2.5 stars for this visit, but they're still newer to this Local Kitchens location, and I hope they'll continue improving. I saw Lazy Susan pop up a couple months ago, and have been meaning to stop by and give them a try. Their menu at this Local Kitchens location is really simple, and there are really only a few dishes but a lot of different combinations for the dishes. It wasn't busy around 11:45am on a Wednesday, and we placed our order at one of the kiosks inside the building. You can choose between two appetizers (fried chicken & veggie dumplings or crispy spring rolls), a Lazy Plate (their version of a combo plate / choose from 4 bases: jasmine rice, brown rice, veggie fried rice, or veggie chow mein, and choose from 5 entrees: chili hoisin string beans, general tso's chicken, kung pao chicken, orange chicken, beef & broccoli), or order entrees a la carte (veggie fried rice, veggie chow mein, chili hoisin string beans, general tso's chicken, kung pao chicken, beef & broccoli, orange chicken). I decided to go simple and try their Lazy Plate (Served w/Crispy Spring Roll, Brown Rice, $12.95 + $2 Orange Chicken, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=eXQmSymhNctylQXOXmFbyg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg). The system only gave me the option to select from the string beans or orange chicken at the time, and I'm not sure if that meant the other items weren't available yet, or not available that day. Although Local Kitchens is usually really quick with preparing orders, it took 10-15 minutes for this order. I thought my Lazy Plate was ok- the orange chicken was relatively flavorful, but there wasn't quite enough sauce. The brown rice was on the dry side, and the crispy spring roll needed more filling. Luckily, they had sriracha style hot sauce packets, and that added a lot more flavor to the overall plate. The portion was on the smaller side overall for the price. Both indoor and outdoor seating was available, and they had hand sanitizer. California Avenue is closed to traffic in front of Local Kitchens, and you'll need to park on side streets or their designated lots nearby.

After my good experience last time at Local Kitchens @ PA serving Lazy Susan, I decided to go back for more. I ordered Spring Rolls and General Tso's Chicken. It was ready in about 15-mins. How was it?Frozen Spring Rolls! Really? Crispy on the outside, mushy and gooey on the inside. Yuck! General Tso's Chicken- about 80% edible. 20% chewy and hard. Just like the food you get at those Chinese hot food delis where the food sits in warmers or under heat lamps. Strong flavor, best to order rice with it. Customer service was minimal. The young lady at the counter was busy filling sauce cups, and I guess she thought I was a food delivery guy. She treated me like a "nobody" and just handed me my bag. Big difference from last time when the Manager was there. Oh well, move on.....

People were friendly and the experience was fast. It's a quick service space so the vibe was fine and comfortable but mostly for takeout. The food was just as I expect at Lazy Susan's other locations, very good!

Ordered a Combo plate with kung pao chicken, vegetable fried rice, and spring rool. The rice was well cooked but flavorless. The egg roll was crispy, but the inside was mush--likely because it was frozen and dropped directly into the fryer. The Kung Pao chicken was mostly bland, except for a strong vinegary(?) taste. Really tasted like no other kung pao chicken I'd eaten before (and not in a good way). You're better off buying the frozen version from Trader Joe's and making it yourself. Not worth $14. 1/5.

The chicken items, (general tso, orange) are made up of small, hard, mostly batter pieces. A satisfying bite of mostly chicken happened maybe once in the whole container. For comparison, Panda Express is far better. The single start is for the sauces, which are good. I've tried this place three times, and it's consistently disappointing.
