Ate here on 8/18/24. Spam musubi was okay, but I was served the worst "poke" of my life. Half "salmon" and half crab but the salmon was unrecognizable. Was it actually salmon? I'll never know.I ordered without noticing that they'd received a 67/100 health score from Santa Clara County on 5/2/24 (yikes!). The owners do not care about food quality or hygiene, no pride at all. Do not eat here.

No real Hawaiian food! No Kalua Pork, Kalua pork with cabbage, or Pork with Butter Fish Lau Lau. Other Hawaiian BBQ places have these authentic Hawaiian foods. I'm Hawaiian and don't recommend it.

The food was very bad, I got the katsu plate. The sauce had no flavor and gave you a gross vibe. Very greasy and the service was slow. Although that's mainly due to only having one worker. But overall worst Hawaiian place to eat at.

Kaia is a nice addition to the ever-evolving Oakridge Mall court! I've worked at the mall almost 20 years ago and it's interesting to see the new eateries.Anyways, Kaia serves Hawaiian BBQ and Poke Bowls - which I believe would be a first for this food court! The other thing that caught me eye was the prices, the Hawaiian plate meals were all ~$10 and poke bowl was ~$12...definitely one of the lower priced options.I didn't try the poke but always go for the chicken katsu whenever I try a new Hawaiian BBQ place. Portion was decent (for the price) and the chicken was crispy and breaded well. Mac salad was nothing special and it came with 2 scoops of rice and some katsu sauce. Some people may object but I like that it came served on a bed of steamed cabbage & broccoli...eat your veggies & fiber...it's good for you!Service was friendly and as I said, at the price point...it's a great value. Food was good enough for me to try again another day!

I actually really enjoyed my meal, especially for a mall food court! I chose the short ribs and hubbie chose the fried shrimp for $11.88. All plates come with veggies, rice, and salad. The short ribs were marinated well and tender! The shrimp was crispy. The prices are reasonable: $14.89 for the short rib and $11.89 for the shrimp. The portions are generous and we were both full from our meals.

A brand new restaurant has opened at Oakridge mall, and it's Hawaiian bbq! Super excited to try this place because it's been either L&L or Ono's in the south San Jose Bay Area for me. They also serve poke! Great start of the experience with free samples on the counter of their chicken katsu! Quick ordering system through self serve kiosk or with a staff member. I ordered 4 things for the family: loco moco for myself, 3 spam musubis, chicken katsu plate, and bbq chicken plate. I waited about 10-12 minutes for the order to be complete and taken to go. Spam Musubi: I wouldn't order again since the spam wasn't crispy at all, not enough sauce from other places I've tried, and it completely fell apart after a few bites. It was good to try.Loco Moco: good portions of meat and two cooked eggs. The only issue was that the hamburger meat lacked sauce and it was super dry because the meat was over cooked. I would recommend something other than this. Chicken Katsu: Same as above with lacking Katsu sauce... But, the chicken fry was crispy, light, and delicious. BBQ Chicken Plate: Great piece of chicken on a grill that had a sweet marinade. All the plates above had great salad, rice, and macaroni salad with the entrees.I would order here again and try their fried shrimp.

Nice to have a poke option in Oakridge Mall. I really dislike having to us a screen to place my order. I really would rather talk to someone. I ordered a poke bowl which came with 2 proteins but I added and extra. The toppings were really limited compared to other locations. You are only able to select 5. The actually poke were cut in small cubes 1/4 of the usual size so this made it hard to pick up with the chopsticks and was a very small portion. The popcorn chicken was crispy and paired well with the spicy mayo. I wouldn't come back because of having to Oder in a screen, the size of the fish and the portion given.

This place was surprisingly good for being in the Oakridge mall food court! My husband and I were starving and were in the area, so decided to just grab something quick to eat. I saw that Kaia Hawaiian BBQ was new and had amazing prices so decided to try it out. This place has poke and Hawaiian bbq. Basically stuff you can find at food trucks in Hawaii. I ordered the bbq chicken and my husband got the chicken katsu. We weren't expecting much since it's mall food. Boy, was the food delish! Each of our entrees came with rice, macaroni salad, veggies, and choice of protein. We thought it was a steal since each entree was under $10. Hard to find places that serve big portions, great quality, and cheap nowadays. The poke bowls start at $12 something so that's an amazing price. I'll def be back to try their poke since other prices are close to $20 per bowl now.

Another shop in the Oakridge food court. We tried the chicken katsu and the beef short ribs. Unfortunately we found the food a little bland and underwhelming. Short ribs were also difficult to eat with the plastic utensils. Decent value and convenient if you are already in the mall, but I think you can find better outside.
