nice bite! Cart at the 7/ siete Market on Tully/King.Friendly/bring cash speak spanish for nicer service."You would be amazed what the ordinary guy knows."--Matt Drudge

I've been wanting to review this place for awhile now because they have the best tamales I've ever had! The tamale is super flavorful, but what really makes it good is the cornmeal which is has a rich softness that just isn't there with tamales I've had at other places. Many times it's too hard and makes the tamale itself less tasty. I could eat these tamales all day if I knew it wouldn't kill me. Anyways, It's this food stand that's there everyday in front of Arteaga Market in Willow Glen. They have pork, chicken, corn, and other tamales. They are $1.50 each though I believe they take cash only so keep that in mind. Come visit because though I would like to keep this place a secret, it's just too good not to try.

I tried this tamale place for the first time yesterday. In my opinion, they are super-delicious! The masa is moist and flavorful and so is the meat. They actually reminded me of the days when my mother-in-law was still living, and we would get together and make them ourselves. As you are driving by the place, and as you get out of your vehicle, you can smell the the wonderful fragrant aroma of the tamales cooking.
