Greasy and expensive. But that's to be expected. But the beef had really good flavor! Veggies were good. bPretty much the only keto option in the park. But I really enjoyed it. Sauce on the side of course. And my friend loved the biscuit.

$26 for 3 chicken tenders, cornbread, mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes... All served in an unorganized cafeteria-style Victorian house. Compared to Panda Express and Subway, it's the most unique option at CGA, but I wouldn't recommend it. If I'm being picky, I would rate this 1.5 stars? We originally wanted the turkey leg. Nope, not for sale. Okay... how about the rotisserie chicken? NOPE, don't have it. They literally just have whatever is sitting at the cafeteria counter at that very moment. The menu screens aren't reliable. So unfortunately, we settled for the SUPER SALTY chicken tenders. At least the chicken wasn't dry I guess. The best part was definitely the mac & cheese since it had good flavor and the cheese was gooey. The mashed potatoes were so BLAND and did not taste like potato at all. It was like eating flavorless goop. The gravy was also very strange. The cornbread was decent, but a bit too sweet for me.

It's a decent spot for food if you come when it first opens. Although what's on the menu might not be ready at the hot table where the staff scoops the food for you. I have been here near closing and you basically need to take whatever is out there. It is a decent option for us because we got the all day dining pass with our seasons pass. I usually get the fried chicken because it's hard to mess up on that, sometimes it can be a little on the salty side, but it's one of the few restaurants inside great america where I can have something other then fries as a side. I usually get mac and cheese ( you can pick mashed potatoes) it comes with a small cornbread. The line moves really slow here, I'm not sure why, but like I said if you have an all day dining seasons pass it's a decent option.

Food wise - this is a great option inside Great America. Chicken is juicy and flavorful and the sides are not disappointing (Mac and cheese, veggies, mashed potatoes and gravy & corn bread).Service wise - just lower your expectations. I understand this is located inside an amusement park but a little customer service goes a long way. Line is usually long but that's fine. The mains they have in the menu are fried chicken, chicken tenders and chicken sandwich. I noticed that the chicken sandwich is gone and I asked if it's gone for the day or just a moment because I am willing to wait. Guy said sold out. That's a bummer but since it's popular - all good I just got a different order. A few minutes later while my family and I were eating in one of the booths - I see a slew of orders coming out with the sandwiches! WTH?!The 2 soda machines are not manned as well and I had to ask to refill the ice and the water down coke.

I visited Maggie Smokehouse & Fried Chicken on a weekday evening and it was not crowded at the time. Only one party in front of us in line, and plenty of open seating. I got the fried chicken with vegetables, and it came with a corn bread. Theme park food is always more expensive than normal food, but I enjoyed this meal and was quite pleased with it! The server was working hard and very polite, and we were happy to find a clean table near the window to sit down and enjoy our food at. I would visit again!

Underwhelming is the word that comes to mind about the food here but I guess I should've expected it since it's located inside a theme park. We ordered the rotisserie chicken, 3 pieces of fried chicken, Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The fried chicken was super greasy and the rotisserie chicken had absolutely zero flavor. No bbq sauce was offered and all they had was ketchup. The Mac & cheese was probably the only item that was good and even then, not worth the money spent. At least the service was good but that will not make us repeat customers.

This place was an absolute nightmare. My boyfriend and I went to Great America Winterfest for NYE. We were so hungry and walked by Maggie Smokehouse & Fried Chicken. We scoped out the menu and decided to eat here because the menu sounded good.I probably have nothing good to say about this place except for the man that was at the front registers. He was the ONLY nice employee there that actually acknowledged our existence and frustration due to the long wait. He gave us an extra free soda. Anyways, the line didn't look too bad so we decided to order. You order from a self-serve monitor if you would like and it will give you a receipt with your order. We probably waited in line for a little over an hour before getting our food. We get up there because it is finally our turn to be serviced. They ran out of turkey legs! Well, they need to find out a better system on telling the big crowd of people ordering turkey legs. Anyways, we decided to get fried chicken and chicken tenders with fries and the sweet potato casserole. This young gentleman was helping us. He gave us probably a bit more chicken tenders (maybe because all the tenders were small and dry), but this girl comes by and picks off a couple pieces. Not to mention, she went to grab the fried chicken for us. I thought she was grabbing us 2 fresh new pieces in the back where my boyfriend and I clearly saw workers grabbing from. Everybody in the line in front of us got these nice pieces of fried chicken. She came back with one piece and gave us this small wing that looked like it was just sitting there. No one else was giving those pieces out! We were very disappointed with the food and service. Oh, I also believe someone should be directing people where to sit, especially on a very busy day. This diner room was filled with people sitting with no food, just saving seats. Well, where are the people who ordered food and are standing with trays of food in their hands going to sit?! Absolutely one of the most dissatisfying and disappointing experiences ever at Great America. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Poor service. The biscuits were so dry, my son choked and had to spit it out. The fried chicken was good, but they only give you 2 small pieces. Overall, expensive and serving is small. Again ice ran out of the machine, but none of the servers did anything to refill it.
