This was the perfect place for my wife and I to enjoy our Valentine's Day dinner. Like so many we encountered who didn't reserve or previously plan in advance to go to a particular restaurant our options were limited. Thankfully, Hayashi came to the rescue. Although there was only 30 minutes until closing, management quickly seated us, and anyone else who followed, happy to serve them. The service was excellent. The food options were decent. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our combo meal which consisted of a delicious rainbow roll and teriyaki beef. In addition to that we ordered some alcohol, but I cannot recall unfortunately, the drink my wife ordered. It came in a really cool bottle that had ice cubes centered out in the middle to keep the alcohol nice and cold. Both of us were more than satisfied. Not just in the quality of food, great service, but beautiful scenery that carried an aura of happiness for each customer that was seated in their restaurant. We look forward to coming back here again, and I happily write this place a 5/5!

The moment I tasted the wasabi, I knew I was in for an extraordinary experience. A restaurant that prioritizes authentic, real wasabi speaks volumes about its commitment to quality. My girlfriend and I were absolutely blown away by every single aspect of our visit. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive to our table, and made the experience a great one.And... being inside the restaurant makes you feel like you have been teleported to Japan. We have already recommended this to family/friends and I would recommend you too come and try it out. You won't be disappointed!!

Decided to try it for the first time since I heard about it's grand opening.I placed a to go lunch order for 3 item bento box (chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu & salmon teriyaki) and was given a 20 mins approx wait time. I went to pick up my order only to realize it wasn't ready. The owner told me to have a seat to which I asked how much time would it take. It was only then I realized that he had just started cooking my food. I waited for another 10 mins for my food to be ready. This was well over a 30 mins wait from placing the order to picking it up. The restaurant was empty, I don't know why my order wasn't even ready. After coming back home I realized that I received a wrong item from my order which I didn't even want to eat (raw fish). Sorry but that's not what I ordered. The food portions were small for a bento box. Food quality wasn't even that good. Seems like it's only 1 person managing the restaurant and at the same time preparing the food/orders. I support local businesses but this was truly disappointing. I don't think I'll be coming back. As someone else mentioned in their review that they cook fresh food and so the longer wait time. I understand that and it's a good thing but opening a restaurant of a large size & being severely understaffed doesn't make sense to me. If cooking fresh is their motto then why even bother to give a 20 mins wait time. They should instead let their customers know when placing their order that they'll start cooking only when you get there.

Date: 12/23/2024 Time: 5:10 PM 59° CoolHayashi Japanese Cuisine has an ad on Facebook. I checked out the ad and saw they are a local eatery on Park Street. I had two stops to go for shopping at CVS and a visit to City Hall to purchase two tee shirts from the City Manager's office. Thereafter, I was hungry. I decided on Hayashi because I have never been to this restaurant. Its location is on the corner of Park and Webb. This location was once Habanas Cuban Cuisine. After perusing the menu, it didn't take me long to decide what wanted for an early dinner. Wakame and shrimp/10-pc. vegetable tempura to go, please. The cook took my order and told me the wait time for tgmhe food is about ten minutes.Specialties: salads, appetizers, tempura, donburi, dinner combo, noodles, lunch bento boxes, lunch sushi specials, and a large selection of an assortment of sushi, sashimi.Wakame, as always, is on point and quite good. I enjoyed the tempura. I can't seem to switch up to order the donburi, dinner combo or the udon noodles. It is a force of habit that I order the same items no matter which Japanese restaurant I am visiting. The ambience is one of casual and comfy. A sushi bar with tall chairs is facing the Park Street side. Dining area is to the right of the entrance. Street parking is okay. Public parking lot is nearby. Also, AC buses 20, 51A are nearby. Service: I did not see other employees but the cook and the hostess. They were attentive and pleasant. Return visit? Yes, for either udon noodles or the donburi; possibly for something on the classic rolls menu.

I got a sake don and teriyaki chicken here for take out. Chicken was not very tender, salmon slices for sake don were so thin ...Overpriced in my opinion.

Had a lovely experience at the new Hayashi Japanese cuisine on Park. Super friendly staff and the freshest seafood ever. Love their big booths and low lighting. Highly recommend! Will be back soon!

I was so excited about a new sushi place in Alameda so of course I had to try it. Didn't get much sushi for the price but wouldn't mind if the food was good BUT found a hair in my sushi! That really did it for me. I had high hopes for this place but sadly, I will not order from them again.

One of the best resturants I've been to during my 3 years in the Bay Area. The ambiance was amazing, very clean and modern. Upscale restaurant designed with authentic Japanese elements that made us feel like we were actually in Japan! The service was immaculate, we were greeted with a smile and our waitress was very sweet and attentive, she even offered us refill for our water on our way out! The food was really good, everything was fresh and flavorful--it is hands down the best sushi I've had. The beef teriyaki was cooked nicely and was juicy! They had lots of options for sake w descriptions for each (comes in a nice looking chilled pitcher w shot glasses) and had other types of Japanese's drinks like plum wine. Could not have asked for a better b-day dinner, can't wait to come back!!!
