It's hard to find an excellent beef noodle place comparable to the fine and varied places in Taiwan, and this restaurant hits the spot. The original beef noodle soup broth is tasty, refined, complex, and very flavorable. The hand pressed noodles are firm, fresh, and blends nicely with the soup. The beef is tender, tasty, and the mix of small bak choy makes a nearly perfect slightly spicy beef noodle soup. The back wall described the soup making process which takes 18 hours and I believe it.The mix braised plate was also very good. What stood out was the tofu variety which was tasty with full of braised flavor. The tripe was well cooked and also very tasty, the braised egg was also excellent. Would definitely come back for more dishes. The only downside was the slow service, maybe was near when they close for lunch, but the waitress was very friendly and helpful.

I was craving hand-pulled noodles but didn't want to drive all the way to Cupertino or Milpitas, so I decided to give this place a try. I didn't know what to expect, as it was located inside the Westfield Oakridge Mall food court. After ordering on the kiosk, it took about 15-20 min to receive my order, which felt like an eternity as I was in a "fast food" setting and it looked like there was only one person waiting in front of me. I got the Braised Beef Brisket Noodle Soup with hand-made noodles for $18. They separated the noodles from the soup, which was nice. However, the broth was mediocre and a bit greasy, and the noodles tasted rubbery.Overall, pretty disappointing. Even considering the food court factor, it was overpriced and poor quality. Next time I'm craving noodle soup, I'll just make the drive to a sit-down restaurant.

I was craving for some Asian comfort soup in contrast to the usual food court offerings at the mall and decided to check out a newer Taiwanese spot called Duan's Kitchen. Ordered some pork dumplings which although pricey my kids enjoyed. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to order them again unless I'm really in a pinch. We also got xiao long bao (soup dumplings) but these were dry, dense, and missing the soup entirely. This one's a skip. I was told that the beef soup is their specialty so I also ordered the braised beef brisket noodle soup, which unfortunately lacked depth and flavor. The beef was tough and chewy, making it hard to enjoy. Even my kids, who usually don't mind simpler flavors, weren't fans. Chili oil was provided, but it didn't do much to help balance out the dish. $17 for a bowl of soup is a little steep, especially for "fast" food in a mall setting. For that price, I was hoping for a better experience. If I'm going to spend that much, I'll skip the food court all together and opt for a sit down restaurant at the mall.

I'm Asian, and the texture of rice is very important to us. I bought two braised pork rice bento boxes for $7.99 each at this shop. The side dishes were okay, but the rice texture was terrible. It was very hard, almost like leftover rice from the edge of the pot. Both boxes had the same issue. I wouldn't recommend it.

Tried Duan's Kitchen at Oakridge Mall food counter with my parents and broth. Didn't know what to expect since it was at the food court. It was a pleasant surprise. The beef and tendon were very tender, hand made thick noodles chewy, nice broth. But, my favorite was the fried rice with pork chop - the rice had really good flavor and texture , pork chop real tender. The wonton in chili oil was very flavorful. We got the meal which included an egg roll, some cucumber and a winter melon lemonade.Servers were friendly and the food was hot- it did take a little time to get the food .Give them a try

I tried out Duan's Kitchen located inside Oakridge mall. I had to use the kiosk to order my meal. It took about 15 minutes for my food to be ready.Xiao Long Bao - (Soup Dumplings): There was no soup inside these dumplings, and it tasted a bit dry. I enjoyed the dipping sauce which made it taste better. I would not recommend this dish.Chinese Donut - This was over fried, and it didn't have the soft chewy texture inside. It was just crunchy and dry. I would not recommend.Original beef noodle soup - I chose hand pull noodle, which was chewy. The beef was thinly sliced and not the beef shank in other Taiwanese places. The broth was lacking in flavor. It really tasted like noodles mixed in a bunch of chili oil. I would not recommend.Veggie Egg roll - This tasted ok. It reminded me of the frozen egg rolls from Costco.Overall, I was looking forward to this Taiwanese place, but it was a bit disappointing. The dishes are a bit pricey, too.

Overall, food was decent but expensive and food prep time was slow. Popcorn chicken (3/5): The taste of the chicken was good and the inside was tender, but the outer shell was soft and wasn't crispy at all. (Cost: $8)Pork belly noodle soup (5/5):These noodles were surprisingly good. The broth was rich and the noodles were delicious. There was also a decent portion of pork belly. (Cost: $17)Beef brisket dry noodles (2/5):The noodles were bland (which probably could've been solved with more sauce), and served in a bowl barely bigger than the popcorn chicken bowl which made it hard to mix the noodles and the sauce. We got a meal, so it also came with a side of two eggrolls and a winter melon lemonade, both of which were good but nothing to write home about. (Cost: $18.99)The store is located in the middle of the Oakridge Mall food court and uses a touchscreen display for ordering. The food came out in about 25 minutes which was pretty slow by food court standards, especially since it didn't seem that busy. All in all, a decent noodle place but nothing special.

Yay, fairly new noodle soup place at Oakridge. Their fresh thick cut noodles are great. Higher quality than you would expect at a food court place. I've tried the beef noodle soup and tomato beef noodle soup. There is the option to get those without the meat which I always do because I like the meat flavored soup but don't actually like eating the meat and generally just feel pressured to eat the meat because, well, I'm Asian. So it feels good to be able to save a few bucks and not feel forced to eat the meat! The two noodle soups I've tried are flavorful. Not mind blowing, but again, really pretty good for a food court restaurant. I also tried the winter melon lemonade-- no bueno-- overpriced and not at all delicious. Somehow the way they mix the drink makes both the winter melon and the lemonade each taste not as good. Would rather get a purely winter melon or purely lemonade instead of this. Do not recommend.Service is surly, but this is what I expect at Oakridge. This is the new place I always gravitate towards when hitting up Oakridge around lunchtime, and I foresee it being so for a while.

Food:We ordered Duan's Braised Beef Noodle Soup with egg rolls and lemon drink. The beef was dry and tasteless. The soup was too salty and way too spicy. The taste of the spice made our throat and stomach uncomfortable. Two beef noodle soup meals cost us $41 for food and tax. This is our 2nd time to try Duan's Beef Noodle. We don't foresee there will be a 3rd time.
