Confession: When I used to work next door to the LuLu's on Main Street in Los Altos, I immediately dismissed them as uninteresting gringo-style Mexican food. I completely forgot that Auntie Sol had already previously introduced me to LuLu's when she bought some Mini Super Burritos for us from this LuLu's at Town & Country Village location...and I loved them, especially the one with Machaca (Shredded beef with tomatoes, onion and cilantro).Years later, I rediscovered my food crush on LuLu's when I ordered an Albanil (Ground beef, chorizo, bacon, onion & pasilla pepper) Regular Burrito with sour cream via waiter.com from this same Town & Country spot in Palo Alto...and couldn't forget its deliciousness. The bold savouriness really shines when wrapped in a tortilla with traditional red Mexican Rice and refried Vegetarian Beans. Since then, this burrito has been my go-to order at all LuLu's shoppes. Town & Country makes it the best (Yes, I can notice the difference).Interestingly, the boys were not fans of LuLu's initially. Since they ordered a Super California Mojado Style/Wet Burrito, no guacamole and a Pollo Hervido Enchildada with green sauce on Sunday, September 29, 2024, they became overnight aficionados...returning to LuLu's at least twice again before end of the year to satisfy their cravings.Cielo was not super impressed by the Carnitas Soft Tacos because of the toppings. Perhaps she neglected to read the description in the menu and was expecting typical street tacos sans the veggies, cheese, and crema. She did give two thumbs up for the Super California Mojado Style/Wet Burrito with no guacamole, so this dish was a clear winner for the kids. So, yeah....not all LuLu's locales are the same. This Town & Country spot is very small inside, big enough for a small queue of no more than twenty persons for ordering and picking up at the counter. Outside in the front are tables and chairs for dining in, facing the parking lot. If you are lucky, you can score a spot for your vehicle just steps aways from the front entrance. The staff keeps the space, inside and out, decently well kept.Service is friendly, very helpful, and fairly quick. If we lived nearby, we would mos def be regulars here. LuLu's at Town & Country is always top of mind when we are in the area!

Love their food, it's fresh, delicious tasting and fast. I used to order the crispy tacos and Chili's all the time, but they changed the taco shells and chips, it's not as good. However the meats and ingredients are still delicious.

Always wanted to try this place as we have walked by Lulu's many a time while visiting T&C. but always hesitated due to the 3 Star review. Well, we decided to try it and ordered the nachos with carnitas and overall it was nothing special. Many of the chips that had been deep fried were stuck together and no comparison compared to another taqueria located in the middle of Santana Row. Cashier who took our order was nice explaining what ingredients we would get. Most likely will not be coming back although this is the only place that has Mexican food.

Amazing food and service. Get here before the lunch rush as it's next to a high school, college and a medical center.

The place is an attractive take-out in Town & Country Square. Service is prompt and serving size (Chiliquilles Rojo) was OK. Sure, there is little that is "authentic" about the food, and no points off for that. Why go for take-out at T&C Square in Palo Alto for authentic Mexican?? Well-made with fresh ingredients and with hints of the original genre are good nuf. Got two out of three here.- Flavorful but not generous beans (asked for no rice)- Both salsas appeared fresh and homemade. No particular bite to either, but decent flavor- Chilliquilles were, on first bite, an enjoyable mix of crisp chips and soft eggs, with a simple red sauce. Better than average for sure.- However, enjoyment was substantially reduced upon reaching the bottom and discovering that the eggs were sitting in a pool of greasy sauce (see picture). It was not possible to finish the dish. Even when only halfway and trying to avoid the pooled grease, I was left with a queasy stomach that did not settle until a couple of hours later.Prior experience here was less troublesome, so I added to what would have been a two-star review expecting that this was anomalous.

Pretty solid plates - good portions. Prices might be a tad high for tacos. I had a taco plate once and then a burrito. I'd stick to a plate to get full, but a burrito is a solid upgrade from a snack, something to opt for when you're not super hungry.Beef Taco Plate - beans, rice, and two hefty tacos. Filling with all the contents but tacos alone were alright. They're stacked and loaded, but not actually feasible to eat as a taco so you eat smaller tacos with some contents to eat with the rice and beans. So feels like a larger entree with rice and two small tacos as sides or appetizers. Beef was tender.Chicken Fajita Burrito - wish it were a bit bigger, still a decent burrito though. Solid ingredients, lots of vegetables and beans make up the healthier side. Could use more chicken, I think they were diced small so it was also harder to notice.

I've been a few times with friends, and this place is pretty solid. They're usually slammed at lunch, so be prepared for a little wait. The produce is fresh, the food is prepared fresh, and the staff are friendly. Lulu's beats the other fresh-Mex places all day. There's something for everyone, vegetarians included!

For food alone, the overall rating is a 3. I have to dock 1 star though for missing items from orders. It's happened a few times, and it can really ruin a meal.My opinions:- Pollo Asado Burrito: (6/10 - Fine) - A bit too salty- Carnitas Burrito: (5/10 - Average) - A bit too saltyOther notes:- Takeout- Their rice is decent on its own, but in the burrito it blended together into something more average- There have been a few instances where they forget an item that was part of the order. This can be very costly because they charge a lot for add-ons.

For us, chicken super burrito = beans + rice and pretty much that was it. No guacomole or sour cream as advertised for the upgrade to "super." Minimal chicken, invisible cheese to sight or taste, skeletal tomatoes -- this last one makes sense. There was no salsa bar. The staff said they were out of salsa. I was handed a small container filled with a semi-transparent orange substance that was the consistency of water with floating leaves in it. Ahem...it would have been helpful if the order taker had told us that they were out of the essential ingredients for a chicken burrito much less a chicken "super" burrito and offered a "beans and rice and no cheese" burrito instead. It doesn't matter even if it was after the lunch time rush. If you don't have it, don't accept payment for it. You know what I mean, jellybean?

I ordered a $20+ shrimp burrito just for it to be merely black beans and shrimp. No guacamole, sour cream or anything in addition which was supposed to be included. It also was the smallest burrito in the world. Just ridiculous!!! Save yourself the trouble and don't get food here.
