The tacos are better than expected here. Three tacos and a Coke was $12 and change. The big plus, a big plus really, is it's located at the same plaza as an Asian drinking spot.Every few blocks on this stretch of Alum Rock Avenue has a similar setup: A truck/food stand for mainly to-go orders with very limited seatings. A regular taco is two small soft tortillas with your choice of grilled meats. You then have to add toppings and condiments at a garnishes station.Let convenience be your deciding factor then.

I was craving tacos and found this place randomly on Yelp. I used to frequent another taco truck in ESSJ but I'm usually not in that area anymore so I've been searching for a late night taco option closer to me.Damian's is located inside a plaza on Alum Rock and should be easy to spot. There's a cart stocked with cilantros, onions, limes, salsas, jalapeños, and grilled onions that you can add onto your tacos, as well as ketchup and mustard for your hot dogs. Their tacos are $2.50 each with the exception of Lengua which is $3. They also offer bacon wrapped hot dogs for $4. We tried..Pastor - This one was okay. Not bad but nothing special.Chuleta - I've never heard of this until now, but it's smoked pork chops. It tasted like bacon and was surprisingly good. Would recommend.Tripa - I didn't have any, but the boyfriend said it's the best tripa tacos he's had. Most places don't offer tripa, and the places that do offer it cook it a little too crispy. He said this one was the perfect balance of chewy and crispy. Would recommend.Cabeza - This is my favorite taco meat and they did not disappoint. Soft, juicy, tender. Would recommend.Lengua - Their lengua obviously has been braised for a long time. Most lengua is a little chewy but this one melts in your mouth. Unfortunately we prefer our lengua with a slight chew but this was still good depending on your preference. So tldr: Would recommend the cabeza and tripa tacos, and give the chuleta tacos a try if you like bacon. They're cash only so be sure to bring cash.

You have to try his quesadillas!! Every time I go to Damian's I have to them them. They're the cheesiest I've ever had. Other good menu item are tripa tacos, the meat is very crispy and delicious.

Quick service and good food, albeit a little pricey for what you get. I ordered two tacos, one al pastor and one chorizo, as well as the hotdog. The tacos come plain like most taco trucks and they have an array of toppings to put on it. The hot dog is a beef frank wrapped with a single strip of bacon. In total, it was 2.50 per taco and 4 for the hot dog. I put onions, cilantro, and salsa on top of both tacos, and topped off the hotdog with onions and some green chili sauce. The al pastor was delicious and had just the right amount of flavoring in it, but the chorizo taco fell a little flat and tasted over seasoned. The hot dog was just a plain hot dog, nothing special about it. It was a little short for the price and it came in a regular white bun. The green chili sauce had a decent lime and jalapeño flavor, but it was pretty spicy, so I would avoid putting too much on your food if you're not good with spicy food. The food volume for the price was decent. They put a good amount of meat into the tacos, but the hot dog was really where I felt I had lost out on value.Overall, I enjoyed the meal, but the food left me wanting for a bit more in terms of both volume and quality. Having said that, I might come back to try out one of their quesadilla. This is a small taco stand run by a husband and wife, so I understand that they operate under certain constraints. I would err on the side of a 3-3.5, but for my official rating I'll give them a 4. Avoid the hot dog if you can help it, and try the al pastor is my tip for this place.

This place is a small food court/vender on the side of the street. I got a carne asada quesadilla and two carne asada tacos which was better than what I expected. The quesadilla was loaded with cheese and meat. The tacos were loaded too with LOTS of meat. The person making it was really fast in making it. He asks if you want everything on it which has onions, cilantro, lemon, and radish. You can eat there at their tables or take home, which I did. The only downside is that this vendor only opens after 5pm.

First time here and I will definitely be coming back! Delicious food. The street dogs are my favorite. Tacos are great and full of meat. They got great spicy salsas and other condiments. The workers are very nice people and fast at cooking up the food on a very nice cleaned taco stand. Im glad I found this new spot! P.S. It's cash only.

We were starving. Damian's truck looked busy enough, but not too busy. We were so glad we stopped here. Tacos were bomb. One man show. Great service, great tacos.

Came across this lowkey taco truck while driving on Alum Rock. I got 3 tacos al pastor and they were not bad. I like how they have a salsa bar where you can help yourself to a variety of toppings and customize your taco however you'd like. Their salsas are pretty spicy too, which I like. However, within 30 minutes of eating, I had one of the worst stomach aches which lasted all night. Pretty sure it was food poisoning.
