A solid consistent restaurant that never disappoints. Orders:Sesame Chicken w.Broccoli- very crispy fried chicken pieces, but overly saucy & sweet for my liking. I wouldn't order this again but I did like the steamed broccoli.Rice Noodle Roll in XO sauce- a generous amount with pieces of shrimp & jalapeño, excellent from start to finish.Chinese Broccoli Beef over Rice-a solid dish we always get with the perfect sauce & tender pieces of beef. We always enjoy coming to HK BBQ & they certainly have no shortage of customers.

It was just ok. I called to order and picked it up. The house soup was no good. The beef tasted like something I have never tasted before and I have eaten at a lot of Asian restaurants. I ended up throwing the soup away after I tasted the meat. I liked the house chow mein but it didn't have a lot of meat, there was a lot of chow mein tho which is good! I can see it being good if you've meat to mix it with at least for two people. Prices are more, both plates were about 35 ish dollars.I wouldn't come back given the taste, I think I can find a better place :) but if you're in a hurry or are into big portions both plates were huge!

One of the few and only Chinese restaurants in the area, Hong Kong BBQ of Castro Valley provides popular Cantonese dishes ranging from the hanging meats to congee and other rice dishes. Although there are clear improvements to be made, the restaurant is well positioned given its lack of similar food within Castro Valley.Taste: 4/5Service: 3/5Ambiance: 3.5/5Value for money: 3/5We had:1) Egg & beef rice: probably their best dish, it is good and consistent2) hanging meats/Shao la is a hit or miss3) Salt and pepper pumpkin dish used to be good but recently has been either too salty or too soggy4) Yang Zhou fried rice is consistent too5) Congee is consistent

After a pickup at the Oakland Airport, this was the place to go on a Saturday evening. Easily got a table, but it was a little chaotic due to the high number of people grabbing food to go. We ordered the spicy salt shrimp, the orange flavored spare ribs (no, it is not orange chicken, but a great spare ribs dish), and the Singapore style rice noodles. The spicy salt shrinp was one of the better versions of this dish - really firm shrimp but fully edible (including shells and the shrimp heads).

Casual dining environment with lots of customers coming in for take outs- their roasted items are incredible- flavorful and tender soy chicken that's not dry, and when you order cha su/roasted pork just know you have the option to request lean or fatty parts (I opted for half and half). Definitely will be back!

My best description for dining experience today is extremely disappointing. This is my go to Chinese bbq place in town. Tonight was definitely not their finest, it was quite the opposite. Service is their usual, just give us your order, no pleasantry, smile or friendly banter. I get. My order should be up their will house - roast pork and roast duck over rice. There's a quarter of a roast pig hung but what was served was plenty of roast pork meat but the most desired part is the crispy crunchy pork skin was missing in action. In its place was few limpy skin. Whereas the duck portion appeared generous and tasted alright. I think I will limit my visits in the future and narrow my selection.

This is my new go-to Chinese BBQ spot! The food is spectacular and authentic. Great portions for the price. My first time here I tried the roast duck, BBQ pork, garlic Chinese broccoli, and roast duck wonton noodle soup - all so delicious! The restaurant was extremely clean and organized, unlike some other Chinese restaurants that do not keep so clean. Lastly, the service was phenomenal. The waiter was so respectful and attentive. The other workers there were very hard at work and nice too when I observed them interacting with other customers. I highly recommend trying this place out and even dining in if you have the time!

The food is good but the service isn't as good. I ordered food to go and the lady took my order with an attitude and tell me to grab the menu myself and when I have question she doesn't seem like she want to answer it.

Service, super sucks !It's like going to a market in Asia. The servers and the owner don't care if they yell at each. Very disrespectful! The food is ok. Not something that I can recommend to friends that they have delicious foods. They used too much cooking oil which makes my friend rice so greasy.Price is ok, knowing that the food is plenty in the plate.
