Came here for a friend's birthday dinner - it was 5 of us in total. Great vibes and lighting. It was a bit too crowded to hear all my friends but I can't complain since we knew they would be the case. Long line outside the place so definitely have a reservation. They don't do more than 3 cards per table so keep that in mind. The food was freaking delicious. I had everyone's pasta at my table and was quite delighted with the selection. Will definitely come back for more!Something that I was disappoint in was how the hostess said to us, " I'm going to have to ask you to vacate the premises, there's a long line outside". None of us would have cared if she had told us to leave in a nicer fashion but maybe it was stressful time for them. She also seemed to have gotten mad at our server for accidently handing us the bill from another table. The hostess for sure was very stressed.

You always need a little spot in your area where you can slam some noods. It's San Francisco, so sometimes it's ramen style, and sometimes it's Italian. Then there is whatever Emmys is. I'm not going to call it authentic Italian necessarily. More like a nostalgic American Italian type of vibe. Classic dishes that are really simple. Casual dining at its finest with an awesome feel on the inside that makes you really comfortable getting sauce all over yourself. The Garlic bread with cheese was standard. Something you can make at home but it's predictable and obviously good. The shrimp Alfredo was nice and thick and extra creamy. Yes I'm talking about pasta, calm down. The spaghetti and meatballs? Also nice. I could have eaten 26 of them. Overall a solid noodle experience. Not going to call my mom about it, but still very good. (4.2 Stars)

GET WHAT YOU EXPECT KIND OF Food was good for Italian American restaurant. The Vodka lasagna bottom layer was undercooked. Ran out of Gnocchi tonight so the server replaced with Polenta. The salmon linguine was okay, no punch and not memorable. If you like sauce, then this is your spot. Generous portions and sauces in your dish. Focaccia bread was super soft. Came with olive oil and vinegar dip. No hot drinks. No teas or coffee. No hot water. KIDS MENU AVAILABLE Spaghetti in various ways, can add chicken, meatball, or beyond beef meatball. My kid was very happy with her spaghetti and left full. VERY LOUD It was busy tonight so it was on the loud side. We sat on the other side of the wall where the dishwasher is because the whole time we could hear the clacking and banging from the dishes. EXCELLENT SERVICEOur waiter was very fast and friendly. I was impressed he remembered our order without writing it down. Because of our food was slow, he gave us extra focaccia bread. FUN VIBES WITH VINTAGE ARCADE GAMES Two pinball tables. One of them is Dolly Parton the other is guns. Have a little small arcade game with pac man and loads other games. 25 cents a play. Bring coins! Photo Booth is $5! Accepts tap and pay with credit card.Art on the wall. Christmas lights everywhere. Really fun atmosphere! We saw a few families with young children. ATM MACHINE AVAILABLE By the restrooms. PARENT NOTES Two all gender restrooms. One of them has a baby changing table. Kids coloring sheets and crayons available. Kids menu available. High chairs available.

10/10 would recommend and will come back. The owner, Mike, is awesome and has all the recommendations (like getting the hot relish infused in your dish vs cold on the side). The vibe of the restaurant is upbeat and eclectic. Imagine walking into a dive bar deep in the mission and then sitting down to have Italian food better than what you can find in north beach. This is definitely a gem that you need to check out. If you don't feel like Italian, pop in for a drink and go to the back to play some arcade games like Dolly Parton pin ball.

As you can see came during the month of October. The restaurant has a homey feel to it. I love how I feel at home here with the delicious food. I've been here three times and will be back a fourth. The bartender was really cool and had some great recommendations. I set at the bar area and enjoyed my plates and drinks. Definitely check this spot out. You won't be disappointed.

I went on NYE with my dad. He was dying to try. Cute visual ambiance & decent food. No Italian vibes in sight. The volume of the club music playing was deafening. Could not have a conversation or hear the waiter. I would not go back. Bummer cuz I really wanted to love it. Food= 4 starVisual=3 starAuditory= 0 stars

Ordered delivery from them and it visually hit the spot! Well presented especially for a container and a good amount of volume!

Emmy's spaghetti shack has had my heart for years and today was a really big disappointment. Our waiter Toto was incredibly rude. I've been coming to Emmy's spaghetti shack when they were a little hole in the wall. The way my family and I were treated was absolutely terrible. The food was amazing but I won't come here just because of how rude our waiter was. Thank you Emmy spaghetti shack for serving the community but my time here is over I would never recommend this place again.

Emmy's is cute as hell. It's a cute date spot with pretty lights and cozy. There's also 2 pinball machines and a Photo Booth. Only drawback is every time I've gone it seems pretty loud in there. The food is goood I would say 6/10 and worth it at least once but I think the ambiance scores higher than the food. We went on a Monday and got the $60 deal which was def worth it but I wish they would have mentioned it was cash only so we had to use the ATM there. Even tho the flyer said no tricks. We got the cauliflower balls which were good but didn't taste like cauliflower and the cesar salad wasn't cut up and just a few big pieces of lettuce. Maybe it's like that to be fancy but I would have rather they cut it. I'll still be going back though as it was still a really nice dinner spot. I have added a pic of our dessert!

I love this place so much! The food is both delicious (HUGE portions) and aesthetically satisfy! Think of a cartoon drawing or picture advertisement of spaghetti: that is exactly what you get! A dramatically large mountain of spaghetti, with juicy meatballs tucked into the noodles. The spaghetti sauce is perfectly balanced and garlicky (but not too much) delicious! We ordered the meatballs that have nuts in them, and the nuts added a lovely texture in addition to a more flavor (nutty). We also ordered the lasagne: "5 layer pork + beef ragù, beschamel, pecorino, spicy vodka sauce, dollop of ricotta and a sunflower seed pesto drizzle." WOOF! It was SO GOOD. The noodles were perfectly cooked, al dente. The al dente texture really anchored the rest of the dish; I hate when a lasagne is too mushy. The spicy vodka sauce was so good that I wonder if they would let me sub it in when I order the spaghetti. Lasagne and Spaghetti + meatballs are both iconic Italian American dishes, and Emmy's does a perfect job at making their food both familiar and comforting - but with a unique twist (ie. the spicy vodka sauce and sunflower seed pesto) that makes the decision to eat out feel super worth it! The service is always thoughtful and efficient. Our server was courteous in allowing me time to make my decision, and even let me know that the lasagne takes 15 minutes to prepare. He was so kind giving us focaccia with olive oil/balsamic vinegar to tide us over while we waited for our food. I ordered a glass of the house red wine, which was actually delicious and came with a generous pour. He really made our experience that much better.Ambiance wise, this place reminds me the of the SF that I knew as a kid in the 90s/early 2000s! The decor is quirky and funky: it feels like walking into a cozy outdoor courtyard. There is an entire corner dedicated to Dolly Parton, pinball machines (also Dolly Parton themed), a Photo Booth, Photo Booth pictures of patrons everywhere, and so much color (rainbow string lights, art, etc). It's such a cozy and fun atmosphere!I just adore this place, and I love coming here when my craving for pasta strikes! There's a reason it's a beloved institution, and it's rad that they continue to be innovative with what they offer the community!I'm super interested in trying the date night deal they have on Mondays: two appetizers, one entree (the portions are HUGE), one dessert, and a good bottle of wine! All for $60! That's a great deal, so I'm interested in coming back.I love this place!
