Absolutely amazing! Five stars. Can't wait to go back. Loved the food and drinks. This was one of the best dates I've had. They do it right. They even give you a yummy rice drink after your meal. Be prepared to be hungry because it's always a lot of food. It's a little pricey but with how much food you get and how authentic it is, it's absolutely worth it.

Today, all six of us; gorged on the lunch specials.Beef, pork, soba soup, egg pancake, fluffy egg bowl, soba with veggies. Many side dishes. Each person ordered a lunch special: either meat or a soup. And we ordered a couple more to boot, too many to remember. All was fresh tasting and not too spicy.About $240 with tax and tip; we ate like royalty.Customer service: goodRecommended.

The side dishes are yummy and that's it. We ordered three servings of bbq, two marinated galbi and a seasoned galbi. The marinated galbi had one of the worst meat quality. They also cut it really thin that light can shine through the meat. The portion was also very small. Two servings here were less than one serving from another Korean bbq restaurant I normally go to. The seasoned galbi is FROZEN! It's not even fully defrosted. We also ordered a dokbokki (rice cake). Normally dokbokki has the Rick cake, fish cake, and maybe some veggies. They only had rice cake. And the Rice cake was not chewy but tasted like the leftover reheated rice cake, that the texture of the rice cake was too soft. It didn't taste freshly made. I would say maybe other dishes could be good, but the bbq is definitely not worth the price and the wait.

As an enthusiast for Korean BBQ who dines at Kbbq places weekly, I strongly recommend you against this place. Starting from the okay part, the service and small dishes are fine, and the restaurant is nice and clean. They didn't go with the trashy stainless steel tray but didn't use the right one for kalbi either (the wire-web like structured tray if you know what I mean)However...Price is normal for a Kbbq but they serve meat with extremely low quality. For the kalbi meat choices, the marinated one comes with very low amount, and to make it seem not pathetic the meat was cut in very thin slices, where the thinnest part feel barely thicker than bulgogi. Quality-wise, it is very hard to come across short rib with such low quality, way worse than even USDA choice, absolutely no marbling for this supposedly more fatty portion of cow. For the seasoned short rib, the quantity is a lot more, but they have very obviously been frozen, for this price tag and knowing the beef is not imported, no sir you SHOULD NOT be serving me frozen meat. In a nutshell, surely it is edible but I seriously regret paying almost 200 for two persons that I ended up with a half vacant belly and leftovers that I probably never want to touch again, ruined my day. Strongly recommend you to explore options down south in Sunnyvale instead

One of my favorite Korean restaurants in SF!! The Galbitang was sooooo filling and the broth was very flavorful. They gave a LOT of banchan as well and even gave us a complimentary steamed egg!

Overall an excellent lunch! I think the service is a bit fast paced as they seem very busy but that's expected for popular places. The bulgogi had a really great portion and it was definitely worth it for the lunch special. The beef was tender and still had good crispy bits. I appreciated the side dishes and there was a decent variety too of savory, sweet, and salty. The galbitang had a really nice broth that I wish I got spicier. We got mild spice and it definitely needed more of a kick. The short rib was tasty and tender. I appreciated the portion sizes as I felt super full by the end of the meal. The steamed egg was super fluffy and yummy over rice as well. At the end, we got a complementary sweet rice drink that topped off the meal and it was an overall very pleasant and delicious experience

Han Il Kwan offers fantastic KBBQ vibes with all the traditional side dishes you expect. I always love to pair my pork belly with some good cold soju in this restaurant. The side dishes that come with the BBQ are always a highlight for me as well, and I love how they balance the rich flavors of the grilled meats. You have the option to let the kitchen handle the cooking, but personally, I enjoy taking charge and grilling it myself at the table. It adds to the fun of the experience. The service is fast-paced and feels really authentic, which makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff is efficient, and even during busy times, everything moves smoothly. Steamed eggs are also complimentary with the BBQ, and they're a great little addition to the meal.Parking is street parking, which can be tricky, but it's worth it. One of my favorite dishes is the intestine stew! It's hearty, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with rice and grilled meat. If there's one thing I'd add to make this place even better, it would be some cheesy corn and potato salad, but other than that, Han Il Kwan is already amazing.

Whenever I find myself craving genuine Korean cuisine, Han Il Kwan in San Francisco is my top choice. Despite the frequent lines, the wait is always worth it. The service is consistently top-notch. From the moment you're seated, the staff will provide a wide selections of tasty, flavorful banchan. They are attentive and helpful throughout the whole dining experience and often go the extra mile by offering complimentary dishes such as tofu soup and steamed eggs. I've tried a wide variety of dishes at Han Il Kwan, both Korean BBQ and non-BBQ styles, and each one has been outstanding. Some of my go-to favorites include: Short Ribs, Bulgogi, Dolsot Bibimbap, Seafood Pancakes, Steamed Eggs, Beef Rib Soup. The portion sizes are generally generous, leaving you feeling full and satisfied. Extra bonus: there are plenty of moving spaces at the restaurant once you are seated - did not have to fear that you might accidentally elbow someone while eating. At the end, they will also give you a sweet rice drink to finish off the meal.

I had the pleasure of visiting Han Il Kwan with a couple visiting friends. I'm very picky with Korean food in the Bay, so I was initially skeptical and while Han Il Kwan didn't necessarily blow me away, I think it's an alright Korean spot if you're craving!Service was great despite the restaurant being absolutely packed, although the wait staff seemed a tiny bit stretched. As for the food, we pretty much only ordered jjigaes and various stews. Personally, I got the Nnengmyun, but found it nowhere near as good as the hot soups and stews! But overall, Han Il Kwan is a solid Korean joint if you're in the area.

Arguably my favorite Korean food spot for lunch in SF proper. I've come here a few times, and the quality (and abundance) of food never fails to impress. I came here for a solo lunch once on a weekday and ordered a Kalbi set off the lunch specials -- and got a bunch of fresh banchan (the cucumbers are especially nice and refreshing) to start. Then, the set also came with a steam egg in a hot stone pot which was nice and fluffy. Then the kalbi short rib was well-marinated (but not overly sweet) and reasonably tender. For $21 (pre-tax/tip), I was super full and satisfied after this meal. Then they also give you a tasty semisweet rice drink at the end when you finish your meal. I've also ordered off the normal menu and the food was equally good, The inside/furniture is all very simple and the service was pretty standard. Located in a quiet part of the outer Richmond, eating at Han Il Kwan really warms my heart (and taste buds) :)
