This is a bit more elaborate than a typical fruit stand. It's more of a fruit stand meets high end specialty grocer. The isles are a bit tight and if crowded the store can be a bit of a challenge to move around but it also has a fun treasure hunt aspect to it as you never know what you may find. Huge selection of both produce and specialty goods. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, prices in line with the area..... Not much more you could ask for.

We drove by this produce market and were curious what it has to offer. I was very impressed with the selection of fruit and vegetables. The owners here provide extremely fresh produce with some reasonable prices, both organic/non-organic. At the front they provide current details, such as $3.99 strawberry baskets. This was indeed true. Some grocery stores are having a hard time providing yogurt pretzels, so I was happy to find boxes of yogurt pretzels here. You will also find various sauces and spices for your cooking needs. Thanks Kozy Brothers!

If you're looking for freshest produce outside of a farmers market you go here. The people there are always nice and helpful, especially when you find yourself shuffling around during off peak hours. I see the same people and it's just a nice feeling. They aren't that big but they carry enough meats, cheeses, breads and eggs to keep a household ready for anything. I love this place.

Every single piece of produce from this store is filled with flavor. Each item sold here is of a high quality. For prices you pay at big grocery stores, this small store gives you more bang for your buck. I would not buy fruits from anywhere else. I usually go on weekday mornings and Rosa always greets me with a smile and a good morning. There's always someone who is there to help you and what I love is the wide range of produce from local growers! Support the farmers

Stopped in here for the first time today craving summer fruit. Yes it's more pricey than a regular market but well worth it for the quality and freshness of what you get. Today we got the best yellow peaches I've had this summer, maybe even in my life. Intensely flavored sweet firm reddish orange flesh, not spongy or mushy. The apricots also, and I always have a hard time finding good apricots even at the farmers markets. The broccoli looked so fresh like it was picked today so I had to get some. The grapes are also extremely fresh, you can tell by how the stems are still green and not withered and brown, and they are so crunchy. If you are a gourmet home cook then this is the place to get your seasonal produce. We splurged on a black watermelon, looking forward to trying it!

The problem with going to a regular grocery store is that you're not entirely sure if your fruit is local and seasonal. You really have to look at the fine print on the packaging. Here at DeMartini, the first fruit that you'll see as you walk in is grown in California. They do have some mangos from Ecuador and some persimmons from Israel but most of the fruit is local and seasonal. I bought some blood oranges, Satsuma mandarins, and golden grapes. They also have some packaged Burmese salads tucked away in a little corner. Burma Superstar is my favorite Burmese restaurant... and it's so cool that I can eat a gourmet salad from there every single day of the week for just eight bucks! Nice pivot from extremely popular SF restaurant with snotty service before the pandemic... to gourmet salad supplier everywhere in the SFBA during the pandemic. Why hide such an amazing Burmese Ginger salad or Burmese Tea Leaf salad in a corner? Display it as people walk in. Everyone in the Bay Area knows of Burma Superstar and loves their salads! They also have an amazing sourdough baguette. Why would I get a French baguette from Maison Alyzee or German fitness bread from Esther's Bakery when I can get a sourdough baguette, that's absolutely delish and as Californian as you can get, from here? After experiencing the most amazing fresh California produce in the middle of January on a sunny and warm day (70 degrees) preceded by a hike by the ocean, the thought of living any place else terrifies me. As the Eagles song, Hotel California, goes "You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!"

Going into this review, I will admit that I know the Kozy family personally having grown up and having been friends, for many years, with one of the Kozy sons. That being said, I'll try to go into this review as objectively as possible.DeMartini Orchard, you could say, is a local institution. It's been around for years, and, per a discussion I had with the owner, Craig Kozy, is still going strong notwithstanding the Covid-19 pandemic and shutdown. It's nice to see that, especially with some of the other local, mom-and-pop produce markets that we've lost in recent years like the Milk Pail Market, Sunnymount Produce (which was also owned by the Kozy family), and Imahara Fresh Produce among others.Walking in, you'll notice that the building and set-up are reminiscent of a roadside fruit stand. The area that we all know today as Silicon Valley used to be called the Valley of Heart's Delight due to the widespread orchards and farmland that used to make up this area. They have lots of fruits, vegetables, jams, snacks, juices, etc. One thing that should be noted is that the prices here are more on the expensive side compared to most other stores around here. They do have a number of items that are moderately priced, too, granted. But, quite honestly, you get what you pay for. Period. I've purchased produce from a number of other stores around here, both chain and mom-and-pop. No other store that I've purchased produce from comes close to how amazing the produce here is. It's seasonal and fresh, and there are a lot of locally grown items too. The fruit, in particular, is amazingly delicious and flavorful. I've eaten their strawberries, grapes, apples, bananas, peaches....all amazing. Full of flavor.Compare and contrast that with another local store like Felipe's Market. The items sold at the three stores owned by Felipe are very well-known for being dirt cheap. But my experiences with them is that it's cheap because the produce is low-quality. There have been a number of times I've bought produce from all three of his stores only to have it either be flavorless and/or spoil within just a few days. It's not that way here. The one other minor drawback is that it's a little bit cramped inside. Thankfully, they've taken steps to ensure people are six feet apart and have also implemented a program where you can call ahead and tell them what you want to buy, they'll find it and bag it for you, you pay over the phone with your credit card, and then you can come by and pick it up. Overall, I give them a solid four stars. Bottom line, you won't find any other grocery store around here with higher quality, fresher, tastier produce than here. Personally, I'd rather pay more money for a great product than less money for a subpar product. If you feel the same way about buying fruits and vegetables, come here.4 stars
