This is a Hole in the wall type of a newer best kept secret Indian restaurant (Under New Management) in South San Jose, I must say!!!The Best of both worlds: Vegetarian & Non Vegetarian Indian cuisine to mostly take away but you can sit down & eat too.I ordered the following:1. Samosa Chaat2. Mutton Pulao3. Gongura Chicken4. Freshly made Roti5. Chicken Piaza6. Gulab Jamun7. TeaAll were Very Good. Excellent Quality of young Goat Meat.I sincerely hope they keep up the Quality & Always.The Owner told me on Special Order he can also get Goat Brain Masala & Fish Biryani made too. (I felt excited & encouraged to order those in future)

I really wanted to like this place more. Since it's rare to have Indian food because only my daughter and I like it. It's close to where I live and they serve all the dishes I tend to order. However, it just wasn't that impressive. The bhel puri was just little flattened chips with toppings. It was good but I've had better. I was looking forward to more than just a chip. The butter chicken was heavy in the cream that the other spices was just not there. Maybe I'll try again another time.

Had a good experience at Kokila's Kitchen! The server was very friendly, provided great recommendations, and the customer service was outstanding. The food was delicious, with decent-sized portions that made it well worth a visit.

I have been eating at irregular times. No, I'm not trying to intermittent fast, but everything is dictated by work because my job is so unpredictable. I did not have breakfast, did not have lunch, had 1 burger patty at dinner so I was checking out Yelp as I was doing some volunteer work w/ the crisis hotline center. My shift was from 7PM-11PM. I could not leave because I was on the shift, so I used technology to get food delivered. The order was placed before I went on Yelp. The reviews made me skeptical and felt I should already anticipate a mediocre meal, but not only was everything delicious, it was spicy as well! I ordered their chicken dum biryani and vada pav. The intoxicating blend of spices and herbs really is what makes this dish amazing. The chicken was tender and the rice was generously portioned. It was spicy! I enjoyed this dish so much. The vada pav was soft, spongy, and it paired very well w/ the chutney it came w/. A comforting meal. I'm glad I went in on a whim.

I love catering from here for parties . I typically order thepla and parathas from here . They are quick and provide the food nice and hot . We are always greeted with a smile . There is seating inside if you want to eat there .

The place is small, so it's more of a takeout spot, but trust me, the food makes it totally worth it.Every dish is packed with so much flavor, and you can tell it's made with real care. The spices are perfectly balanced, nothing overpowering, just rich and satisfying. You'll feel like you're enjoying a homemade meal straight from the heart of India.You'll definitely want to take the food to go and savor it at home. If you're looking for solid, authentic Indian food that's full of flavor, Kokila's Kitchen will not disappoint.Highly recommend it! Kiran anna is good guy as well. My second visit to this restaurant ! A hidden gem in San Jose, California under new ownership. I recently spoke to the owner. He was so attentive while we were dining in after a long day at work with my coworkers. The food was amazing. The chef was very experienced and adhered the food according to our preferences. We asked for more spicy chicken tikka masala, and it was genuinely the best chicken tikka masala I have ever tried anywhere it was made in such a unique way! Definitely worth the visit

It's my 3rd time takeout under new management. Service very prompt and courteous, looks like young couple running the business. As always food tasted great and sometime , just maybe you will get a complimentary item. If you're nice like me there's always something extra. Keep supporting local and delicious food at Kokila South Indian cuisine.

5 stars.Mutton PulaoOne of the best in recent memory. Not too spicy, meat is tender and flavorful, the gravy is just right. Less spicy than the Mutton Biryani.Chicken Vijaywada Biryani.A real banger as well.
