La Michoacana Fruits & Ice Cream

My favorite spot to go to when I'm in the mood for the sweet and tangy mango bar. So much variety to choose from that sometimes it's difficult to choose because they melt fast so I can't get two. The folks working there are so patient. Thanks.

The local paleteria is the perfect treat on a scorching hot day. I find myself coming back here for the mangonadas, amongst their vast menu of ice cold treats, spicy snacks, and refreshing drinks. They have just about every fruit you can think of in both ice cream and popsicle form. You really won't run out of options here. I love the smooth mango sorbet swirled with the sweet and tangy chamoy, topped with crunchy mango chunks, and complete with a tamarindo stick. As for snacks, they've got nachos, duros, and other hot chips that you can customize with toppings. Service is super friendly and the space is sparkling clean! Find them in the Ardenwood area by the McDonalds.

The ice cream is so fresh! And the store is always clean! The service is fast and efficient! A Newark gem!

Ice cream is super flavorful here! Freshly made! Also has fresh smoothies! I always take the kids here for a quick ice cream treat when we're in the area!

Why have I waited 7 years to come here?! Had I known earlier what La Michoacana was all about, I would have been planning outings around this destination!Owned and operated by Claudia since 2017, this Paleteria (ice bar/popsicle shop) and Neveria (ice cream parlor) has been serving their freshly in-house made popsicles, ice cream, yogurt with fresh fruit, and drinks.If you are new like me, no worries! There are free samples for ice cream and drinks to help you decide on what to get. And well, you can always come back, and you will after you get a taste! The ice cream flavors can be overwhelming and I feel if they had more labels, it'd make deciding a lot easier. I caught myself forgetting which flavors I tried and kept trying to go for more. But there may be a case for this - it engages your eyes on the colors and textures to try to remember that delicious bite you got to try.There are a variety of sizes from mini to large for the ice cream and small to large for the drinks. For the ice cream, small size allows for up to two flavors, medium allows up to three flavors, and four flavors for large. The small was perfect for one person and I'm sure the larger sizes would be great for small parties.Despite serving all the sweets you can imagine, the place is super clean and well organized. There are a few chairs and tables inside as well as benches outside. It's well-lit during the day and night so it's always a perfect time for La Michoacana, even breakfast in our case!Overall, if you're in the mood for something cold and refreshing, make your way to La Michoacana and grab yourself a couple scoops of their ice cream or sorbet, perhaps a few of their fruit popsicles, or maybe a tall glass of their delicious Mexican iced drinks. You may even find this to be your new favorite ice cream spot!

$19+ for two scoop ice cream and a small mangonada?!?! Either I was overcharged or the desserts here are grossly overpriced. Either way, thanks but no thanks :( A lil disappointed since they have really interesting flavors. The mangonada was good. But with those prices, I probably won't return again.

Highly recommend! This is located right next to McDonald's. There's is a small parking lot right in front but we've never had issues not being able to find a spot.They let you try any of the flavors you want and they're all so so good! We love coming here for ice cream and the agua frescas. The employees here are incredibly friendly too and have always felt very welcoming. It's such a pleasant experience all around. They have the best fruit flavors compared to major ice cream chains.

It's not an exaggeration that this is the best ice cream shop in the Bay Area. Everything here tastes so authentic and takes me back to the street vendors from early 2000s LA.This is my 5th time coming here. Brought my family, and friends here. They all LOVE it here. The customer service is top notch. I love how kind the ladies here are. The food quality is very high. The corn in the cup is a favorite of mine. Banana on a stick is really good! The sorbets are in my opinion the best I've ever had!

We came here for dessert after dinner. They variety of options with a Mexican flair. My friend chose fruit and I had ice cream. Next time, I want to try their fancy popsicles.
