Fable

5 Onos out of 5"Back in the Day" visited Castro Gardens regularly. Now in the far east bay, haven't really done much in the Castro.... Must say, we did a day date and was set to do the usual old school haunts, but because it was so beautiful out, we decided to check Fable out.WOW, what a wonderful surprise. The back area never looked better.The menu was delightful. The quinoa bowl was plentiful with the right amount of flavor and textures. Hubby went to the burger. Beefy, fresh and nice overall sandwich .Can't wait to come back for dinner and bring some visiting friends....

The garden seating has an intimate, romantic ambiance that made our date night away from our baby lovely! I was impressed how warm the outdoor area was despite it being a traditionally chilly winter night in SF. :) They have a rotating menu focused on what's in season. We ordered the crab cakes to start which were 10/10! That said, I ordered the sea bass with radicchio which honestly was just okay. The sea bass was moist but could have been better if it was finished off with a little crisping. The radicchio was pretty mushy and didn't quite jive with the flavors of the fish in my opinion. I ate most of the dish but it was a miss for me... my husband ordered the cheeseburger which was good but not amazing. We interacted with the host, server, and bus boys who all seemed to have a great, friendly attitude as well. Overall a cute spot for a date night.

I made reservation for my family of 4 to come here on a Wednesday night to celebrate my husband's birthday. I felt lucky as the restaurant wasn't super busy. There were patrons dining on this evening that we came but it was not at all super busy.The staff greeted us right away and were super friendly. We were seated very quickly and given water to drink. Patrick our server happened to be the same friendly guy over the phone who had helped me with my reservation.The restaurant is very beautiful and has a zen like feeling to it. I feel like this place is very intimate and romantic. It serves as a very nice place to relax one's mind. When we dined at their gorgeous beautiful back patio it is as if I've escaped into the oasis, like I'm in a whole different place.Food was delicious and fresh. Yes can bit a bit pricey but whoever said you can't splurge and spoil yourselves once in a while. My family had a good time and I will definitely recommend this place for folks who want to unwind and have a good time.

What a great find in the Castro. The back garden seating area is gorgeous and comfortable. Service quick and great. The Chilaquiles and the quinoa bowl were our picks. It was tough as I wanted so many things. In the end, we were really happy with our choices.

A cute little restaurant in the Castro with wholesome and tranquil vibes. Came here for a group dinner and had a great meal. I ordered the salmon which came with broccoli and gnocchi. It was cooked perfectly and came with a cream sauce and capers. Delicious! The gnocchi and fries were so decadent but definitely my favorite part of the meal. We finished off with dessert and the oat crumble with pear ginger and vanilla ice cream was our favorite. Would love to come here and try out their brunch.

Incredible meal! Fable has a diverse menu, extensive wine list, and above all, extremely friendly service. Everyone there is warm and courteous. Our server in particular was extremely attentive to us. The outdoor courtyard garden setting is extraordinary. Overall, a stellar experience.

the back garden is so cute, loved how airy and sunny it was! I also love here the were multiple vegetarian options - I loved the omlette with vegetarian sausage!! the service was pretty slow though, but to be expected during weekend brunch time

Fable is always a great place to go for brunch. Nice airy garden with a decent mix of brunch options from burgers, to eggs, to quinoa bowls like I got. Friendly service from everyone.

If you're lucky enough to snag an outdoor patio spot this is the place to be! Great for a brunch with friends or a elevated casual date night. Enjoy the Castro and then stop in for a meal at fable.I ordered the mussels and fries, I didn't rave about the fries that other reviews might have. But the mussels were thick and plump and yummy. Soak up the white wine sauce with fries or get a spoon to slurp it up.Others in my party were not sold on the steak eggs Benedict and hollandaise- bit of a tough cut of meat.

Absolutely delish with awesome service ! Crab cakes wee so good ! Awesome drinks . Beautiful atmosphere.!
