Dosa Place

I called about 4-5 dosa restaurants/ cafes in Fremont inquiring about if they make Rava Masala Dosa. My sister and I were happy that finally Dosa Place makes Rava Dosa. After reaching there, we ordered DP Spl Rava Masala Dosa, and two filter coffees. We were shocked to see that Special Rava Masala Dosa had tons of cheese in it. When I asked if it could be changed to a regular Rava dosa since we didn't expect dosa to have cheese in it, instead they replaced the cheesy dosa with rava dosa with tons of red chili powder stuffed in it instead, ( see pics attached). We felt that because we voiced our concerns and requested for a replacement Dosa, the owners retaliated to our complaint by giving us super duper spicy dosa. Instead of taking our feedback, where we told them that they should have a description for customers to see, in a positive way, it seemed that they rather not have any feedback. Filter coffee was sugar less, mind you, no sugar given on the side, and it came in paper cups. I'm never coming back to this place and will also let my friends and social circle know about our experience.

Delicious South Indian buffet with fresh Idli, vadas, hot piping sambhar, rasam, payasam, flavorful chutneys and hot dosa bought fresh to the table. Very reasonably priced and owner is very nice and great host. A must for Bay Area people. Very nice and clean

Dosa's have to be my favorite dish on their menu. They are well stuffed and nicely cut in a way where it's easy to eat without the stuffing falling apart or getting wasted like in other restaurants. Other dish I highly recommend is their Malabar paratha which they make fresh and serve with amazing veg korma. Ambience has been recently improved as well. Service is very fast and it's easy to order through their system causing no confusion.

This is notes of the most underated Indian food place in Fremont. They have great tasting food, unlimited sambhar, chutney, service is fast and accurate. Chhola bhaturey is the highlight.

Went there with 2 adults and 2 kids (2 and 4 yrs old) for the Buffett at 11 am. Buffett closes at 11:30 am. Highlights I have not seen many South Indian breakfast/brunch Buffett options in Fremont, union city, Newark and Hayward areaTheir variety of food was decent Staff is friendly and will try to accommodate your needs as much as possible (we had a big stroller which required a spacious table) Food was not spicyLowlights Very crowded Small seating space You reuse the same plate to refill from the buffet in which you are eating (not hygienic I think) Buffett stations were not refilled promptly The food tasted good from the Buffett station but the appeal was not nice All the serving spoons were greasy and had food sticking on them (maybe people used soiled hands to get the food)Old, worn out utensils were used at the Buffett station Parking lot is very very busy because of other big stores, restaurants and farmers market in the same lot

We ordered a Thali and Indo-Chinese and the food was excellent! The quantity and price both worked well. The service was quick too. It isn't the most stylish place but if you are looking for good food at a good price, try this out. Also, the name is misleading - they have a lot more than just dosas!

Dining here for years, and Chef Shekar's Masala Dosa and Upma are unbeatable! Authentic flavors and always perfect!

We tried their weekend breakfast buffet and would recommend it. They served just about every South Indian breakfast item. It also included dosas served to your table. All items were refilled in a timely manner ... everything served hot and very flavorful. The restaurant is by no means fancy but has enough of seating and tables are cleaned quickly. The hostess and servers were eager to please and took a personal interest to ensure all guests had a good time. Only suggestion I would have is to make the general areas cleaner.
