It's been 4 years since I've dined here! My mom and I decided to swing by because it's been so long. However I was devastated that they stopped offering my favorite steamed vegetable roll! We even asked if they can make it for us but they said no T__T nevertheless, everything we ordered was delicious as always! We always order the marinated crispy tofu, brisket, and fried crispy roll. We also ordered the dumpling noodle soup. I love the noodles here! Perfectly springy texture! I'm not a fan of the dumplings but that's because I don't like shrimp and woodear mushrooms but my mom liked them. All in all, we will definitely come back again. I just really hope they'll bring back the veggie roll...

Taste: 4Creativity/Authenticity: 5Atmosphere: 3Service: 5Bang for your buck: 4Was missing home and comfort food and Stumbled upon this place. Started with the congee and the bbq combo, roast duck and cha siu. Service here for a Chinese restaurant was on point, and very quick for it being packed. Food was good and hit the spot. Overall good spot will be back to try more stuff when I'm in the area thanks

Had not been here in years and needed a spot to go for a quick bite. We ordered seafood chow mein, beef tripe and curry beef brisket in a clay pot.The ambience was very hole in the wall but the waitress was nice. The food was mostly just regular. The seafood chow mein hong kong style was soggy and the seafood lacked flavor. 3/5The tripe was just tripe and the flavors were subtle 4/5.The curry beef brisket was the best dish, 4/5. The flavors were melded well with just enough of a hint of curry to not be overpowering. Initially I was unhappy with the cut of beef but realized that it was exactly as described. Brisket instead of beef stew. Lol. It would have rocked if it was beef stew but to each their own. Would I come back? Only if it was a late night and not much else was open.

It's honestly been forever since I've last been to Fat Wong's Kitchen because with the previous ownership I felt like the quality was on a decline and my family and I slowly visited less and less. With a new owner I decided to give it a shot. My expectations were not that high because I always viewed Fat Wong's as the most average Cantonese restaurant which might be a bit harsh, but honestly in my most recent visit it was way better than I expected. My dad got the Fook Yin Fried Rice ($15.95) and I had to refrain from scooping too much of it on my plate because it was one of the best Fook Yin Fried Rices I have in a long time. I'm usually not even that big of a fan of this type of dish because I don't like my fried rice to be moist, but it really has that Wok Hei to it. Definitely recommend it.I also got the Barbecue Combination Over Rice ($14.95) with the Roasted Duck and BBQ Pork. Definitely skip the duck, it is not the best quality or flavorful. Plus it is lacking some moisture. That BBQ pork though is pretty good and tasty while also having some tenderness to it. The broccoli has no seasoning and is just cooked as is, but at least you get your veggies in at least.Overall honestly not bad at all. I think the new ownership is a step up. The interior isn't that much different other than the walls being painted, but it is comfortable enough. Parking isn't too difficult and there is plenty of street parking. I'd say it's worth coming back here in the future.

First time back since Covid. Was unsure of quality since several Yelpers posted quality went down hill during Covid. Ordered classic Cantonese dish - (roast duck noodles soup ) as a test. Happy to report it's a 5/5! The noodles were bouncy, just like in HK. The roast duck was perfect- crisp with just the right amount of seasoning. Not greasy at all. The broth just right, not overly salty like many places. Kitchen staff all speak ( and swear in) Cantonese , - a great sign Cantonese food cooked by Cantonese people. So glad to have this rare Cantonese gem in the Peninsula. Will be back!2/7/25 Update: was in the mood for curry brisket so went back yesterday got that. The brisket they use is the same as the one they use for the sliced brisket in clear broth - so more tender than the traditions ngau nam and with no chewy grisly parts. It's a milder curry, no heat at all . I opted for the curry beef brisket clay pot rather than over rice ( to have enough leftovers). It came with about 7 or 8 generous slices of brisket, some wok fried yellow onions and sweet red pepper. Wish it had some potatoes. I give the curry brisket 4.5/5. Will be a 5 if curry has a bit more kick and with some potatoes.

As far as food goes. Tastes the same as something you buy from anywhere on Irving, Clement or Chinatown. It tastes good but very pricey for what and how simple my dish was. A roasted duck over rice. The rice is a bit soggy for my liking and the amount was normal. My hubby got BBQ pork over rice and same as my dish. Tastes the same and nothing too special. The atmosphere in the restaurant seems cozy and family oriented kind of place. It wasn't busy when I went in to pick up food there. Friendly service and quick. So maybe next time I will eat in and try them again.

Not as good as they used to be pre-Covid. Disappointed that my old late night jook joint closes relatively early these days.Came here to pick up some jook for someone not feeling great. It was close to 8pm. They ran out.Other foods are still pretty tasty for the most part, but there is an under current of sadness here now.

My wife liked their name in Chinese. I liked their name in English in English. Both their name and their Yelp reviews convinced me that Fat Wong's was worthy of trying. They are located on a busy street in San Bruno, not far from the many Chinese places in Millbrae in what looks like it used to be a drive through fast food restaurant. I went there for takeout 3 times in week during a recent business trip; so much that a few of the employees starting recognizing me. We ordered their wonton noodles, dumplings, beef stew and beef tripe. Everything was good. The wontons were large and full of pork and shrimp. My wife liked the dumplings. The noodles that came with our orders were nice and al dente. Both the beef stew and tripe was tender and full of flavor. We liked this place. We liked the price. We will be back when I travel up there for work again.

Good traditional Cantonese food with minimal service. You can't really go wrong with this place.
