El Farolito

This is my place for a midnight burrito run!This place has been here for many years and it's my favorite restaurant.I like that it's an open kitchen and you can see the cooks preparing my food.He starts with warm tortillas, cheese, Spanish rice,refried beans, salsa, pico de gallo, meat and sour cream.They offer condiments such as salsa, tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, limes and sliced radishes.My super burrito was massive! Delicious and excellent!There's only a few places that I return again and again. This is one of them. This place offer dine in or take out. I preferred to go and enjoy my burrito in private.I devoured that burrito like there's no tomorrow!You guys did an amazing job! I'm one happy customer and for many more years!Looking forward to my next midnight burrito run, lol

We visited El Farolito for the second time, trying the Carne Asada Plate and the Carnitas Super Burrito. While the food was undeniably good, we still don't quite understand the overwhelming hype this spot gets.The Carne Asada Plate was solid--tender, mildly flavorful meat paired with classic sides of rice and beans. The portion size was generous but it didn't stand out as extraordinary. The Carnitas Super Burrito, on the other hand, was about the same. The carnitas were well-seasoned and juicy, and the combination of beans, rice, and toppings made for a satisfying bite. Still, it felt like something you could find at many other taquerias in the area.One thing that really stuck out, though: you have to pay for chips. That's a big no in my book. Chips and salsa are a staple at most Mexican eateries, and charging for them just feels off.Overall, El Farolito is a good spot for a hearty Mexican meal, but for us, it doesn't quite live up to the legendary status it seems to have.

Super busy but quick and organized services. Order at the counter and food will be deliver to your table. Utensil and napkins at the counter. My go to is grilled chicken suiza but the wet burrito caught my eye. Grilled chicken super burrito covered in enchilada sauce. Super heavy but so good. I kinda regret ordering a wet burrito cause I can't pack the left over. Best to order it when I'm super hungry or split it w/ someone. Meter parkings. Credit card accepted.

Love this place!! Been coming since middle school. Usually order a burrito but this time we got tacos and a quesadilla. Pretty affordable for the family. Service was good and fast. Didn't have to wait too long for the food. Parking just kinda sucks here sometimes but it is what it is.

Told this was the go to spot when visiting San Francisco. It wasn't anything crazy, the nachos were okay, lot of cheese that made the chips soggy. The quesadilla was super good though . Proportions were huge ! They have a separate menu for Lengua which I really wanted to try but they were out , curious as to why it had its own menu that was exactly the same as the rest of the menu

This place has been here for decades and it's one of the staples for the Mission street style burrito. My go to place whether for lunch or after midnight . Lots of great late night memories here , it was the hook up spot. Nowadays I just roam around here during the day and get my Super Burrito with avocado and no guacamole. My current favorite burrito is El Pastor which has good flavor. Their service is always good to me. So for a daytime or late night burrito, go to the other Mission street location of El Farolito.

This place stays really busy, well into the night. Long lines and plenty of loud chatter. I ordered a Carnitas super taco and ceviche tostada. So much meat. Both were very filling, a lot of food for the money. The customer service wasn't outstanding, but I could tell the staff was working hard and were probably ready for the night to be over. I also ordered jamaica, one of my favorite agua fresca beverages. It was very tasty. I could see myself going back here again, probably for a burrito next time.

This one of my go to places if you want great americanfied burritos since burritos are foreign to mexico.I normally would get the cabeza or lengua burrito from here and have never been disappointed. One of these days I will have to eat there instead of takeout. They have a very extensive menu. The takeout order was pretty quick but I did go there when it was not a peak time. I prefer this location instead of their other locations, it just seems that the staff is much more friendly here.They do have quite a large dining area so I would like to actually dine in instead of taking out.Oh I forgot the most important part their burritos are top notch.

A great spot for Mexican in the Mission! Wish I had a place like Taqueria El Farolito nearby me in Manhattan! The line going out the door (worth the wait) clearly is a combination of late hour when I was there, limited space up front, and affordable delicious eats! Ordered two items: Torta Lengua and the Tostado de Ceviche. Highly recommend both! At El Farolito, you can order their Torta Mexican sandwiches with any meat: Al Pastor marinated pork, Carnitas deep fried pork, Chorizo Mexican sausage, Carne Asada steak, chicken, beef head, tongue, or tripe - but follow my reco below!First, don't be squeamish, Torta Lengua is a delicious beef tongue Mexican sandwich. For those unfamiliar, tongue, cooked like this, is a tender, moist piece of beef that tastes like other cuts of beef without any off taste, such as with other organ meats. (My first experience enjoying tongue was cooked by my Russian classmate's mom.) El Farolito's Torte Lengua, including also refried beans, avocado, tomato, lettuce, jalapeño and sour cream, comes on cut roll with a crispy crust. (See pic.) The pieces of tongue were buttery soft like the avocado. Although my impression is that tongue's a cheap cut of beef, El Farolito's Torta Lengua is $4.50 more than their Torta's with other meat and so worth it!Second, El Farolito Tostado de Ceviche was their shrimp ceviche and avocado on top of a flat, crisp tortilla. Also extremely yummy, although a little drippy. (Be careful to avoid getting some ceviche juices on you.)NOTE - This is a cash only place! Also, I sat in the outdoor seating in the back - which I felt was a better space than a booth up front.

This is the best El Farolito location in the city. Never a long line, with the same quality product as the Mission and 24th location, and superior quality to the one on Alabama. Glad that it's nearby.
