Seven years ago, my partner and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at La Fondue, and it was an unforgettable experience. The cozy, dimly lit ambiance created the perfect romantic setting, and the attentive service made the night feel extra special. For our meal, we went all out with the Fondue Feast, starting with a rich and creamy cheese fondue that paired beautifully with fresh bread, apples, and vegetables. Instead of the traditional broth, we opted for the grill, which added a delicious smoky char to the meats. Cooking everything tableside was not only fun but also elevated the flavors--our selection included filet mignon, wild game, and seafood, all of which turned out perfectly tender and juicy. The highlight of the night was our chocolate fondue with flame. Watching the flames caramelize the chocolate added a dramatic and exciting touch, and dipping roasted marshmallows, fresh strawberries, and pound cake into the warm, velvety chocolate was pure bliss.Even after all these years, La Fondue stands out as one of our most memorable dining experiences. If you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique and indulgent night out, this is the place to go.

In a few words: Very Pricey, Unique, Delicious! Worth trying.I had been here once many years ago. My niece came to visit and for her birthday we wanted to do something special and different, so we booked a reservation for La Fondue. You do want to have a reservation. Finding the front door was a bit difficult. You went through a tent flap, and there was a huge dog and table with many people sitting there, and a closed door. That turned out to be the main door, along Big Basin Way. We were first led to an internal room, that had all kinds of sculptures, and my niece was turned off by it. We asked if we could sit elsewhere, and were taken to a room that had a window looking out, and had a much nicer atmosphere. Initially there were two people about to leave, and another two people sitting at a table next to us, who were listening in to our conversation. This turned out to be lucky, as they greatly helped us out in understanding the menu and what options might be best. Our waiter spoke extremely fast, and we had to keep asking him to slow it down and repeat. The couple made ordering much easier. I would definitely peruse the menu online before coming in. I had, and it still seemed a bit confusing. When here years ago, you had to order the same thing. Now, while you do have to have the same cooking method and options, you can order different food items, which worked out perfectly, since one in our group was vegan, one wanted adventurous items (like bison & duck), and the third in the party wanted basic good food, and preferably not items that should be cooked very well to not be unhealthy. You get 4 courses: a salad, a cheese fondue, an entrée fondue, and a chocolate fondue. It sounds like a lot, but, while the salad was a very good size, the rest is not an over-abundance of food, and you eat slowly. Count on being there 2.5 to 3 hours. The cheese fondue: There was a delicious variety of cheese fondue combinations. The couple next to us suggested a couple of them & my niece chose the Stinking Rose, which had a swiss blend and garlic. It was extremely good, but I would love to come back to try others. The entrée fondue: Our vegan person got the vegetable option for $72--very pricey for a few vegetables (but it is including your cheese & chocolate fondue & salad. The rest of us got the Fondue Feast, where you can choose 1 item from 3 columns for $88 per person. Our birthday girl got the chicken/duck/bison option. I got the filet mignon, teriyaki sirloin, and chinoise cheddar (which was a stick of cheese wrapped up in a thin piece of meat - a bit too cheesy for me, and I love cheese!) I would have been happy with just all filet mignon, but that was not an option. The other options get even more pricey, up to $128 and even $180 per person, and were not appetizing sounding to me. My niece loved her more adventurous choices. We had them do the grill method, which was a pan put in front of you, vs. a fondue pot. The couple next to us suggested starting with that method, and it is also recommended on the menu as the most popular. I'd love to go back and try the Punsch method, with red wine, rosemary, & cloves, but the grill method was fine. The chocolate fondue also has many delectable options! If you just got the chocolate fondue on it's own, it is $48, so it seems best to have the full meal at around $88 and get the full experience. The cheese fondue on it's own (along with salad) runs $60 - $78, which is crazy to pay that for so little. I would definitely get more value of your experience and order the full meal. We had the Decadent One, for the chocolate fondue, with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, cinnamon, espresso, Kahlua and Cream. It was delicious! Most of the drinks run from $12 - $22; some much higher; non-alcoholic drinks are $5-$6, or $9 for Evian water. It's not a place most people are going to come to often. It is more of a special event type of place. The couple next to us said they come about once every three months. It is very unique. The waiters work hard to get everything set up for each of your fondues. The food was delicious, and it is a night out that you will remember. I would definitely recommend it as a place to try, a place to celebrate, or if you just need something a bit different for a special evening.

A Perfect New Year's Eve Dining ExperienceI came here for New Year's Eve dinner, and it was an absolute delight! The evening featured a thoughtfully curated prix fixe menu that delivered a decadent journey of flavors. The meal began with a rich and indulgent crab fondue, setting the tone for a truly luxurious experience. The variety of proteins was equally impressive--succulent lobster tail, perfectly cooked shrimp, tender steak, flavorful chicken, and sweet, flaky crab were all on offer. Every bite was perfection. To end the evening on a high note, the dessert was a standout--a luscious chocolate fondue with a hint of chile. The subtle spice added a unique twist to the sweetness, making it the perfect finale to an extraordinary meal. The ambiance was festive yet elegant, making it the perfect setting to welcome the new year. Highly recommend this place for special occasions or simply for an unforgettable culinary experience!

A spontaneous trip on a weekday after a long month. Walked in with a party of 2 without a reservation and was greeted and sat immediately. This restaurant has great ambiance. Our server Jillian was stellar. Great recommendations, very kind and always was checking in with us to make sure we had what we needed for a great experience. Food was good (chocolate fondue & surf & turf) were great. Food and service get a 5 star for me. I will say, inside is very hot and smoky and really killed the 5 star experience. But hey, it's a cook in front of you kind of dining and it should be expected. Id recommend someway to fix the ventilation in the restaurants seating sections. I was sweating! Go in with the expectations to be hot! Other than that you will enjoy your dinner with whoever you are with if you get Jillian as a server.

Best. fondue. experience. ever.I really loved trying this place! Prices are definitely a bit steep as expected, but the fondues are so tasty and if you're a cheese/chocolate lover this is the place for you.I really liked the dimly lit ambience. It honestly made the place so much more classy and cozy. What I really like about this place is that they start you off with salad and each person gets their own plate. It's a really good portion size and honestly I feel like you could get decently full just eating that. Also makes you feel less guilty about eating all that cheese n choccie!Their drinks are wonderful too, and pretty strong so you definitely get your money's worth. If it's a special occasion, they usually give you a champagne glass on the house! So thoughtful of them! After you choose your cheese blend, they whip it right over the stove in front of you! So so cool. Ours was nice and garlicky (the stinking rose), and they give you a bunch of bread and veggies to dip into it. You can also ask them for dipping item refills whenever!I would *definitely* not skip out on the chocolate fondue, but again, these portions are huge so don't be surprised if it's too much for 2 people! (well maybe the cheese.....we did finish that somehow LOL)The flaming tortoise (chocolate flambé) fondue was so good and they gave us sooo many things to dip, from cheesecake bites, pirouette cookies, apples, strawberries, brownies, toffee, and more!Would definitely come back for a special occasion!

We celebrated a birthday here, and it was a lot of fun. The food was amazing, but it's really the whole experience that makes this place a must-visit. Come hungry - you'll leave absolutely stuffed but so satisfied! You start with a fresh individual salad and then they prepare your choice of cheese fondue tableside, complete with plenty of bites for dipping. By the time the meats arrived, we were already getting full, but there's something so fun about grilling your own selection and tasting everything exactly how you like it.Then came the chocolate fondue for dessert! The dippables and the chocolate choices are indulgent and delicious - perfect to end the meal. It's a good place to go with a group or on a romantic date if you're looking for something unique and memorable! The service was great as well. Our server did an excellent job explaining everything to us.

My first time coming here celebrating my anniversary and I definitely want to come back. We got the tasting menu, picked our salad, which cheese, which meats, and dessert. Service was amazing and the decor was somewhat medieval. My favorite meat was definitely the lobster! It was so sweet and delicious. The dessert on the other hand was spectacular! Can't wait for my return!

Went here for a celebration with my partner, and we did Le Freak deal from Groupon. We came on a weekday night, early around 5:45; there were barely any people in the store, but by the time we left around three hours later, it was crowded and the air was smoky. Be prepared to chill for a couple of hours because this is not a quick meal! I think we left at 8:30.I've never done fondue before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was thinking we would cook the meats and then dip it in the cheese, but that's not the case. What's included with this deal was a bottle of bubbles, a big salad, and then you choose your own fondue, which comes with a lot of things to dip it in like bread and vegetables. Next comes the meat which is cooked separately. Lastly you get dessert fondue with chocolate! The champagne was a nice start. The bubbles got us in the mood for food. The chef's salads that came out were enormous. I went with a sweet and sour dressing but they gave way too much and I did not like it.We chose a cajun garlic cheddar cheese combo from the suggestion of our server. I feel like it's a crowd pleaser, but I would be interested in trying the more bitter cheeses. The menu does a good job of explaining the flavors. We waited around for a while with our fondue because we thought the meat and the cheese were supposed to be eaten together. You're actually supposed to wait until you're done with the cheese in order to move onto the meat. I wish this was explained to us. They gave us an array of meats with the rundown, and I highly suggest recording or writing down the meats somewhere because we forgot what everything was after our waiter left. We cooked what seemed obvious to us. It comes with butters and various dipping sauces. I think everything tastes great when it is cooked in garlic butter. It got busy, so it was hard to flag our server down. I think we were able to see him every 25 minutes. The other server was helpful but she got increasingly stressed thorughout our time there.I can't recall much of the specific exotic meats because of all the other circumstances going on during our meal which I'm a bit sad about. When I paid the bill, they initially forgot our Groupon. They did a re-charge and the waiter explained the situation as I was signing things, but when I checked my statement, they overcharged me by like $20 lol.We smelled strongly of meats and butter when we left. I think this is a good one-time experience, but I'm unsure if I'll be back for the same thing due to quality. Treat this like KBBQ.

Came to La Fondue to celebrate our anniversary. Booked some roses and champagne and a place in their rose room. As we entered, we could smell the food right away and it was fabulous. The room itself was larger (and less exclusive) than the reservation page made it seem. Still, it was very pretty and my fiancee really enjoyed the decor. The menu is daunting for a first timer but our server helped us out, and we were soon on our way to dip things in melted cheese. The food was a but heavy but tasty. Not for the faint of heart. Overall, a great experience. The salad bowl was great and probably carried the evening for my health-conscious fiancee.

We had a reservation through Open Table for 8 people. Reservation was confirmed no less than 3 times via text and email. La Fondue charges $50pp for no shows. Reservation confirmation shows "deals" including two free bottles of wine for a party of 8 and 50% off cocktails from 5pm-6pm. My group showed up at 4:57pm. We were told the free bottle message (that I showed them written on the reservation) was a mistake by Open Table and they would not honor it. Then La Fondue proceeded to mark my party as no-shows via Open Table. While at the restaurant I spoke with the manager on duty about the wine sitaution since the general manager was not there. I requested the email address of the GM and received a generic email address and was given the name "Roderick" as the GM.La Fondue can't blame the "no show" report on Open Table. I can't help but think it was malicious as they were not happy when I inquired about the complimentary bottles of wine.Attached is a copy of our receipt (proves we were there) that shows a bottle of wine at $0 that we DID NOT RECEIVE. Also attached, copy of our Open Table reservation that outlines bottle of wine (with a party of 8 it should be two bottles of wine).Food was "good". Our service was nice. Customer service is AWFUL.
