One of my favorite restaurants in Newark! Authentic Chinese food all year round. I've been here and ordered many times, trying different dishes on their menu. All of them are pretty good with some being fantastic such as dry sauteed spicy chicken wings, sour Chinese pickle with fish fillet, Sichuan Cold noodles. You know a restaurant is really good when you feel comfortable being exploratory and ordering any random dish you see on the menu. This is one of the Chinese restaurants that won't let you down. I often do takeout here and service has been reliable and fast. The restaurant inside also looks decent. I think they took travel groups sometime, during which it'd be crowded.

So I honestly don't know why this place is not rated way higher, because it's probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in the whole Bay, especially if you like frog legs. Every single person that I've taken here too has loved it, so I certainly don't think it's just me. The service can be hit or miss admittedly, but if it's the old lady serving then she never misses a beat.I've probably been to this place over 50 times within the past few years, with the most recent being last week. So along with writing more reviews of places I go this year, I feel like this one needs to be done justice. The local kinda sucks; it's a bit off the main highway and a little hard to find. It's never really packed, and during my first visit it seemed a little sus. They're one of the few restaurants to offer frog legs (specifically the dry pot spicy frog), so I tried that out first. It did not disappoint. This place has hands down the best frog legs and hot and sour soup in the Bay. My most recent trip we had the veggies, the frog legs, and hot/sour soup again, but I've also had the beef tendon, kung pao chicken, hot/sour fish, and others here too. Every single item we've ordered here has tasted authentic and great. The prices are quite reasonable too, especially for how good it is. Their lunch special is one of the best deals in the area. The food and value is so good here I can forgive the ambiance and sometimes inconsistent service and still give it 5 stars.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food and and the service is terrific. The beef tendon is a cold dish with lots of chili and Sichuan peppercorns for a tongue numbing and palate changing experience that I love with Sichuan spicy cuisine. The pork belly (on the menu as pork beely) is melt in your mouth. And the beef with broccoli was a really lovely cumin spicing I loved. This restaurant has the big tables you need for a real party with a Lazy Susan and while it is not bad,it is a little run down, but is at least well maintained.

My family loves spicy food, and my mom also was told by her friend that this spot serves complimentary soy milk and 油條 (Chinese fried donut) on weekends, so Little Sichuan was immediately bumped up our queue of places to try. But, when we arrived, it seemed like there was only complimentary soy milk, and there wasn't mention of complimentary 油條 in Yelp reviews for nearly a decade. That said, you can still order it a la carte, which is what we did. Personally thought it was a little greasy but my mom was a fan, so that's all that matters in the end. Now, as far as the rest of the food goes - we ordered the boiled fish, cold sichuan noodles, husband and wife lung slices, and spicy chicken wings. The cold noodles were topped with a couple spoonfuls of their fragrant and addictive chili oil, refreshing sliced cucumber, and the protein of your choice (ground pork or shredded chicken). In case you needed even more of that chili oil goodness (which we did), it's also available table side. The husband and wife lung slices (which is usually beef shank and tripe in a spicy sauce) and the boiled fish in chili oil were the epitome of 下飯, which just means they're perfect for downing several bowls of rice.Service and ambiance here are just ok, which I think is the root of most of the negative reviews, but it didn't bother us much. All in all, a nice new Sichuan place for our family, and while I needed a nap afterward from the chili oil and multiple bowls of rice, I thought the food was good and would come back.

This is Ms Squirrel and my favorite spicy Chinese place. We usually go here for our anniversary. We love their food. It is amazing how much flavor they pack into each fiery bite. Although the staff is wonderful (the owner even remembers to ask about our dog, even though we only go there once every year at most). However, it is the foods flavor that drew us to love this restaurant. Our relationship with their food is simply a passionate affair between our tongues and a tempest, where flavors weave a tapestry of heat and harmony, whispering secrets of distant, exotic ecstasy. Order the schezuan style spicy food, that is what they specialize in.
