This is from the big box. I had to wait for someone to come out with a ladder and but he was kind of enough to help me find the right box.

Not the best Lion market you could go to. It looked somehow scary and overpriced. The store was completely dirty. It's like stepping into a third world country. Furthermore being it's in east San Jose, don't expect to have a good time here because some of the employees are very shady and are involved in some kind of scam. I have reason to suspect is run by a Romanian scamming ring. If you live at a another branch of Lion Market, you are better off going to that one. The store is also very cold, it felt like I took a trip to Antarctica. I ask do not take shortcuts by going to this store. You will be left with a lot of fear. However I have to give them props for their clams, top of the line but buy at your own risk. Not sure who owns this place but I was using a shopping cart from a mexican market.

Some women at the cash registers kept yelling at me to get the 5 pack packages of one of my favorite instant noodles and buy 6 times that but I already knew what I wanted from the start and insisted on getting the big box that already came with 6 of those packages so my noodles would be organized into one big box. They gave me a hard time about getting the big box of the same noodles. They had the deal of $17.99 and was reduced to $15.99 on those big boxes which I didn't know until someone finally helped get me one big box. They kept insisting I get the individual pack which would have been $3.79 x 6 = $22.74 and that's more than the big box. They were almost fighting me about getting the big box too and inspected the packages in the box when I was in line getting ready to pay like I had done something criminal with it when in fact their own employee cut it open for me to show it was the correct noodles that I was looking for. He was the only friendly employee in that whole store. Anyways I am grateful for the deal of the noodles but their service is not very professional.

Buyer beware this location is suspected of using card skimmers. As I was checking out, I noticed their card readers were bulkier than usual and was held together by clear tape. I tried lifting it up but then immediately the cashier forcefully stopped me. She explained that it was just a cover to prevent the card reader from getting dirty so I told her I want to see what's under the cover since I suspect them of something shady. After a couple of minutes explaining what they're using is suspicious, they still wouldn't prove to me that it's just a cover and not a skimmer. If you have ever used your card at this location, I highly suggest you monitor your bank statements.

I've always tried to give the San Jose - McLaughlin and Story Rd. location the benefit of the doubt. However today was a bit much and the cashier was quite rude. I went in to purchase a hand full of items. Rice seasoning, Unagi Sauce, and 2 pounds of Tomatillos. In case you are not familiar Tomatillos come in a husk and you need to remove the husk to ensure the Tomatillo is ripe and not spoiled. So naturally I pick out two pounds of Tomatillos and remove the husks in the process (as it is done in any other supermarket). When I get to the front of the line she scolds me and asked why I removed the husks. I explain to her why and she proceeds to tell me that "they are all good". She tells me I can not purchase tomatillos without the husk. She tells me I need to go pick out different ones and keep the husk on. I tell her "Let me get this straight you would rather throw the de-husked tomatillos out then sell them to me?" I tell her this does not make any sense and the husk needs to be removed to see the condition of the fruit. She asks if I'm going to go pick out new fruit. I ask to speak to a manager and she tells me the manager is off. I tell her no and leave the Tomatillos behind. Now I understand this is traditionally a Latino fruit maybe the cashier doesn't realize why the husk is removed. However her demeaning behavior and claim that it is store policy to NOT sell the tomatillos with the husk removed is a bit hard to believe. If I buy grapes am I required to purchase the stems? If I buy tomatoes on the vine am I required to buy the vine? If I only want one banana am I required to buy the whole bunch? If I buy corn am I required to buy the husk? I don't understand the logic behind what the employee was telling me and quite frankly I feel that she was just being plain rude to me because she felt she could. I left the store and drove to another store and bought tomatillos and could you believe it? The supermarket I went to sold tomatillos already de-husked. I will never go back to the Lions market and I will make sure to tell everyone I know how badly I was made to feel.

I usually come here if I'm too lazy to go to Ranch 99 and I know for sure the item is available here. This grocery store is subpar to ranch 99 run and the interior is not as clean. Some of the food and produce look meh.I called them last night asking if they had shabu meat and the guy on the phone told me they did. But when I got here, I found out he lied to me and they didn't have shabu meat. They don't have ribeye or premium cuts. The butcher lady offered to shave me some thin slices of the round eye cut. I was already tired from running around to multiple grocery stores so I took the offer. The round eye was definitely not as good as the ribeye or Kobe cuts you get at other markets.

It's not the cleanest but has what I need to complete my grocery shopping list for the day and the prices are reasonable. Vegetables and fruits are fresh except some of their tropical bananas looks overly ripened.

They are fairly large in size and stock quite a bit of quality goods at a fair price. I like to shop here whenever I am in search of specialty snacks and ramen items, but for my fresh produce, I'll always hit the farmer's market first. Their specials and weekly deals keep me coming back for more and the fact that they have an in store fry service available is always a plus. Not a bad place to shop.

Dear Ranch 99/Lion Market distributing to restaurant companies or Asian body of education first parties do not satisfy me because ,feel completely disrespected by this waitress, I took the effort to take the money out of my wallet and tip the monster of a worker and tip her $6 (by the way you don't even have to tip anything, just out of respect) she returned the money back to me and told me to give more than that, I was absolutely shocked because the food was straight up terrible. I mean it seemed like they just microwaved every dish and served it in a cheap bamboo box and called it a dim sum dish. This is the last hell hole of a restaurant serving from a grocery store inc not a chance I would recommend to any family who was planning to eat there.

Absolute worst experience ever! I went inside to look for a soda didn't see the one I was looking for, so I decided to ask one of the employees I seen stocking a shelf if they had the flavor I was looking for. His reply was no and told me another store I could try, I decided to continue my shopping experience at the location I was already at and look for a snack. I noticed another employee was following me up and down the isles. When I asked him why he was following me he said because I look suspicious and I should leave. I asked for management and was told they don't have one.

Over $4,000 loss from my account due to credit card skimming. I was told there is an active investigation on store and management. Management has knowledge and getting payouts for allowing skimmers. They send the info to new york and new jersey to wipe out funds from your account. It happened to me, you have been warned.
