Great location in downtown Livermore! Very nice and clean inside. Wonderful service. The staff is attentive and friendly. I love that they ask you if you want iced water or hot water! Hot water!!!! Yes. Please!!They had an array of banchan dishes that all tasted fresh and so flavorful. We ordered:Korean Style Pork Katsu: Crisp and moist. Fried perfectly. Not greasy. The cabbage salad was fresh. The macaroni salad was just the right amount. Good sized portion. 5 Wings and 3 Drums: We ordered this with soy garlic sauce on the side. It was okay. I wish it didn't have batter but it was good. I want to try it with a different sauce next time. Jap Chae: Soooooo good! I love these noodles but GueZip makes it with this delicious smoky flavor. The mushrooms in this dish had amazing great flavor!! I could eat this alone by itself. I'm returning! So much to try.

We came here because we were in Livermore and wanted to eat Korean food. We ordered the Jjajang Myun and the Half Sauce Glazed Fried Chicken. The Half Sauce Glazed Fried Chicken had a great sauce glazed on it. It tasted very good! The batter was good too! The only thing I didn't like too much was that there were small bones while eating the chicken. Outwardly, you can't see the bones, but while taking a bite of the chicken and chewing, there were fragments of bones in there that I had to spit out a few times. The Jjajang Myun was flavorful with the black bean sauce mixed with pork and the vegetables. I liked it.

Solid Korean food in the tri valley! We came on a cold and rainy night. Arrived around 8pm after going to Deacon Dave's to look at Christmas lights (highly recommend that by the way).Food was very good and banchan was yummy even though portions were small. They have combo soup and meat and a variety of dishes. My daughter was fixated with the Korean baking that they were featuring on the big screens.Service was nice, and they have a bar as well.

We were kinda looking forward to trying GueZip, but our experience here was somewhat frustrating. We heard good things about this place, like how great and authentic the food tastes. But we came on a Friday night, the week right before the holiday weekend, so that may be why service was how it was. I was going to waitlist through Yelp, but they only allowed waitlisting if you're within a one-mile radius and even when we were close enough, it errored out twice. For our party of six, we waited around 20-30 mins to be seated. The one female waitress was great. She's quick, apologized for the wait, and gave us periodic updates. However, the others were on the slower side. Maybe they're new, I don't know. Once we were seated and settled, it took another 10 mins or so to actually receive menus. So.. a bit of a slow start. For our table, we ordered 1) Korean BBQ Short Rib Galbi, 2) Seafood Pancake, 3) Sauce Glazed Fried Chicken, 4) Army Stew, 5) Bibimbap, 6) Corn Cheese, 7) Seafood Tofu Soup (for myself). Food thoughts:- Banchan: 2/5 - These came first and they're quite stingy with the amount. There were seven different plates, but the amount they give is so small it's hardly shareable between 5 adults (+1 toddler). The banchans were pretty decent. The best being the kimchi and bean sprouts, but one plate each wasn't enough for everyone to try.- Galbi: 4/5 - These were nice and tender. Flavorful and just a tad saucy, which was great, but a tad on the pricey side for the amount given. - Seafood Pancake: 4/5 - The crunch on these pancake were great. There were plenty of seafood in there. It was a light and fluffy seafood pancake, but dipping sauce was a little lacking. - Sauce Glazed Fried Chicken: 4/5- The menu is a little confusing in that they have a section labeled as 'Korean Fried Chicken', but underneath they also have a section for 'Wings & Drums'. 'Wings & Drums' section clearly labeled out the number of pieces at specific price points, but that's not the case for the 'Korean Fried Chicken' section, so we just ordered C2, Sauce Glazed Fried Chicken, and wow, when they served that mountain of chicken, we were like 'woooooah'. The chicken pieces were delicious, don't get me wrong. They were saucy, not too spicy, kinda sweet, and it's kinda like Orange Chicken texture but better. The other layer of the chicken (not the batter) is a little tougher, but the inside is tender, juicy, and falls off the bone easily. However, we did end up taking more than half of the order home, so I wish they noted approximately how many people this would serve.- Seafood Tofu Soup: 4.5/5 - I have to say, I like what I ordered best. This was exactly what I was looking for on this chilly day. Something hot and comforting. There were a mix of small shrimps, clams, mushrooms, veggies, and lots of tofu. I got level 1 mild spice, and it was perfect. The only thing was I didn't even know they cracked an egg before serving. I know it usually comes with the egg, but I didn't see it since it was already submerged, and by the time it came up, it was thoroughly cooked...I didn't get go for the Army Stew or Cheese Corn, but the Army Stew seemed to be a hit among my party. The Corn Cheese.. not so much. The cheese wasn't thoroughly melted, so it wasn't that appetizing. Although food was pretty good for the most part, I have to say the most frustrating part was service. Again, maybe because the workers are new, or maybe they're not used to such a crowd, I'm not sure what the case was, but things that made the meal not as enjoyable included 1) the hot tea service. Yes, we asked for hot tea and we each got a nice, hot barley tea, but when one of our party members asked for a refill, you'd think they'll refill everyone's cup, but no, they just gave that one extra cup of hot tea to my partner who asked. 2) takeout boxes. We had lots of leftovers - seafood pancake, more than half the chicken, bibimbap, and Galbi. And they only gave us one larger box and one small box to fit everything. We had to ask for another large box, and the guy kinda looked at us incredulously, but looked at our leftovers and confirmed yes, we do need an extra box. He walked back with a small one and asked if we needed a big one instead and yes, he walked back to swap for a bigger one. I kind of walked out of that restaurant feeling unpleasant. What started out as a pretty great night turned out a bit low in the end. I don't think I would come back again anytime soon. Food is great, but service was lacking. I would suggest anyone who wants to try the place to not try during peak hours.

GueZip the Korean Place opened where Octable Eatery was. Updated decor. Similar infrastructue.K-pop type music.Offerings(typical Korean): entrees, fried rice, ala carte, lunch specials, tofu soup, combo meal, apps,Wings & drums, noodles, salads, drinks, katsu, kimbab, korean fried chicken. Bites: korean style katsu lunch (16.99)-came out in 10ish minutes. Single server efficient.-banchan: daikon strips, macaroni, kimchi, spicy bean sprouts/cucumbers, spinach, bean sprouts. *uninspired. Refrigerator fresh, muted flavas-katsu similar to American chicken fried steak, German schnitzel. Fried Thin breaded protein, eat with pour over gravy. Ok. Prefer Japanese katsu. *made chicken fry steak in kitchen when in high school. Seldom ate it afterwards-came with tomato lettuce salad, macaroni salad, bowl of white rice, sliced daikon. Reasonably tasty,Not extraordinary. 4 stars worthy. Steady flow of non Asian patrons.

I was craving Korean food but not AYCE and I found this spot. I wasn't sure what to expect but they seemed to have a diverse menu and offered unique items like Korean Katsu. I ordered the seafood pancake and the Katsu. The seafood pancake was super crispy and not too oily (I had to ask for sauce though) and the katsu was very tiny and dry. There didn't seem to be any other Asian customers other than myself in the restaurant so I guess it said a lot.

Highly recommend this spot! I had a day off from work and was running errands, lucked out with a front row parking space so I had to go.I will be back with friends and my partner. The kimchi had so much flavor you could tell it was fresh. I really liked the fish cake too. I got the bibimbap in a hot stone with chicken. I love the sauce they serve with it, spicy and sweet which goes well with all the ingredients in the bibimbap. Can't wait to try their soft tofu stew.

After visiting family in the Central Valley I met with my Dad in Livermore for dinner. He raved about his time at GueZip with his coworkers and suggested we eat here. It was ideal considering they're open late since we had a late dinner!Entering the restaurant, it's clean, spacious, well lit, and the staff kindly greet you. The inside has a handful of tables for pairs or bigger parties. Loved the K-pop music playing and the K-Dramas on the screen. Reminds me of other Korean American spots in the Bay. Service by the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food came out fast. Considering they're still a new restaurant, they're doing a great job.Livermore is full of American fare so the fact GueZip is here is a move in the right direction! Glad Korean food is available here now for those to enjoy. I had the Hotstone Bibimbap with Chicken while he had the Beef Bulgogi. The banchan that came with it was tasty. My bibimbap came in a giant bowl and leftovers were needed for us both. Though the bimbimbap was good I felt like the amount of chicken was lacking as well as the other toppings. Wish there was more deliciousness so I could mix it all. I'm glad that Livermore has a new and good Korean spot downtown. GueZip The Korean Place is a nice casual spot to go for your Korean cravings. Located on First Street there's street parking all around downtown.

This place is small but it is worth going to. I might be biased because I love Korean food, but their food here is really good. My husband and I usually share the combo tofu soup and bulgogi and this satisfies our craving.Service here is awesome! The servers were attentive and always checked on us. One of them looks like a korean actorI do recommend this place!

Chicken Bulgogi (8.5/10) and tofu soup (9/10)Thank you to the lady that took our call. She was friendly and she provided delicious sides that complement their dishes. There were about 3 tables occupied by customers when I picked up the order. The ambience was nice and welcoming. My family and I will plan a dine-in visit soon.
