Came here to try the jian bing, and it turned out alright, but ended up really enjoying their chive pockets, and appreciate the variety of food items you can get here ~ frozen dumplings, frozen buns, flaky pastry-cookies, hot deli items, cold deli items, made-to-order jian bing, etc..The jian bing was a large portion for $7.99 and they'll ask if you want it spicy or not - spicy comes with a sweet-spicy sauce layered inside, and isn't that spicy, just has a kick. I ordered 1 spicy & 1 non. They looked perfectly made, with the layer of egg, fried cracker, sweet sauce, green onions. It was overall not bad, but didn't blow my mind, and also after eating halfway through, started to taste a little oily (*3/5*).The chive pocket was a frozen/cook-at-home bag of 3 large pieces for $14.99, which is a little cheaper than having it at a restaurant. It was full of chives and egg, flavorful, not greasy tasting, and cooked easily (*5/5*).Also got their Sichuan steamed pork from their hot deli & a black fungus vinaigrette salad from their cold deli ~ the steamed pork flavor profile was a little odd to me, but wasn't sure if I'm just not familiar with this dish. It didn't taste of much spices (no peppercorn / fennel taste), and rather was a little sweet (*1/5*). The fungus salad was as expected and fine (*3/5*). Overall service was good - the staff lady that day was pretty patient and helpful answering my questions.

They have multiple locations but the Newark location is closer for us. It's in a plaza so there's plenty of parking (close by to the 99 Ranch). Staff were friendly. We usually get the frozen dumplings: Classic Pork & Cabbage/Bok Choi, and Pork & Sweet Corn. 50 pieces for $21.99. They have plenty of other frozen items (such as bao/buns, wonton, pies, and etc.) and hot food as well.

The lady was very friendly. She was very nice. The store has a lot of items which are frozen and ready to take home mostly buns and dumplings. I got the pastries to try. Six for $15. Homemade food is always good. Support them in Newark community.

Hanson's Pastry offers frozen dumplings that are both convenient and flavorful. The dumplings are well-made, with a good balance of filling and dough. They cook up nicely and deliver a rich, satisfying taste. However, they are a bit pricey compared to other frozen dumpling options. While they're a reliable choice for a quick and tasty meal, the cost might be a consideration for those on a budget. Despite the price, the quality and convenience make them a solid option for enjoying homemade-style dumplings.

Plenty of frozen dumplings for sale. Got a bag of the chicken and corn dumplings. Very tasty and easy to make. Also got someflaky pastry they had on display. Flaky pastries with fillings inside.... Got the coconut, pineapple, mung beans and red bean paste. Not my favorite but the elders like them. Some language barrier but the cashier was super friendly and nice. Will be back for my frozen dumplings.

Excellent Chinese pastries! We love their peanut ones with real chunky peanuts. Highly recommended if you love peanuts. They also have frozen dumplings, tasty but a little salty for me.

Really wanted to try some hand made dumplings. Stepping into the shop, although small, is packed with many items and lots of dumpling options. Easy to shop with everything labeled. The woman working was nice as she rang me up for the couple items I picked up:Pork and chive dumplings - I like a thicker wrapping but the filling was flavorful but too salty for me. There is a good amount of filling to wrap ratio. Chives weren't overpowering in flavor.Red bean buns - although it tasted like real red bean, it was very dry and sandy in texture.

Service was amazing. Even though there was a language barrier there. Recommended different ones since I couldn't decide. Ambiance is quiet and cute and homey. And I tried the food once I got home and it was like a family member made it just for me and it was delicious

Dumplings are one of my favorite foods and I was excited to see this dumpling shop open in the area. It's kind of small, but they pack a lot of frozen dumplings, pastries, and buns in here. You can find eclectic dumpling flavors here. My favorites are the pork soup dumplings, fish dumplings, and pork and cabbage dumplings. The only things I've had here which were kind of disappointing were the buns which were bland and dry and the leek dumplings which I'm pretty sure they use dill instead of leek and there was a lot of it which overpowered everything.I've been back a few times already and stocked up my freezer with my favorites!
