Overall, a very similar style to ballroom dim sum restaurants, though slightly smaller. The food was satisfactory, but nothing outstanding. It was a fairly reasonable price for a group of people. Fortunately, portions were manageable so that it's easy to sample a variety of foods. The dim sum was fine, though nothing spectacular. However, their string beans left something to be desired. The ambiance is very fitting for a family style event complete with a lazy Susan.Ambiance: Ballroom style establishment that has a large number of big tables fitted designed for large groups. You're best off coming here with a group of at least 4-5. Fairly loud as when the room is filled with people talking there isn't anything for privacy that we saw. It's a very warm family setting.Food: Food was good, but ranged from lacking to satisfactory. Their dim sum was good, I think that there aren't very many complaints here. Each dish we ordered had fairly large individual pieces so each bite is satisfying. Their shaumai and shrimp dumplings in particular were very generously made. I think that their deep fried dumplings could have been filled a little more. Unlike the shaumai or shrimp dumplings, these were fairly lightly stuffed with meat and mushrooms. The Chinese broccoli was made well. One of the things I watched out for was whether the stems were cooked through and when eating it had a satisfying crunch without being hard to bite. There were two major issues with the food we ordered. One was the fried pork. The flavor and pungent scent (腥味) was still slightly obvious and not fully removed so it left a slightly unpleasant taste. Secondly, the string beans weren't stir fried in a hot enough wok and wasn't dry enough. Overall though, I think the food was satisfactory.Price: A little pricey, expect to spend $25-35 per person. It's easy to order a lot since each dish usually has 3-5 pieces for people to share.Service: The service was good, nothing to complain about. One thing in particular I quite liked was that they took notice of when I tilted the tea pot lid to signal more tea. They were quite attentive to that and also actively cut some dishes they brought to better split amongst a larger party.Total: 3.65/5

Grand Palace is one of my go-to eateries in the Bay Area.Their food is always served piping hot and tastes fresh. While I do enjoy their dim sum, I'm been more recently been enjoying their lunch and dinner options. I really like their curry chicken over rice. The to-go container is filled to the brim with white rice, chicken, peppers and onions. I love how saucy it is and how the savory the dish is.

Good solid dim sum place. I appreciate that there has never been a long wait when I've gone and food quality/price are still good. They have all the classic dim sum dishes one looks for on a weekend casual dim sum run. The seating area is spacious, and it is nice to not feel cramped.

We had a birthday celebration here and I really enjoyed our dinner! We tried a variety of dishes, including a seafood stone pot, stir fried ribs, and asparagus. The dining room is spacious with two floors, and a giant TV. The staff were very friendly and attentive. At the end of our meal, they brought animal shaped jello for dessert.

Grand Palace has been a beloved spot for my family and friends for well over 15 years. The food never disappoints, consistently flavorful and well-prepared, and the staff are always attentive, ensuring quick service every time. While the entire menu is fantastic, I'm particularly drawn to the steamed dim sum selection--each dish is a perfect balance of tradition and taste. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, you can't go wrong with anything you order.Located conveniently on Grand Ave, the area offers plenty of parking options, both on the street and in a nearby lot. The neighborhood is highly walkable, with great food spots and shops to explore, making it my go-to destination for a delicious meal close to home.

Love this dimsum place. I like them more than koi palace. The restaurant is clean and everyone that's working there, are super helpful, friendly and attentive. All the dishes that we ordered was delicious and authentic. Price wise still affordable. With the food quality and great service, everything's worth it. This is my dimsum to go place, and to bring my family that's visiting San Fran!

The food was very delicious here! They accommodated my family with two large tables with ease. The food comes out quickly and hot. Some of the dumpling wrappers do stick to other dumplings but that's the only flaw. The flavor is great.

Very impressed with the food and good service here. Restaurant both spacious and beautiful, it's the perfect venue for a large group or small family meal. Attended a banquet with pre-ordered set menu. From the first dish served I could tell this was going to be an amazing meal. The appetizer plate had some of the most delicious and perfectly crisped roast pork, a most memorable stuffed tofu skin and a generous portion of ocean salad seaweed. Also delicious were the other courses of: poached chicken with ginger sauce, dried scallop soup, sweet sour spareribs, peppered steak with scallops, lo-han stir fried veges, steamed fish, and orange slices for a palate finisher. My favorites being the tofu skin appetizer, roast pork appetizer, beef & scallops and lo-han vegetables. Would definitely return and repeat those three dishes and try others.Parking can be challenging on the street. Thankfully there is a public parking lot close by and accessed on Miller Avenue. Sundays public parking free!
