Been a while since I've last visited and updated my review. This time it's a 4/5 rating. I noticed some differences in packaging, portions, and pricing. It doesn't compare well to the other Korean spots that I normally go to in Cupertino, Santa Clara, or Milpitas area. I still wanted to support this small business (no social media presence). I ordered the seafood pancake $19.95 and LA Galbi (beef short ribs) $32.95. I understand the economy and expenses had played a role in the price increase. The seafood pancake was great size for $20 but when I took it to-go, I noticed it was not very crispy and kinda soggy. I prefer my seafood pancake crispy please! As for the LA Galbi it came with side of rice, banchans, and individually packaged beef short ribs in reusable container. There was actually a good amount of beef short ribs but $33 worth? I'm not quite sure about that. Some of the pieces I got seemed slightly over with very small burnt specs. I just picked it off. But the Galbi flavor itself was well marinated. Not the softest tho. Japchae, kimchi, and spicy cucumbers were enjoyable. Service was very kind but there was a bit of a wait. I'll come for the chicken katsu next time!

Hankki House I would consider to be a decent Korean restaurant for South San Jose. It definitely won't compare to the Korean restaurants further north like in Cupertino or Sunnyvale, but the convenience in location will overshadow it.We ordered the kalbi and a bone soup noodle, and both were really great. The food came out in an okay amount of time, it seems like they can get easily overwhelmed in rush hour though due to understaffing. But the bonchon is great. It's a small cozy place in a plaza with great parking. The place itself is nothing to write home about or post on social medias, but it has a lot of heart. In terms of value for price, I think it's okay. Not a value grab at all and I would consider it to be at the boundary before I would say it's too expensive. If you're feeling Korean and you don't want to deal with difficult parking, then this is the place to go.

There's lunch specials and other items on their menu. I didn't realize I barely made it during their lunch service. I had ran errands and went there to grab some take out. Luckily the gentleman let me order which I'm grateful for. There's a break in between lunch and dinner service. I ordered their beef Japchae for takeout.

We stopped here after we did a long hike. We were hungry. I ordered the ttelebokki (rice cakes). They were good, but I didn't expect it to me this way. I expected it with the red sauce mixed in with meat and veggies. The dish was still tasty. The seafood pancake was delicious. It's more of doughy batter than really fried and crunchy. It came out hot on the hot plate. Overall, I thought the food was ok...a little more pricy on the end. This place is located in strip mall and next to Jamba Juice. Thank you for the food and service.

This is one of my favorite spots not just on the Southside but all of San Jose. The staff is amazing, friendly and they have a great memory. I come here 1-2 times a week for their Hot Stone or their Ramen. Everything comes out fresh, hot and delicious. The flavors are perfect and will leave you wanting more. It's a very relaxed environment, they do play some Kpop. Very relaxing. Definitely recommend.

Someone recommended us the place. However, the experience wasn't as good as we thought. It's a small business, and I feel like they were a bit unstaffed. The food took 30 mins to come out. The side dishes came out after the main dish. The teokbokki was meh to us. It wasn't spicy although we picked the spicy option. It wasn't packed with flavor. We got some good teokbokki in San Diego before, so we always make a comparison with that experience. Our continue search for good teokbokki place in South Bay will not end here. The fried chicken was also meh sadly. I ended up using teokbokki sauce to enhance the flavor. Given the amount of food we got and the cost, we think the restaurant was a bit pricy. We probably check back this place again but maybe more main dishes instead of these.

Delicious Korean food at a competitive price compared to other Korean restaurants in the South Bay. I like that they offer a non-spicy version of tteokbokki, as I prefer the savory quality to it and most Korean restaurants only sell the spicy version.Their soft dumplings are on the smaller side, but tasty and come with 12 for $11.Really good offering of side dishes, especially if you opt to eat in instead of take out.

I had such an amazing experience at Hankki House! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-tier.The bulgogi was hands-down my favorite--so flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was packed with that rich, slightly sweet, and savory goodness. The japchae was also fantastic, with just the right balance of chewy noodles and fresh veggies. Plus, the banchan (side dishes) were a great complement to the meal, especially the house made kimchi and pickled cucumbers.Beyond the food, the service was incredible! The staff was so sweet and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and creating such a warm, welcoming vibe.If you're looking for delicious, authentic Korean food with amazing hospitality, Hankki House is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!
