ORDER-Baked Rice Ox Tongue-Seafood Macaroni STARS (stand out qualities)-Food is tasty - particularly liked the ox tongue which was tender-Prices are reasonable for Bay Area and given portion -Appreciate the soup and bread that comes with baked rice-Comfortable booth seating and tables -Inside seems fairly clean -Easy parking -Service is pretty responsive and quick STAIRS (areas of growth) -Food is solid but not outstanding -Baked sauce could use more flavor -Wish they had more promotions or more things to make customer feel the value of visiting (e.g. free birthday meal, seniors/kids get discount on certain times) TIPS-If you are not too hungry, two people could probably share the baked rice dishes -Bathroom is outside; probably shared with other businesses in same unit (I heard very dirty but didn't see fit myself)

I had the best chicken congee here! My boyfriend had the pig organ congee, which was equally good! Both had this natural homey and sweetness with every bite. Our waitress was amazing and super friendly. The restaurant itself has a very traditional hk cafe feeling. I highly recommend here!

I couldn't understand half the stuff on the menu, I was pleasantly surprised with what I got. The beef tongue dish was so comforting and well balanced. The steak was a little tough. Overall, a very good local spot for comfort food and value sets. Diner style was cute.

It is already over 9pm, found that Fairwood Cafe is still open, so we came here. Glad that we made the right choice. The staff highly recommend Hainan Chicken Rice and told us it was made fresh today, so we trust her and ordered it. It is soooooo good - yummy, juicy, and fresh, very authentic!We also ordered Rickshaw Noodles - it is as expected, no surprise, fish ball, beef ball, and pork ball all as usual. Beef brisket good, however raddish not as tender and taste bland. I special request Shanghainese noodle instead of the regular egg noodles, pretty good.

Good Hong Kong cafe! They have party trays for the holidays. Cantonese food is the best.

Looking for a quick, hearty Hong Kong style meal and or a drink to quench your thirst? Well, Fairwood Cafe, a moniker resembling the one from Hong Kong, will serve you well!Their extensive menu spans across breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and drinks and oftentimes includes specials of the day. I'm fond of a few of their signature dishes but you'll find something for you, too, I'm sure. My personal picks would include their omelettes (come with fries), baked #1 pork chop over rice (comes with chicken wing and fried egg), curry or Portuguese style rice or the spaghetti variation, and fried chicken wings (comes with fries). All of their big entrees come with a slice of garlic bread and soup. Pretty decent value and the food always comes out piping hot.Oh, and you cannot forget to order a HK style drink. Whether it's the milk tea or coffee milk tea, you won't go wrong. You could also try their lemon tea (iced or hot) which is a favorite of mine when we visit Hong Kong.The service is great! We were seated and served pretty quickly . They took our drink and meal orders and even gave out a juice box for our kiddo (complimentary).There are quite a few tables and booths to choose from and usually, there's a spot without waiting. Parking lot is usually empty and it's right off the highway so there should be no issues getting here.Overall, while the food may not be the healthiest, it's plentiful, fairly priced, delicious, and quick. And if you're looking to relive a bit of Hong Kong culture through its cuisine, this is a great place to start!

Tried this spot whilst looking for some hot and sour soup, great for a chilly night. Also tried their Mongolian Beef and they were absolutely delish!! Will be going back to try their other items. Staff were friendly. Note that they don't take credit cards but accept other forms (Venmo, PayPal, and cash). Overall a must try! Support Newark businesses.

We usually order Beef stew noodle soup and is so good. The lady who works at the front desk is nice and accommodating.

Good place for a comforting meal, feels very homeyI just wanted a hot drink to warm up after being in the cold and my friend wanted a good meal to fill him up and we both left satisfiedIt is cash only but we didn't realize that until we got the the check so we were very worried because we didn't have enough cash on us but fortunately they take venmo too (but only my friend had venmo, so if I was there myself it would've been bad )Will definitely be back but will make sure to have cash on me haha
