Thursday evening, farmers market? A terrific place to meet up with friends, stroll around, enjoy the balmy summer evenings. If you get lucky, there may be a live music performance or somebody busking which adds to the delightful, carefree, relaxing atmosphere. Well, "relaxing" might be an overreach, but it was to me. I love the feeling of a community coming together and showing their best side.A ton of young people gathering with high school friends and college mates in lively chatter alongside aging adults grabbing a novel bite to eat of so many different kinds of food... Italian pizza or kettle corn or gluten-free, Mexican cuisine or Thai skewers freshly grilled. And addition to the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, You can also find fun culinary things to buy like exotic spices, premixed ramen broth concentrate to take home and prep, premade, gluten-free noodles, and several bakeries, displaying sweet treats and crusty exotic breads. Everyone seemed cheerful, and there were several vendors passing out yummy free samples to try!

During the summer and into fall, coming to the Los Altos Farmers Market to browse through the various fruit and food stalls became an activity I looked forward to every week. The afternoon and evening hours of this farmer's market worked perfectly with my busy schedule (even over the summer), and was the perfect location for me to wind down and enjoy my evenings walking around and tasting fresh foods. Plus, there were several artists and organizations who often came to show their talents and liven up the atmosphere of the farmers market. Many of the stalls offered samples and had good deals on fruits and foods, some stand outs were Little Sky Bakery, King Ranch Farms, and Rodriguez strawberries. There were so many vendors that even with my weekly visits there was still a lot left to try. I can't wait to start coming here again when it reopens in May of next year!

Hands down, THEE BEST farmers market I have ever been to!! Through word of mouth, I was informed by a neighbor/regular of the Los Altos Farmers Market that this event occurs every Thursday from 4pm-8pm, ALL YEAR ROUND!!Our party noticed the farmers market as we were driving around trying to find parking. After having dinner close by, I wanted to take a quick stroll and was shocked to see the market still opened and extremely lively. Farmers market that I've visited normally shut down pretty early so this was an absolute treat!Though there was signage stating dogs were not allowed, there were plenty of four legged cuties roaming around. My daughter has an absolute ball saying hello to the wagging tailed cuties and was lucky enough to do a little petting. Shout out to the gentleman with the beautiful golden retriever, you've only added to my toddlers obsession with dogs!!! 5/5 stars!! I cannot wait to come back. 30+ minute drive from SJ in the middle of traffic and then driving around to locate parking in the busy very busy DT Los Altos area is well worth the headache.

The downtown farmers market is a great place to visit. Overall , all of downtown Los Altos is great , they have many places to eat and drink , from the trendy to the mom and pop establishment. You will find this town very friendly and extremely safe. One of the few places I've seen that leaves their chairs , heaters , other equipment out at night. Gives you a real sense of security. From trendy shops all the way from buying a grand piano to health and beauty care to chakra supplies and much more. Give the town a try ,If dinning many places to chose from. Although some bar/restaurants this is not a bar scene town , more the relaxing night out or fun shopping. Enjoy

It is by far the best farmers market in the area, however it is seasonal:( It is not so crowded which means you can park your car easily. There is enough space for people who wants to buy food from market and sit at a table. The best part about this market is that it opens at 4 pm All the produce are so fresh. It is not just a market, it is a full package experience

What a wonderful Farmers Market in the heart of downtown Los Altos. There's a great mix of fresh fruit, vegetables, breads and prepared foods. We enjoyed strolling through the stands on this warm Thursday summer evening. Strawberries from P&K farms smelled so sweet and tasted like summer. We savored our iced coffees and enjoyed the live music. Great market!

I like that the Los Altos Farmers' Market is open on a weekday! It is nice to go on Thursdays after work. It's not huge, but it's big enough. Especially during COVID times, it is noticeably less crowded than bigger farmers' markets (I'm thinking of Mountain View and Sunnyvale--which have an awesome selection of stands, but which make me uncomfortable during this era of social distancing). I have noticed that the prices are higher than other farmers' markets around the Bay Area. Definitely not insignificantly more expensive than the Fremont Irvington Farmers' Market, but also pricier than other peninsula farmers' markets (Foster City, San Mateo, Mountain View, Sunnyvale that I can think of off the top of my head). A half flat of strawberries here is $20- highest price I've seen at a farmers' market, and I always get a half flat of strawberries when I go to any farmers' market because I have no self control when it comes to strawberries. There's a really good pastry/bread stand here. I can't remember the name right now. But they have decadent fruit tarts. To die for. I think they're $6 each, but I am down to splurge on them because they bring my taste buds indescribable joy. They do run out though-- they were out by the time I got there around closing time. So I got a chocolate pistachio croissant instead, which did not disappoint.

Aside from the fact that I love all farmers' markets, this one in particular is probably the closest, moreover, it's the one that runs in the late afternoon - opposite to most others in the area, which are only open early mornings on the weekends. Hours here are from 4 to 8 pm! And on a weekday - Thursdays! That alone earns it five stars, plus the fact that despite its upscale location, prices here are much more reasonable than at the MV farmers' market. Besides, I love downtown LA on its own merit, so to add the farmers' market Thursdays makes it a perfect afternoon. Great selection of veggies and fruits, sweets and foods, the season stars in a week. Can't wait!

My husband and my favorite farmers market. Rodriguez strawberries and Kings apricots are the best. We also love the stone fruit from a Japanese name orchard starting with "K"; they always have multiple varieties of white nectarines. On hot days the shaved ice is a hit. Handmade lemonade is fresh and fun to watch being shaken. We always have dinner at the Indian stand always in the last spot/first spot on the street; the naan is fresh and baked right there.

Covid has really ruined this farmer's market. I actually came here for the farmers as much as for the prepped food stalls, but for this season, many of them were not invited back. I suspect that is because many of the local restaurants were already struggling from the effects of the Covid pandemic and probably lobbied to have less competition. The produce tends to cost more as well compared to other farmers' markets. This used to be a Thursday tradition for us, but we'll probably skip out on it this season.
