Last time I was here this was a low-end table service restaurant, now it's a fast casual lunch eatery doing the absolute minimum. Rice was dry almost to the point of being crispy, as was the al pastor & carnitas I had in my hard shell tacos. Why did it take so long to cook? Possibly because the staff was distracted by the landscapers & contractors chatting it up with them in Spanish when they weren't otherwise playing around with their cell phones or yucking it up in the kitchen. Avoid the jukebox that cranks out banda at discoteque volumes & hit the taco truck across the street instead.

Don't bother. Tried. Been here twice. Both times closed. Arrived at 2:50 pm. There were several guys who just got there, ordered beers and watching soccer on TV. The guy said "we are closed." Did not say anything else. Then asked for his hours. "9 to 3" he said nothing else.Won't be back. Hours too strange and not courteous nor helpful. There are plenty other taquerias around.

It's been quite a few years since I had Los Dos. Been disappointed with Chipotle's quality recently, so decided to try Los Dos again. The definitely cleaned up the inside of the store, and made the menu a lot more readable which is a plus! Burrito itself was pretty good, but on the pricier end. I ordered the steak super burrito and it was ~$11. The good thing is that chips are included, you just have to ask! The salsa bar was new to my eyes, but it was great. Picked up some radish, onions, and salsa to enjoy with my meal :)Could be something I eat when I'm craving Mexican food!

Solid three stars for their tacos. I've been on a quest to find the best tacos in west San Jose so, of course, I had to try Los Dos Compadres. I ordered two tacos - one with pastor and one with lengua. The pastor was kind of dry and lacked in flavor. The lengua was beautifully cooked but also needed a bit more salt. I suppose the salsa helped solve the flavor problem, but I wish the meat was good enough to stand on its own.During the same visit, my mom ordered a shrimp tostada which was super tomato-y; I wish it was more ceviche-like. My aunt ordered a carne asada burrito and it was (as many Yelpers have testified before) ginormous. She seemed to enjoy it but she also has a pretty low standard for good food. All in all, not terrible but not great. Good to know it's here but I've found better taquerias around so I probs won't be back - at least not for tacos.

There aren't very many other Mexican places in the immediate vicinity, so it would be easy to overrate this place. Truth be told, it's a little inconsistent. At times, the service is wonderful and friendly: at one recent visit, the workers happily gave my kids multiple samples of the various aguas frescas; at times, the service is quite overly aggressive: at a different recent visit, my table number was pulled from the table while I was getting salsa and my plate was snatched out from under me while I was literally still chewing my final bite. I realize that you're busy during lunch hour and whatnot, and I'm also aware that I was taking up an entire 4-top by myself (it was the only place I could sit when I got there), but damn dude, let me finish chewing, k?Asada is my usual go-to here, mostly for the reason that I usually do take out, and al pastor doesn't travel as well. On a recent trip referenced above, I ordered barbacoa, which resulted in several overly-large chunks of meat that were difficult to chew and too large to fit in my mouth. So I'll be avoiding that in the future.

Stay away from this place. Customer service is extremely bad and they don't care for their customers. The lady gave me the wrong food I called and told them the situation. The lady told me to come back tomorrow to get the correct order since I had to get back to work. Some lady called me a hour later demanding I bring back the wrong order after the lady told me to come back tomorrow. How are you going to mess up my order and then demand I leave work to bring back food I already disposed of. They have a nasty attitude the food is definitely not worth it

Solid Mexican place hidden in the right corner of this Asian plaza and behind the Bank of America. I ordered the super burrito al pastor. Burrito al pastor is my go-to whenever I try a new Mexican place (that or a big plate of nachos), and for me, that has been a fairly accurate litmus test because if you mess up either of those, then the rest of the menu is kind of looked at with some suspicion. It was not mind blowing, but it didn't have to be. As the line goes, "when I was hungry, you gave me food." And the food was delicious and satisfying-- hit the spot. The size of the burrito was decent, it was well wrapped, the tortilla wasn't falling apart or soggy, the ingredients were well distributed through out the length of the burrito (y'all know what I'm talking about!), and it was not lacking anything that it was supposed to have-- e.g., not enough cheese, too much beans, too little meat, etc. -- not a problem with my burrito. If you're reading this and are thinking to yourself, "we're still talking about the burrito, right?" get your damnmind outta the gutter and into Los Dos Compadres already and feed your soul.

Ate here today with two of my coworkers. Diana, who works behind the counter, charged me $6.24 for two large empty cups that were used to fill up with tap water. When I questioned her, she asked if we were getting bottled water or their tap water that was sitting out as that was the fee for bottled water. I told her tap and she still charged me. She then got frustrated with me for questioning her & had an attitude with me. Very unprofessional & rude. We will not return.

A hidden gem. Great food, friendly service, at reasonable prices. Chips and salsa and salad complimentary as in many places, but its worth mentioning I personally found the salsa choices to be of exceptional quality. The Cupertino-Saratoga area's best kept secret. Will return in a heartbeat!
