Please save your money and don't go here. I ordered a thai iced tea in a togo cup and the dude brought it out in a regular cup and didn't apologize. Do not get their mango sticky rice for $10. The sticky rice portion was smaller than a spoon. The atmosphere was so dark and I felt like I was in a cave. If you want good thai food go to New Thai Elephant, Nakorn, or Thai Time. Skip this place because you will be disappointed*They decided to respond. No they did not ask to remake my drink. I said it was fine because the dude was stuttering for 30 seconds. Also you can see they don't care about their business because they're saying that it's good that I have other businesses to go to instead of theirs. It's true, I would go to other businesses instead and would never recommend this place to anyone. If you're reading this please run away from this business

Here's a review draft for your feedback:I've been a loyal customer of King of Thai in SF, frequenting this location and the original one for years. The dishes have always felt authentic, flavorful, and consistent--something I really appreciated. However, on this visit, I was disappointed. The dishes, including the Tom Yum soup, were overly sweet, which overwhelmed the usual balance of flavors. The curry, which is usually a highlight, tasted oddly like salad dressing--bland and completely off from what I expected.Additionally, we had to seat ourselves and grab our own menus even though it wasn't busy. Place was clean and tidy.I hope this was just an off day, as I've always loved their food. I'll give them another try, but I really hope they return to the quality that made them a favorite.

Back when King of Thai used to call this space home, all of my visits seemed to come when it was either late into the night and/or when I was...somewhat less than sober. Which, not so coincidentally, is probably why I never knew I hadn't written a review for them. However, ever since King's Thai has taken over, it's pretty clear the nature of my visits have also changed, even if nearly everything else about this place is largely the same. Honestly, between how the decor and the menu look almost identical to King of Thai's, I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing that has changed is the name above the door! While this location looks all too familiar, I will say that this place is a bit nicer looking compared to the other King of Thai's that I've been to. As a whole, the decor is a bit more modern, with a lot of dark and warm tones, but it's far from the trendy vibe that Osha Thai puts out. As for the menu, it's pretty much the same as King of Thai's, but I have to admit I don't remember it looking this interesting (like I said...less than sober). From their appetizers, noodle soups and curries to their fried rice, rice plates, and stir-fried dishes, there's a good variety of both common staples, like Pad See Ew and Kao Gra-Pow, and offerings I see less often, like Guay Tiew Nuer Puir and Roasted Duck Curry.-- FRIED CHICKEN OVER FRIED RICE - Deep Fried Marinated Chicken Cutlet Over Thai Fried Rice...$17Pretty Solid. The batter was nice and crispy and the chicken itself was fairly moist, but I wish the taste of the marinade/seasoning had been stronger. As for the rice, I liked that it wasn't overcooked, wasn't too salty, and had a nice hit of white pepper.-- GUAY TIEW NUER PUIR - Egg Noodles with Beef Stew, Spinach, and Bean Sprouts in Beef Broth...$19I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but it was surprisingly good! The noodles had a nice bite and I liked that the chunks of beef stew were quite tender. The broth was rich and flavorful too, though it was definitely on the fatty side.-- PAD KEE MAO with Chicken - Stir-fried Flat Rice Noodles, Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce, Minced Chicken, Long Beans, Bell Peppers, and Basil...$16Not amazing, but it was a very comforting dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I really liked how well all of the flavors came together. That said, I do wish the dish had more heat to it and that it wasn't quite so oily.-- ANGEL WINGS - Deep Fried Wings Glazed with Sweet Spicy Garlic Chili and Topped with Crispy Sweet Basil...$13Not as good as my favorite Angel Wings out there, but better than most I've had. The wings were hot and juicy and, more impressively, the batter still had a nice crunch under the glaze, which was great, but a touch too sweet.-- GREEN CURRY with Chicken - Medium Spicy Green Curry, Coconut Milk, Bell Peppers, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Basil..$16I LOVE green curry and this didn't disappoint! The curry packed a nice punch, there was a good amount of chicken, and I loved the mix of vegetables they put in. I do wish the curry had been thicker, though, as it felt very runny/thin.-- KAO GRA-PROW with Pork - Sauteed Minced Pork with Bell Peppers and Basil in Special Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce...$16I had a major craving for this and it was so satisfying. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it'd be, but the sauce was still quite delicious and there was a fair amount of pork and basil. I just wish there were more bell peppers and a fried egg!As far as service goes, it may not be the greatest I've ever experienced, but, across all of my visits, I can't say I've run into the types of issues that other Yelpers have mentioned. Yes, there have been times where I've seen the servers hanging around the counter and chatting, but they're still attentive to when customers hail them and they usual float around to check if anything is needed. What's more, the servers have always been really nice and they even made a point of verifying my friend's identity before confirming he left his credit card behind/returning it to him when we went back to reclaim it, rather than just handing it over blindly.Between how the food has been consistently good, the lack of a wait for a table, and how they stay open until midnight (especially rare and appreciated on this side of the city), I find myself coming here more often these days than I did to their predecessors. There are definitely better places in SF for Thai food, but when factoring in convenience and proximity to me, King's Thai is definitely nice to have as a reliable go-to!

Huge plus that this place is open late! My friends and I were looking for dinner at around 10 pm and they were still open for a few hours. We ordered the curry puff, tom-yom soup, panang curry and pad kee-mao. All the dishes were good. We were surprised at the curry puff because we haven't tried it before and it was delicious. Big portion for the Tom-yom soup. We recommend this place

Classic flavors makes every dish feel nostalgic. So far, my favorite Thai spot. Gets busy in the evening time so you know that's a good sign.

I really wish Yelp gave you the ability to give half stars yet again. 3 stars may seem harsh here - we had a pretty solid meal, but felt the flavors were a bit different for some of the Thai classics we love. We got the som tam (papaya salad), phat gra paow with chicken, and the gauy tiew lord. The som tam was good, although milder than we were expecting and could've used more peanuts and tomatoes to add textural contrast to the papaya. The phat gra paow with chicken was also tasty, although not as spicy or basil forward as I would expect traditionally with this dish. We probably should've gone more traditional and gotten ground pork instead of the chicken, but oh well. The gauy tiew lord was definitely loaded with seafood, but was a bit sweet which was unexpected. Fortunately, since they provide each table with traditional Thai condiments, we doused this with spicy vinegar and garlic chili paste, which mellowed out the sweetness and provided some nice acidity and spice. Gotta give credit to this place being open so late! It's great to have a late night outpost with solid food in the Richmond.

Seems like lots of the lower tier reviews about service, so this can vary - but I had a good experience here on a busy Friday night with their service.Nice and cozy restaurant with decent prices for Thai food. I like to rate Thai restaurants based on the level of spicy options available and how fresh the ingredients were.My friend and I ordered different soups and they all tasted like very fresh ingredients. Tom yum was not too sour or too spicy, and they had plenty of sauces available. The Tom Kha was so milky that I was able to smell it across the table. The Spicy Calamari was more sweet than spicy though

Got three things to-go:Green chicken curry: 5/5! The curry was very flavorful and the chicken was cooked just right! Pumpkin curry: 5/5! No complaints here! The spice level is relatively mild compared to what it could be. The kabocha was delicious and sweet, which paired well with the curry.Pad see ew: 3/5. I personally felt like there could have been more flavor here. But the chicken and noodles were cooked well! Chicken was juice and noodles were nice and chewy.TL;DR: Would recommend the pumpkin curry and the green curry! They're not too spicy.

I was extremely surprised to see how low the star rating is for this restaurant...I've only ever ordered in, I have not eaten in person, but it is always delicious. I get the Duck Pad Thai Medium/Spicy. It is consistently just the right spice level and an acceptable amount of meat.
