Little Taipei Cafe is located in the strip mall with Osaka Marketplace, Boiling Point, Pineapple King Bakery, etc.We stopped in off-hours, so there were only a couple of aunties buying some food. Spacious inside with a few tables to dine in.My mom bought some baked rice cake. The beef shank with tendon looked interesting to me.

**CASH ONLY Restaurant**This restaurant is located in the same plaza as Osaka market. There are plenty of parking.I placed an order for six entrees to go for around $95. I ordered the kung pao chicken, Peking style pork, shredded pork with chives and bean curds, chicken with salted fish fried rice, braised fish tofu, and lamb with dried bean curd. While I was waiting for my order, I realized there were like six buzzing flies flying around the restaurant. It was quite disturbing. Luckily, I didn't buy any uncovered food from the tables near the counter. The kung pao chicken was just ok. I had better. The Peking pork had too much red food coloring and breading, which was unnecessary. The shredded pork with chives and bean curd was flavorful, but barely had any pork. Once I opened the salted fish and chicken fried rice, I couldn't barely smell the salted fish. The salted fish is known for the pungent smell. It only had two tiny, tiny pieces of salted fish. The braised tofu and fish is the most flavorful out of the six entrees. The lamb with dried bean curd , which was their specialty was inedible. The lamb had skin on them, no seasoning, and chewy. I took couple bites and threw away the whole order. Don't expect anyone to greet you and to gladly answer your questions at this restaurant. The lady at the counter was rude. This was my first time patronizing this restaurant and will be the last. This was one of the worst Chinese food that I had eaten. The reasonable prices and big portions can't make up for the horrible food and service.

After our group outing, we stopped at Mission Square Plaza for lunch. We checked out a couple of restaurants in the shopping center and we decided for to try some Taiwanese Cuisine at Taipei Café. It's a large spacious restaurant with a table of prepared foods for purchase next to the counter. With the five of us, we decided to each select a dish. The waitress answered our questions about one dish and took our order. There were two other tables of customers that were eating, so our food came out relatively quickly. But we sat near a worker that was wrapping Taiwanese style joong/tamales. So it was interesting seeing how she put one together and how quick she made one.Our orders:Pressed bean curd and pork stir-fry - the strips of firm tofu, strips of celery and pork stirred fried. Good flavor.Cast iron seafood - shrimp, fish, squid and scallop stirred fried with jalapeno and red chili pepper. It was good and mild in spice. Listed as a teppan dish, we thought this cast iron dish would be served in a sizzling platter. Dan dan noodles - the topping consisted of chopped black fungus, minced pork, peanuts and scallions with a chili oil in the bottom. We tossed the bowl of noodles to get all the ingredients mixed. This was different that ones I've had in the past. I felt the flavor was a little lacking maybe because there was not enough chili oil in the bowl.Shanghai style thick chow mein - the noodles were not the thick noodles that is normally used for this dish, but an average thick noodle. Stirred fried with strips of chicken and baby bok choy. Disappointed with this dish.Beijing style pork - The sauced pork chops had a nice texture. The waitress, the lady making the tamales and another that was out front spoke Taisanese. In conversation with our waitress, she said the previous owner was Taiwanese. So it appears this restaurant has new owners? The food we had were a good and ok depending on the dish. Prices were reasonable. Not a must return visit for me.

Run down and grimey place serving Taiwanese/Chinese comfort food (mostly takeout). It didn't used to be like this...20 years ago haha. Pretty sure it has changed ownership many times since then. I am comfortable with my people taking some "liberties" in sanitation - taste is ok - otherwise I wouldn't recommend coming here. There are some baozi/bing laid out on a table uncovered, front door open. There are some plastic bags of rousong in plastic bags set on boxes by the bathroom. Tables are sticky. It's cash only, but you can Venmo the cashier's personal account, which is not shady at all. Next time I'm in the area I'd rather go to Amazing Basil next door!

For being such as taiwanese/Chinese populated area there really isn't enough breakfast spots! We came here since I'm always on the look-out for fan tuan places. This cafe is located in a busy plaza. You order at the counter, and it's best to bring a friend that speaks/reads Chinese. There's a menu in English, but also many signs that are only in Chinese. This is not a place to come to expect service. We came in the morning, waited 15 minutes for someone to even take our order (kitchen staff was there but ignored us), and then the person who finally took our order was very gruff. CASH ONLY!!The Fan Tuans are basic. I wouldn't come back again for it. Basically just a fried Yo Teo (chinese donut), with Pork floss/sung. For a far better Fan Tuan, I'll stick to Xiaoman Rice Burrito. We also had rice porridge which was fine. You can order it various protein options and it comes full of century eggs (black eggs). The bowl is a huge size for the price that my whole family coudn't even finish , but was overall a bit bland and needed additives. I saw they had bao zi in the yelp pics, but when I asked I was told there wasn't any, at least not in the morning.

I heard that this little cafe served really authentic Taiwanese dishes and I was excited to go and try it out for myself. I was specifically interested in their fan tuans (rice burritos) since it is rare to find them in the Bay. They only make them over the weekend and it's considered a breakfast item. The fan tuans were huge and one was enough as a full meal. There was plenty of filling (pork sung, Chinese donut, and picked veggies) and the first time we went, they offered to add an egg and some cilantro and green onions if we wanted it. We've been back a few times and it always hit the spot. We also went when they had a bunch of zong zis available, both the savory and sweet ones. We bought one of each and were able to reheat them back at home. The most recent time we went, we ordered their beef noodle soup and their Shanghai noodles. The beef noodle soup was extremely flavorful and the meat and tendon were both cooked with a perfect amount of tenderness. I wish it had more toppings and veggies, but nevertheless, it was still very good and felt authentic. I wasn't as impressed with the Shanghai noodles, but because the other dishes tasted so good, it wasn't a big deal and we were still able to finish it. I always look forward to going back for more Taiwanese food and can't wait to continue exploring what they have to offer. Keep in mind they are cash only and accept orders placed over the phone ahead of time for pick up.

I barely know how to rate this place, because it is about as dirty hole in the wall as you can get, but damn if my family doesn't order takeout from here all the freaking time. It's cash-only, the food is fast and affordable, and the server is great. We frequently get the salt and pepper fish, the gravy-style chao fan, and the string beans.

Budget friendly meals. I tried 49 上海粗炒麵 shanghai thick noodle $12 and 61 牛腩麵 beef brisket noodle $12Shanghai thick noodle uses a thin, chewy ramen noodle. It's different than the traditional style, it has a flavorful sauce with pork over the noodles. Pretty yummy. Beef brisket noodle uses the same thin and chewy ramen noodle. Beef is tender and flavorful, broth is a bit salty and has msg. I enjoyed both and such a great deal for the price!
