Oof, forgot to let my phone eat first as we were all quite famished.Post Hot Chocolate run, we came here for lunch as a group of 7 with it being the first time for many to lavish in spicy marinated crab. I had been raving about this place to everyone so thankfully there wasn't very much of a wait for us when we entered. We ordered two spicy marinated crab, jajang mein, combo fried rice, two double fried chickens, and tangsuyuk.We all chowed down immediately and the food was top tier and fresh. They were so attentive to us with plate refreshes, water, you name it! We all perfectly finished the food and got the haribo gummies with the bill. The prices here are spectacular given that is quite the tough times so highly recommend eating here ~

Came here with a group before a Cow Palace event and man was that a good choice! Good: - My first time trying raw crab - it was a little too spicy for me but otherwise such a good unique experience! They also give you gloves- Super nice staff, talked to us about which concert we were going to and the food also came out very quickly - Loved the ja jeong mian - the texture of the noodles and sauce to food ratio was great - The jjampong was really good too - the soup was tasty and the noodles were chewy - Pork and green bean was really good too, I usually don't like it as a dish - Good prices! Super reasonable. Bad: - Super simple casual place, not a fancy place Overall enjoyed this place so much, love the food!

This place is a must-try. I don't do that well with spice but I didn't care--the food is that good. Spicy raw crab: first time ever having this dish. They provide gloves so it's not as messy! The marination is full of flavor. I powered through the spice. My partner (better spice tolerance) loved this dish. The waitress recommended to eat it with jajangmyeon to cancel out the spice. I will definitely do this next time, since I finished my entire water bottle as well as the tea they provided Seafood jjampong: not as spicy as the crab but just as good. Delicious broth filled with noodles and various seafood. Also contained half a crab!Service was immaculate. Everyone was super nice and happy to ask any questions we had. Definitely coming back for round 2!!!

My to-go place for jjampong and spicy marinated crab!Came here Friday for lunch at ~12:30 pm. Aside from the three other tables of people, the place wasn't packed so we got seated immediately. Normally, with only two large tables and ~8-10 smaller tables, this place ends up filled with a waitlist outside. Parking was tricky as there was street cleaning near the residential on Fridays 12-2pm, and others on Tuesday. Street parking is available on the main street though. What we got:- Black Bean Noodles (jjajangmein)~ Sweetened from the onions, the sauce coats the noodles very well with a savory and slightly sweet flavor. We devoured this bowl before we even got our hands on the jjamppong!- Seafood Jjamppong with lower spice ~ Normally this dish is slightly on the spicier side for me, but to accommodate my friend, I requested less spice. Milder in spice, the broth was very savory and deep in flavor. The table was served with tea, pickled radish, and cabbage kimchi. Note: the normal spice jjamppong is spicier than the cabbage kimchi provided on the table. If you cannot handle the kimchi on the table. the jjampong may be too spicy. All in all this place is very good for some Korean Chinese food. Will definitely return!

We came to back to JJamPPong because we had a bad jajang mein (black bean sauce noodles) at another restaurant in Millbrae a couple of weeks ago. We were talking about coming back the entire week to get jajang mein and their famous Korean double fried chicken. That feeling of satisfaction from a good meal is priceless. Redemption from a bad meal to a great one is twice as good. As a revenge meal, we ordered two orders of fried chicken $20 each, crispy garlic shrimp $24, chow fun $20 and of course, jajang mein $16. The food remains excellent. For the Korean fried chicken, get ready for some sticky fingers goodness. I really like the crunchiness as well as the authentic flavors. Their chef(s) concocted this sweet yet mild spicy glaze for the honey chili chicken which is addicting. We never had their salt and pepper fried chicken before and this was quite good. My favorite remains their garlic sauce version.The surprise standout dish was their beef chow fun. I've must have eaten this dish over a thousand times. Their chef(s)' interpretation added more depth by including chopped onions, scallions, bok choy, choy sum along with bean sprouts. The dish had a good smokey, wok hei flavor with the end tips of the beef, chow fun and onion caramelized. Chow fun could be boring but the chef did a good job with the light seasoning that rivals the best out there.Service was excellent. Constant water refills, extra napkins because the chicken. Side note, the owner's wife recognized me from my crispy noodles photo that I posted on Yelp when they first opened and gave me and my family an oyster sauce clams dish. That was an unexpected revelation. We were already so full. It is nice to be treated like a VIP even though I'm just a regular guy that likes to eat. It is a testament to them being a small local restaurant that recognizes their customers. This genuinely made my week a little bit better. Walking home with a stuffed stomach beyond capacity is delightful. Great job everyone at JJamPPong.

4/5 for the food and the service! Everyone was so welcoming. As for the food:- 4/5 seafood jjamppong: texture of noodles were good and the portion was huge! What fell a bit short for me was the seafood flavor of the broth.- 3.5/5 jajangmyeon: the noodles were also a great texture and I appreciate the cucumber slices! But the sauce itself... I felt like it was lacking in umami flavor? - 3.5/5 double fried garlic chicken: the coating flavor for this one was spot on, but the actual meat itself under the skin was a bit bland. I also expected it to be crispier given it was double fried.- 4.5/5 crispy garlic shrimp: this was surprisingly my favorite dish, and I say surprising because I actually visited this place for the noodles and the fried chicken. Crispy, packed with flavor, and large pieces of shrimp. Love it.

I forgot to take a photo of the jjampong but MYYYYYYY goodness was it one of the most delicious jjampongs i've had in my life. so flavorful and so generous with the amount of seafood in it. the noodles are perfectly cooked and the broth is just lifechanging. The tangsuyuk was impeccable as well. The pork is so tender with the perfect amount of bite to it and the batter was thin and crispy. The sweet and sour sauce was perfectly tangy and sweet, and I love how they put so many vegetables in it. Who knew I would ever like warm cucumbers.... On top of all the mouth watering food, the service is amazing too. Everyone is so sweet and welcoming. If you're reading this, you must come here.

We've been meaning to try JJamPPong for a while now and finally got the chance! Parking is difficult in this area even at 8 pm. But after 10 minutes, we found one about a block away. It's a casual, family style type of restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient and they also speak Chinese and/or Korean. We were hungry and wanted to try a variety, so we decided on 3 dishes even though 1 dish would be enough for 2.***OUR PICKS***DOUBLE FRIED CHICKEN WINGS 3 flavors to choose from: Garlic sauceSalt and pepperHoney chili sauce We chose garlic sauce. There was a hint of sweetness, but still savory and smothered in garlic goodness! Can't say it was crispy after they put the sauce on it, but it was still very good. Salt and pepper may retain the crispiness better. We'll try that next time! 4.5/5GREEN BEAN GARLIC SAUCE ~ perfectly sautéed with lots of garlic! Plenty on the plate too! 5/5SEAFOOD JJAMPPONG ~ a big bowl of seafood and noodles! If you like spicy seafood, you'll love this!! I don't eat spicy food much, but my bf does and really enjoyed this! Perfect noodle texture that's chewy and smooth. 5/5JJamPPong makes great food and even after we stuffed ourselves, we had leftovers from each dish for the next day! Our crew had Koreans who know about the Korean foods pretty well, and we frequently eat Korean foods. We tried two of their popular menu. You have to use the street parkings, and the parking can be tough on the weekends. We spent around 8 minutes just to find the parking in dinner time of Saturday, and we parked 1-2 blocks away (3 minutes walk). We waited around 15 minutes to be seated on that day. The younger lady who was serving for us was nice and attentive. However, the old server (who seems to be Chinese) was rushing everything, and he even forgot what I asked, so I had to ask again. At the end, he spoke to me in both languages (Korean/ Chinese) to say thank you, and I thought that was unnecessary. Overall, there is room for improvement in his customer service skills. - "Sweet & Sour Pork / Tangsuyuk Pork" (as of 3/2025, $23) was very good, but the sauce was too sweet (even though I love the sweet foods). The batter of the pork was crips/ thin, just like how Koreans in Korea cook. This part was amazing. Just FYI: I recommend getting as sauce on the side, if you'd like more crispiness from the battered pork. I believe if the restaurant reduces the sugar amount by 20 percent, it'd be much better. For the price, the portion was adequate. - Spicy raw crab (as of 3/2025, $34) was pretty good too, but it was overpriced for the price. Comes with rice (topped with mix of seaweed pieces+ roasted sesame) and a pack of seaweed. You also have to pay extra $2 just to get the extra pack of the seaweed. The spicy raw crab at here consists of very small size of the crabs (a body of crab is around woman's pinky finger size); also, there is a lack of number of crabs compared to other Koreans restaurants that we tried in Northern CA. For our dish, it only had 6 of small crabs (I counted), and rest of the dish was just veggies/ thick spicy sauced mixed in. For that price, I expected around 9-10 crabs. Also, they ONLY give you kimchi and Korean yellow radish as the side dishes, so that counts as well. IF they will reduce the sugar for the sauce of Tangsuyuk's pork and increase the amount of crabs for spicy raw crab, I likely will re-visit this place. Also, I hope they will serve Korean's soy based raw crab as well, in the near future.
