La Casita Chilanga

I'm a burrito refugee from La Cucina's and Jose had to scale down his massive Redwood City taqueria empire to just this spot. Had to follow him over anyway to his remaining restaurant in the Peninsula.He still had the best burritos and the BEST SALSA. Romaine lettuce, properly cooked Spanish rice, fresh beans and just better quality that you can taste. It's magical. Jose also got me into adding cactus into the burritos. It's amazing. I use to live next door and I came here every other day.Redwood City doesn't know how fortunate they are to have Jose's cooking.

If you want authentic Very good Mexican DF food you need to stop by here. I came to this place for years and always is good to come back. They have big portions and very tasteful food. Plus they have peculiar names for their dishes very funny. Service is always friendly and fast and they always serve you chips and salsa in the waiting time at no extra cost. The place its small but comfortable. For easy parking they have a public parking on the back and you can came inside for the back door either so that's very convenient. On this occasion i ordered chicken alambres (fajitas) they are super good and serving you sizzling. Also I love their horchata really good.

We've driven by this casual little restaurant a few times and finally decided to stop in one day for a very late lunch. I understand that CDMX style quesadillas don't typically have melted cheese like the ones we might see more often, so we ordered a zucchini flower quesadilla and a huitlacoche quesadilla to try. I really liked that they were lighter, with just a sprinkle of queso fresco on top, and still stuffed full of filling. And they make their own tortillas.. huge plus. We also recently had a great pambazo in SF so we tried one here as well to compare. It was terrific, with great flavor to the guajillo sauce that the bread is dipped in before grilling. To drink, I ordered a jamaica (hibiscus) agua fresca and my SO ordered a horchata. Both were good. I also had a little taste of fermented pinapple agua fresca called tepache, which I had not tried before and it was also tasty. If you're a beer drinker you would enjoy it. We went home with leftovers of course, as portions are huge, and this is not a bad thing. Prices are reasonable and service is fast and friendly. I'm sure we will stop by again!

The food is delicious I've ordered here typically Catering Taco Bar, but form the beans,rice, carne asada , and chicken all very delicious. Don't be confused when ordering the Taco bar you can get more meat but they will need to explain to you . Helpful service and though I haven't eaten in the restaurant I will say it's definitely worth the food.

El pambazo está muy rico y la sangria preparada está deliciosa. Yo le doy 4/5, para mi poquita más salsa sería mejor. Mi esposo comió la torta cubana y su bebida fue una horchata. Un 5/5 a la horchata y a la torta la califica como un 4/5. Excelente servicio y el ambiente muy calmado. I would highly recommend the pambazo, my husband likes the torta cubana. The horchata was amazing. I ordered a sangria, they add tajin to the rim ( you have to request it).Overall is a quiet and calm place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Very intimate and great service.

I have never had a torta before and this was my first time. This was a great first spot for tortas and now I am very fond of this sandwich. First off, the bread was amazing. It was crispy and soft at the same time and it held all the ingredients together, and there was a LOT of ingredients. This sandwich has a pretty good kick to it from jalapeño and probably the sauce, so heads up if you can't do spicy. The amount of meat, cheese, sauce, and avocado was perfect and complimented each other very well. I was stuffed after half a sandwich.I recommend this and I will be returning!

Torta cubana it's definitely the best as my opinion with a horchata yummy. Highly suggest it to give it a try.

Great Torta! I got the Cubano which was huge (and I'm a big eater). Half of one of these will be enough for most with a normal appetite. It's got beef, pork, ham and turkey. Come hungry!

The Torta was excellent and an instant reason to come back. This will now be added to my regular rotation of lunch spots.

I came in at 8:15pm thinking I had plenty of time to eat and have dinner , and the lady approached me saying they were only serving to go because they closed at 8:30pm . I was really looking forward to trying the food but apparently they don't like business .
