This review is for delivery. We ordered this because there was a deal on our delivery app, which is always great because you can try out businesses without breaking the bank.We ordered two items: spicy tuna and wasabi tuna Onigris. They were solid options. Larger than I anticipated, but given the price point of each, it made sense. It wasn't quite enough for a meal, but rather a good mid-day snack for 2, which is what we were going for. Presentation was clean and fresh, only issue was they didn't follow order directions, which was kind of a bummer, so we had to pick out the ingredient that we can not eat. Overall, I would order from here again, but definitely need to order more next time to make it a solid meal, which is what the other reviews also point out. What other Onigiris have you all tried?

Tasty fusion onigiris can be found at Island Onigiri! Located in the ghost kitchen at 949 Ruff Drive, you can place your order through Doordash or UberEats for delivery or pick up. It was less than a 15 minute wait when I placed my order around 5pm on a Wednesday, and it was ready for pick up when I arrived. You check in at the kiosks, and the system lets you know which locker to pick up your order at. I tried:[https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=G4gg7TXssvYQutMjkFEsdg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg]-Hanapa'a Onigiri (Spicy Ahi Poke w/Sweet Onion, Green Onion, Seaweed Salad, Avocado, Microgreens, Crispy Seasoned Shallots, Crispy Fish Seasoned Rice, $9): Not a traditional onigiri, as it was loosely put together versus in a tight triangle shape, and there was more filling. I liked the subtle spice from their poke, which was also really fresh. However, I wished there was more poke for the price.-Macaroni Salad ($3.50): Solid macaroni salad, and it was best when eaten with other dishes (otherwise their sauce was a little too zesty). They also have musubis available in addition to onigiris, and I would come back to try their musubis in addition to other onigiris! I hope they also start offering poke bowls as part of their menu.

Straight to the onigiris on this, these are the onigiris we tried. I ordered 14 onigiris for 7 people, among other snacks. I ended up cutting them each in half so everyone could try more flavors. Each onigiri is about the size of half a sandwich. I feel like if I were just ordering for me, I would need two of them to get full. hanapa'a - spicy pe'le poke: I was convinced I ordered two types of poke, and when you look at the two side by side, the poke IS different colors, but honestly both styles of poke onigiri tasted about the same. The marinade flavor for the poke didn't seem to penetrate the fish very much, and the poke was messy so the fish fell out alot.da north shore - wasabi ahi poke, see comment aboveover da rainbow - featuring tamago, spam and chicken katsu, this was the most popular onigiri for us. The ingredients go together well, and the katsu provides a nice crunch. da holoholo - tamago, spam, and coconut shrimp: I enjoyed this one, but not everyone did, it was pretty divisive. The consensus was that it was too sweet. Between the coconut shrimp and the sweet chili sauce, it's definitely the sweetest onigiri.da bacak - tamago, spam, chicken teriyaki: this was good, but kind of just normal. All the other ones look much more exciting, but I think if you're new to onigiris or spam musubis, this is the first one I would recommend. The flavor profile, I would say is most Hawaiian. The style of onigiris is something that is not traditionally japanese, more modern, and the flavors are just like the musibis you can buy in hawaii, with a little extra flair.Overall I thought the food was yummy, filling, flavorful, interesting. The onigiris, in concept, I think would be great for a picnic. Most of them can be hand held, but between the toppings and sauces and just the general size of the onigiris, it does end up kind of messy. I recommend plates and napkins! There are an incredible amount of restaurants at this ghost kitchen, but my friend did the pickup for me, and said the pickup was fine.Another reviewer mentioned soggy seaweed, and honestly I'm in the same boat where I prefer crispy seaweed normally with my onigiri and musubis, but the seaweed was still holding the onigiris together and served their purpose. The only thing preventing me from frequenting more often is that I feel it's overpriced, I can't justify spending this much for like a casual lunch or dinner. I can see that there's alot of care and creativity going into the food though, so I'll just save up to eat here. Support small business!

First, the food: I ordered every single one and the seaweed wraps were soggy. ALL. OF. THEM. The meat (katsu/spam/pork) were dry and over sauced. They're a bit on the pricey side as well. They LOOK great, but taste pretty average. To make matters worse, ordering was misleading and costly. They deleted my Instagram comment after I called them out on their lack of transparency. They operate a ghost kitchen in a building with tons of other kitchens where Uber Eats/ Doordash drivers come to pick up food to deliver. I'm ok with that. However-- you CANNOT put in your order directly at the counter- you HAVE to order through the Uber Eats/Doordash app... and pay all the associated fees :-/. There was no way to order and pick it up myself to avoid the extra surcharge through the app. I had taken my daughter as a special outing and she was bummed we couldn't order. So, as a mother- I had no choice but to order through Uber Eats, pay their $$$$ fees, and get it delivered as I SAT IN THEIR PARKING LOT. Soooo ridiculous. I suggested on their Instagram to be more transparent with their customers because they don't operate their business like other restaurants where you can just go, order, and pickup easily. They deleted me. I guess they are ok with the smokescreen operation. They shouldn't feel insecure about not having a storefront. It's an interesting and cost effective business model to operate in a kitchen you share with a bunch of other restaurants and have it be a central place for Uber Eats/Doordash drivers to come pick up food to deliver. It would be nice to have the option to order through the app and be able to pickup yourself. Just be upfront and honest about the process that's all.

Tacos are good. Hawaii, good. Hawaiian Tacos, great. They are a bit messy, but the joy of tacos is the stuff that falls out and you can eat later. Like a second taco. A second hawaiian taco. A bit pricey, but its fish and they're pretty decent sized. Good stuff.

This is the very first time I've eaten onigiri with a fork and knife. Their "onigiri" is basically an open sushi roll that spills all its contents when you pick it up with your hand. There's no way to eat this the way it's intended, which makes you wonder why they don't just stuff the ingredients in a bowl, give you a fork and call it a day. It's gimmicky and it doesn't work.Flavor wise, I thought the Hanapa'a was pretty good. It had basic poke ingredients and the sauce had the right amount of sweetness. Da North Shore was a bit underwhelming, probably because the other one had so much flavor. This one mostly just tasted like wasabi and the micro greens tasted a little bitter. Lastly, these are overpriced. One barely fills you up, the whole experience was a mess, and it was just ok food. There's absolutely no way you can justify a $9 price tag on these.

Kind of like a mix between a poke bowl and a sushi roll. Cool idea. The rice is good, food tasted pretty fresh. Could be a little easier to eat. But I managed to eat it.
