This is one of the best taco trucks on this side of town. It used to be located next to the Valero on Aborn and White but due to their remodeling, it has moved. It is now a magical taco truck hidden behind the Wells Fargo in the same plaza. Their tacos are juicy and have various choices of meat and veggie options. The tortillas are made by hand and you can taste it. If you're really hungry you can go for a burrito which is massive in size and they aren't shady with the meat either. Their sauces are green and red and at times, are pretty spicy. They usually give one of each so you may have to ask for more. Some may say this taco truck is overpriced but you get what you pay for and that is quality eats. Plus, this taco spot is considerably lower in price than an "Iguanas" or "La Vics" visit and you'll feel better after eating it too! So if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite swing by Don Jose's. Oh, and don't forget to bring cash since they are cash only!

I hesitated to try this place because of the reviews but I decided to give it a shot. And I'm glad I did. This place was empty when I got there which was kind of sad. The food was really good. We ordered Pastor, Asada, Tripas, and Cabeza, Chorizo tacos. They were all good. The best part was the tortilla. Crispy corn tortilla. Good size too. They don't look super appetizing but they hit. Good seating and service too.

It grosses me out when they wear gloves to grab your money, then from there with the same gloves they cook your food and serve you. Please do better. Take those gloves off when touching money, wash your hands, put gloves on, then cook the food.

Opted for a super burrito, tacos were listed at $4 each. The rice was burnt and old. The meat was overcooked or old, and they mentioned it came with avocado, but I did not see any in either of the two burritos. I went during dinner time too (it was not busy)portion-wise they give a lot of meat. but it just didn't taste good. Would not come again.

$3.25 a taco. First impression- over priced! Then I realized the tortilla was hecho de mano (made by hand).Red salsa is flavor, green is spicy, Just get a great kick from it.My order: 4 tacosAsada- really easy to chew, would put at the top of my list for asada anywhere. Chorizo-burnt outside gave it a nice crunch.TripaShrimp- a must try! Beware it is $6 but worth it. Topped with tomato, onion, cilantro, and a garlic type salsa I think. It was like boiling crab in a taco.

I was craving for a burrito and since this was the closest to me, I chose to try Don Jose's truck by Valero Gas Station. I ordered 2 Burritos (Asada and Pastor). I asked the lady what came in the burrito and she immediately called someone else over to understand what I was saying. I ordered the Asada with everything except tomatoes, onions and cilantro. With the Pastor, I basically only wanted meat, cheese, sour cream and rice. After I told her my order, she left and I was charged. I already assumed that one of the burritos was going to be messed up but once I got home, both burritos were exactly how I ordered. To top it all off, the burrito was delicious and there was so much meat in the burrito. They definitely didn't shy away with that. I'll be returning!

It is the one of the, if not the best, best places serving Mexican food. It is located on the Keaton Loop by San Felipe Road. I am a vegetarian and their veggie tacos are the BEST. They use fresh grilled, flavorful veggies and the variety offered is amazing - cauliflower, broccoli, bell pepper, onions & tomatoes. Other places pass lots of lettuce and onions, as veggies. The ingredients always taste fresh and at a reasonable price. Their chips can sometimes taste a bit stale but that's the only negative.

Excellent tacos!!!!! Had 2 chorizo and 1 pastor today, handmade tortillas, thin, and yummy. Perfect size. Large tortillas and great meat portion. Salsa was spicy and tasted good. I will definitely come back and will recommend!!!

Food is still super good, although their prices did get raised. Tacos are now $4 each, but I think it's still pretty worth it since they're bigger than your average street sized taco. Meat super flavorful and juicy + handmade tortillas = soo good
