This was one of the best Mexican shops I've been to in South San Francisco! It's situated in a market and there's such a large selection of items. I went with the solid choice of carne asada burrito and al pastor burrito. It was packed with lot of food with meat, tomatoes, guacamole, peppers, beans, and rice. It was a ginormous burrito too, which is always awesome. We enjoyed the pick de gallo pint with the corn fried chips. The staff were all so nice and helpful. It was cool being able to see them cook everything on the grill. I'll definitely be back for more great food!

Located inside a Mexican market is a counter that serves up all the usual items you'll expect from a taqueria.Like others have said the super burrito carnitas is bland and flavorless. There wasn't much protein in it either. At $14.xx, prices are reasonable but taste isn't there. The worker asked if I wanted salsa but didn't get any. The workers were nice at least. No seating available Cash and card acceptedStreet parking is toughTaqueria SB is still the best in the area.

Oof this place has thee best carnitas in all of the peninsula! It's so hard to resist coming here for them. They also serve tacos and burritos where you pick the type of meat, whether you want rice, type of beans (pinto, black, refried), and various toppings (crema, lettuce, avocado, guacamole, salsa, etc.)You can also get all your Mexican shopping done here while also getting your food or meats and cheeses. They have a huge selection of Mexican cheeses and cremas where you can ask for specific weights to take home. They also have Jamaica and the best horchata in the area! This place reminds me of the small tiendas in Mexico and it feels like home. I love this place so much.

Are you looking to do taco night at home? I recently did, and La Tapatia elevated our taco night exponentially! We've been doing taco tuesday at home and have been doing regular grocery shopping, but we decided we needed to kick it up a notch. I went to La Tapatia and I was able to pick up fresh corn tortillas (fresh made daily), Mexican crema, habanero salsa (this is super spicy!), guacamole, freshly shredded monterey jack cheese, and tomatillo salsa all for around $16. If I went to a normal grocery store, I'd spend way more for a lot lower quality. Skip the big brands, and support local. They've got everything you'd need to take your taco night game up a level or two. We already had the meat for the tacos, but they do it sell it here and if there burritos and tacos are any indication of how good the meat options are, you should be good. Definitely worth checking out before your next taco night and a good way to support a local businesses that's been serving the community for decades!

La Tapatia has been a neighborhood staple for decades and I remember how my parents would pick up one of their big burritos for dinner, which was such a treat! I have to say even all these years later the quality and the service are still really amazing. You can feel the strong sense of family when you go inside and walk down through the aisles of this small market to find all the great Mexican treats and ingredients, from fresh salsas to spices to tortilla chips ( pro tip...get the blue corn tortilla chips with guac). You'll get and find it all in one place. I personally love their guacamole. It's so fresh with just a little kick of spice...but the reason why I come here is their Chicharrón botanero - they come in bags that range in price (about $6.50 each bag and that's about half a pound) They are so great and crispy and not too salty. Seems to stay fresh for a long time as well. Really great with your guacamole or a little spicy vinegar. They also have a variety of other things, such as tacos, both fried and not fried, tostadas, Mexican sodas, and so many other things on the menu. You can even get cotija cheese and all the things that you would expect from a great delicatessen. The space feels like you've walked into a traditional market run by family and you feel like family coming inside.Parking in downtown SSF is either metered or street parking but generally speaking pretty easy to find. This is a great local spot to support am so glad that it's still thriving and doing so well after all these years because the quality of the items that they sell are just so worth it.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Hands down the BEST carnitas in the city. Everything is always so fresh and the customer service is always top notch. This place is always packed and for good reason. I always recommend this place to anyone looking for some good greasy food. They sell meat but also burritos, tacos, plates etc.

This is a great spot to buy taqueria burritos, tacos and more. It's a small deli and grocery store. I go to this store for their take out or for items to make my own Mexican meal.I stopped in today for their carnitas by the pound, creama, and avocados to make my own carnitas fries. They have all kinds of premade guacamole, salsa, cheese, tortillas, and everything you need.

I think I found my new go-to spot for authentic mexican eats and groceries and catering. I'm actually astonished that I passed by this gem my entire life. Street parking might be tricky depending on the time of day. There is also the Miller Ave Garage if you are willing to walk 2-3 blocks.Everyone moves FAST in this little storefront. Next time I'll be sure to look up up the menu before entering and stepping in line. Too much pressure! I really like their homemade chips/guac/salsa. Amazing deal and freshly made.Super Burrito w/ Chile Colorado ($12.95) - MASSIVE burrito the size of my entire arm. Half a burrito was already filling. Downside was the huge chunks of beef was very dry. Will have to try something else next time.Chile Relleno ($4.75) - First time trying this and I enjoyed it. Cheese was just a bit too thick for me. You can order it a la carte or in the burrito!
