El Maguey Taqueria

Was on the hunt for good tacos and stumbled across this place! Staff was very nice and place was clean. We got Al Pastor (9/10), Carne Asada (5/10 too dry, tad over cooked and not much flavor) , Cabeza (10/10 absolutely delicious), Shrimp (8/10), and Chicken (9/10) tacos.Loved the salsa bar and horchata

My parents were leaving for the Philippines and wanted some Mexican food before their trip, so after reading some reviews from fellow Yelpers, I decided to give El Maguey a try.I purchased 4 super burritos, 3 steak and 1 pastor, it came out to around $50. The burrito sizes are pretty big, easily enough for food for 2 small meals. I did finish it in one sitting but definitely didn't need to. Since it was my first time here, my bar is always a steak super burrito, and they do it fairly well here. The rice was fresh, plenty of beans, but definitely could've used a bit more sour cream. The carne was a good for the most part except for some chewy pieces I had to pick out. Overall, a solid burrito find in San Carlos. If I lived closer, this would be on the rotation.

This is a hidden gem! I accidently found this spot and I am glad I found it. Their food is delicious, it's authentic, they are friendly, and it's a true taqueria- which is hard to find these days! Their rice and beans are delicious, their carne asada is okay, I personally like Carnitas and El Pastor. The salsa selections is great, and you can't go wrong with any of them (except for habanero - which is spicy for those that loves to live on the edge - no judgement haha !) I have been here twice already, and will definitely be back

A San Carlos Favorite !!! The Food is always so great delicious from the Caldo (Gotta be sure to call in prior) to the Wet Burritos, Quesadillas and even Shrimp Burritos all so delicious, beans an rice authentic. Service is great. From the cooks to the cashier (She is always the Sweetest) love eating here the restaurant is small but just right the hand painted artwork on the walls is so beautiful inside. This is my go to mexican place for lunch. Only a 10 minute drive from my office and they have amazing burritos. A solid taqueria choice and I have been dozens of times.The chips and salsa are self serve...

After a long day I need a pick me up so I got the espresso burrito. The espresso burritos are really good. I don't really know if the espresso kicked in but it was a really good burrito. I musta been here 59 times already. I love this place. I always get treated so nice here. They seem to put some real love into the food here. This place is great for families, dates, or even just coming by yourself. The foods so good I am surprised there's not a line down the street.

A bit awkward to get to off Holly, especially when traffic is heavy but it's a great place for take-out. Food is good and dishes arrive home still hot.

friendly and professional staff! I ordered food family style for a group of 8. They easily took my order over the phone and was ready for pick up. Food was good and convenient for a quick and easy catering meal for a small group. I will say I had a lot of food (enough for 16 guests). Will note for next time.

5 stars for their service. The young lady who took my order was patient, friendly and greeted you with a smile. Like many other places, they had free chips and salsa. But they had at least 8 different types to choose from, and the best was that they had mango salsa too.. delicious. I ordered the taco salad which was not on the menu, and it was good. My husband ordered the beef fajita and the beef was tough and chewy. I guess one should not expect much because it was under $20. But overall, I would come back to this place and try different menu items. Did I also mention their portion size!! I had left over for lunch.

My new go-to Taqueria. Two visits so far.So far everything has been great. Rice, beans, al Pastor, their home-made salsas are also top notch. Friendly, fast and price is right. Looking forward to my return.I heard another customer talking about how well they prepare the shrimp. Might have to try that next time. Camarones!!!
